  1. Hey all, I am a bit of a "I will catch you and hurt you" kinda guy when it comes to my car...therefore I have got a couple of cameras in the car...Russian-stylee! Both cameras are rechargeable and have motion detection. I can't find the seller that I bought them off, however they are cheap (£20 - £30 + import duty if you get collared for it) and work very well indeed. Here's the same model of one of mine: Dual Lens DashCam - There's lots more....just search 'car camera dual' on fleabay. As it says...its dual lens....the good thing about this one is that both lenses can be turned in all sorts of directions. Both cameras can be set to record on a rolling basis from 5 to 15 minutes so you don't need a large MicroSD card if you are using it just through the day whilst driving. However if like me you want to use it for leaving your car unattended (even through the night...did I mention it has InfraRed Night Vision too?!) then you will need a 32GB MicroSD card and disable the rolling recording function along with the function to auto-switch off when you turn the engine off. Just to note....no wiring into the vehicle is required at all...only the 12v charger when you are driving to charge it for the overnight or car park stuff. Oh, also....it's best that you have tinted rear windows so you can stick the camera on the rear window so it won't be seen if leaving it overnight as leaving it on the front screen is kinda asking for it to be nicked... Can you guess I am impressed? Might be overkill in some peoples eyes....however for the very low cost and plug it in and leave it....it's a good buy for me :hohoho:

  2. I don't have one of these but have often thought of buying one when friends have told me of the marks they have found on their cars after parking in carparks. A lot of them come with "park modes" - I have seen one of these in Halfords if there is one near you

  3. The auction place would probably be the best to ask as they will have local companies they probably use themselves plus the cost is usually less as they are already in the area so don't have to travel far to pick up the car before delivering it to you. Some companies charge by the mile but this is calculated on a one way basis as it will include their return journey costs and it can also vary on the physical size of the car. Ususally £1.00 to £1.50 a mile. I had a car collected from Glossop by a company based there, very professional with the correct vehicle for a 2 ton LS400, I didn't even need to be there as arranged for the keys to be left available, non starter so had to be loaded on the winch. Dropped off to the door for £80.00 cash after originally starting at £120.00 inc VAT. Always worth haggling with striaght cash :)

  4. Sorry Rudy Its actually 25k miles I noticed as I had to go for my paper this morning in the Lexus as the Jiffy failed its Mot due to suspension problems caused by the bloody roads we have here.

  5. I would rather sit and watch a piece of aluminium rust.

  6. If it has factory fitted park assist then you will see the sensors on the rear bumper, 4 of them, they should also be colour coded to the bumper. You should have 6 in the front bumper also. You can switch the park assist off and on from inside the cabin, to the right of the steering wheel next to the switch that you use to adjust the wing mirrors. The wiring you are seeing may not be for the park assist system, these cars are all wires, they fart by wire.

  7. I've heard of this, but despite my cleaning discs with course grit wet and dry I'm still getting a wobble, so I'll get a new set and skim the old ones. Pete

  8. It looks beautiful - will you miss the LKA from the LS460, or will you attempt the hack that has been suggested on the forum to partially enable it on your LS600hL? I'd be tempted by a 2010 LS600 when they fall below £20K, especially with the 5 seat rear relaxation pack and full LKA enabled. Currently though they are still around £36K

  9. Good job matey :) One of the things that you will need to do though mate, is fit a fuse block on the power cable coming from the battery to protect the system? (unless you allready have?) Always FUSE and PROTECT any wiring system :) I used one of the silver D clips on the boot floor for my ground/earth wire and seems to give a good earthing point but will be going direct to the battery when i re-do mine? You can get a RCA convertor from Halfords so that you can use the RCA imputs on the amp, It basicly wires in the same way as you have it coming from the rear speakers but lets you plug in RCA leads which is how i did it on mine, and is another way of getting sound to your sub :D Will be hopefully fitting some of my system this weekend as i now have a few more bits to fit, just bought a new double din headunit and some more speakers B) VIBE SEK 60 6.5" 345w -115 WRMS 2 way COMPONENT SPEAKERS (front doors) Vibe SEK-6x9 575w - 175 WRMS 3-way Speakers (rear shelf) Vibe QB 6x9 3-way 600W - 200WRMS Rectangular Speakers (ski hatch) Fli 2 x 12" 2000w amplified sub box (will be changing this to a Twin 12" VIBE box soon) Just got to sort out some amps and sound proofing and then get it all fitted :)
