  1. I bought my '04 with 82,000miles and full Lexus service history from Lexus Hull one year ago for £7000. Many would have said that was over priced but everything about it was right including the fact that the dealer had supplied the car to last owner who had it for seven years. I am very pleased with my purchase. It is gold with black interior which to my eye is perfect with the red wood trim. Do check for rust underneath especially at the back. Do not just assume because it is a Lexus there will be no rust. Also check everything works for that sort of money and that the cam belt was renewed at 10 years. Check the air suspension cycles up and down. Why not phone Lexus Sheffield and see if their service manager will talk to you about the car. Good luck

  2. Hi All Just in case anyone else has this problem Yesterday I was in a car park with engine/everything off. When I started engine all lights came on as normal but also a warning light ' Steering Lock On'. and as stated steering wheel was locked and engine would not start. Nothing seemed to clear it so I thought I would exit vehicle and lock/unlock it. Started it again.-- no broblems -- warning light disappeared.

  3. i have to say i'm sceptical about the waterless cleaners i dont understand how they work, as in how they dont scratch the paintwork when your using a cloth that is holding all the grime and grit surely there has to be an chance of grit at some point being on the top of the cleaning cloth next to the paint ,i dont think its a chance i want to take.

  4. I've had no issues in the winter months, here in the UK or Europe. You still got to drive to the conditions.

  5. If having service at Toyota they will not be able to do the hybrid health check plus if you have extended warranty it is a condition to use Lexus service. I used my local Toyota dealer whilst in manufacturers warranty as I know them very well. I see you location is Somerset so why Cardiff? I use them as they are nearest but would have thought Bristol is nearest for you.

  6. HI I also have a GS450h, yes I do use winter tyres and I do alot of miles in Europe during the winter period. They make a huge difference in all conditions. I run Nokian tyres but I would also recommend WinterConti from Continental. wayne

  10. I love my car sound now it sounds like a real V6 and gives more fun. When driving under a load and gently depress the gas pedal it is very noticeable in range of 1500 - 2500 rpm. Over that the sound is brilliant. Quiet but nice roar in background. One thing more the pipes size is also very important so the smaller pipe the quieter is system but it cant be too small because it would make gasses to flow slower and have bad influence on your engine. My pipes if I well remember are 2inch/2.25 or 2.25/2.5 inch.

  11. Hi I had exactly the same problem. If you want to keep your exhaust as stock sounding as possible do not got into whole cat back replace. Just do a middle piece which is damaged and leave rear end as it is. It will be louder anyway if they fit a free flow muffler. It is good to ask for a chambered muffler this is the best option if you want to keep your car quiet. If you want to experiance a wild beast go for a cat back system without middle muffler. With middle muffler it will be quieter but still loud. My exhaust now is made from chambered middle muffler (the biggest they could fit), and free flow both rear end silencers. To sum up: - stock OEM exhaust - silence - chambered middle muffler and two free flow on the end - silence on highway, a bit of nice roar in range of 1500-2500 rpm - whole cat back free flow - loud system especially when driving under a load - without middle muffler - sound like a race car and you cant hear your own thinking. I hope it help you.

  12. When I got my first set done, AP tyres in Rotherham they had a set in direct from Lexus Sheffield that they had just done so it was just a case of asking for mine doing the same as those. The second set I has done were done anthracite which at the time assumed would be the same as the Lexus grey colour only to find that they were in fact darker in colour. The Lexus grey colour is a lighter metallic colour and in my opinion better, the photos I have in my gallery are all the the Lexus grey colour. I assume Lexus grey is gun metal grey but not 100%, might be worth checking with Lexus to ask them what colour they ask for when they get wheels refurbished.
