  1. Hi. Just chopped my Merc C250 CGi Estate in for a CT200h which I'm picking up in a couple of weeks. First Lexus, and I've been seriously impressed with the CT on the test drives - it's nothing like the reviews. Ended up with a Luxury in velvet black with ivory leather. Looking forward to becoming part of the community. Guy

  2. Parking with the car facing downhill can fllod the boot, if you look in the rear corners of the opening you will see a black plastic moulding which is part of the rear window trim. Water builds up here on both sides then overflows into the boot. Several owners have drilled holes in the rear corners and then fitted drain pipes leading out under the car.

  3. That looks like he's done a great job. Especially without having to repaint the whole wheel and done within an hour.

  4. It does depend on the car you come from. Our previous C220 CDI had some horrendous lag, not to mention the power used to come in a lump which meant that it'd spin the rear wheels and then run out of puff. Ive hardly noticed much lag in the IS300h in comparison and its much nicer to drive.

  5. Thats great MPG! I cant get over 50mpg. Its the hills and the heavy size 12 foot thats playing against me here!

  6. I had the same happen to me recently and two weeks after getting it repaired it happened again in exactly the same spot which incidentally was the same spot as yours. its a bumper off and respray to do it properly. cost me £270 from a reputable paint sprayer near me. the annoying thing is no matter how good the spray job you attend to notice a slight difference in colour. In my case with silver its to do with how the metallic flec sits in the paint. Would have to spray in both side panels as way to completely blend at additional cost. hope you get it sorted quickly as there is nothing worse than driving with damaged bodywork.

  8. tonight i had a eureka moment and after 5 minutes work the loose heat shield has gone i had a bolt off a childs scooter that had quick release fittings ,the attached picture shows part of the quick release fitting. remove a heat shield bolt and replace it with whats in the picture, tighten the bolt up and the lip on the washer presses on the insert in the heat shield and clamps the insert to the shield. jobs done

  9. Was in the Lexus dealer today to sort a rattle and the wInsert other media heel guy was there so got it repaired. Pretty pleased with it :) The guy said because it was close to the edge he could feather the paint after rubbing it down which seemed to work. Was all done in under an hour for £84 inc VAT so not the cheapest but happy with the finish. Think the paint is a bit soft still as it felt it to the touch but guess after a day it will harden.
