  1. Ah, I have eclectic tastes young Jedi ;)
  2. I used the clay on my GS just before JAE and was surprised as to how quick and easy it actually was. Results are brilliant too - really chuffed with the results - it looked the dogs kahunas!
  3. So not that bad then thank goodness - thought my maternity-leave fund was going to take a real hammering!
  4. women in comfortable shoes? Er no, sorry, that's more than one word... DAMS
  5. Not sure if my skill set is of particular help to anyone here but I am in marketing, specialising in customer marketing/intelligence, with experience in PR and events. (Anyone wanna gis a job?!) If I can ever be of any help, my MSN is thegroves at hotmail.com And if not on the marketing side, rest assured I make a damn good cuppa!!!
  6. Cheers, will try that tomorrow. The red dust is all on the inside of the wheel and it seems to be 'weeping' through to the outside. If it is the bearing, any ideas as to rough costs? _____________________________________ Service history etc on the car shows it's had the calipers freed in the past, and the steering bushes have been replaced.
  7. -- Buster Rhymes and Mariah Carey - can't remember the name of the song though (something about going from bus seats and 50 cent sodas, to Hondas to Lexus to Rover) -- Lloyd Banks from G-Unit mentions Lexus too, but my amazing goldfish memory won't allow me to remember the song title.
  8. Following on from my previous post where I mentioned I had a grating noise coming from the car/wheel - tonight I got home to see a dusty brick red gunk all over the left nearside front wheel. My husband's had the wheel off and can't see anything in particular, but for sure nothing is rubbing and nothing we can see would be responsible for the grating noise. So, with the noise and the gunk all over my wheel, we're wondering if it could be a wheel bearing but are really not sure. I'm resigned to the fact I'll have to take it in to Lexus (unless anyone can recommend a good independent in Bracknell or surrounding areas - am on a tight budget here ) but wondered if anyone can give me some pointers as to what it's likely to be and what it's likely to set me back! Cheers peeps :)
  9. Anything with wires stuck out of it!!
  10. Don't know if Lexus can do it, but it's fairly easy to do yourself. Just wrap any sensitive spots like the electrics in clingfilm to protect them, spray some cleaner (Halfords do them so does Autoglym), agitate with a paintbrush, then spray with a hose or a jet wash (although latter I've always been a bit wary of as it's so powerful).
  11. That sort of a problem I can cope with Rod! Thanks, will get Simon to look tonight - having a big bump isn't condusive to being able to crawl around on the ground to look properly!
  12. Good for you Pete if you could pull it off without being prosecuted or being retaliated against!! Took the route of trying to sort out local youths vandalising around where I used to live. Had every panel on my IS smashed in with a brick and the rear windscreen smashed. Nothing in the car was stolen (despite camera and CDs in the glove box). The police wouldn't/couldn't do anything and I was then left in no doubt it wasn't safe to be out by myself at night. Would I do it again? No. Mine and my families safety is paramount and the people doing the thieving don't have the principles I have, and I expect would take any path to get what they want <sigh>
  13. Would that just happen on one side though? It's not a noise I've ever noticed before now and it's quite noticable :-(
  14. Japanese Performance Show 2004 Santapod Raceway, North Bedfordshire October 10th from 9.00am The show promises to be bigger, better and with even more action than ever. Following the success of last year's show the organisers have arranged loads more traders, better catering facilities, insane demo cars, and even the preview round of their new performance street car race series! We've got a club pitch with 30 spaces. Please register your interest here if you'd like to come along. If we need more spaces we will look in to this. Also worth noting this event also gives you an opportunity to 'Run What You Brung' (RWYB) To read a review of the 2003 show please check out the following link: http://www.japshow.com/jap%20performance%2...preview2003.htm Santa Pod Raceway is located in northern Bedfordshire extremely close to borders with both Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire. The raceway is situated near the villages of Hinwick and Podington, which lie approximately two miles due east of the A509 carriageway. Throughout the racing season there are directional signs permanently erected from Junctions 14 of the M1 motorway For directions from all major roads, please see: http://www.santapod.com/files/DIRECTIONS%2...JOR%20ROADS.doc
  15. I'm hoping someone can offer some advice before I have to go to the expense of a trip to Lexus... My series II GS300 Sport is making a sort of grating noise when I turn the steering wheel to the left when driving - almost as if something is rubbing on the wheel arch. Noise (I think) is coming from the right hand side but not sure if it's front or back. Had a quick look underneath but couldn't immediately see anything loose. Will get my other half to take a look tonight - but wondered if anyone had any pointers?
  16. I've now received the passes in the post for this. Will double check how many I have and those of you that have expressed interest will get first refusal. Everyone else is still welcome, you'll just have to pay on arrival! We also need to work out the 4 concours-class cars representing the club in the indoor-display area. Thanks, Claire
  17. Congratulations! The best of luck to you both for your new life together!!
  18. Used to get 350 miles from my IS200 using Optimax and that was extra-urban driving.
  19. Hiya Mitch - good to see you back!
  20. Mk II GS's as well Maneesh? Always worth making a note just in case!
  21. Would love to have gone - let us know how you get on and have fun!!!
