  1. I've had a few glitches using Firefox but it's OK using Safari. I did notice during the changeover LOC.com was offline with the new version and has now gone back to the old version there again they don't have Steve in admin to sort out the problems like we do. It's a shame you guys are having problems you missed out on the free raffle then yesterday for a brand new ISF!
  2. I'm using Firefox ( latest version for iMac) but it's OK on Safari. Cheers, Steve. BTW it all looks good thank you for all your time and effort
  3. Steve, Could you sort the "Login" button as it seems partially obscured at the top of the screen. Cheers
  4. Just had a thought regarding the B+Q "20% off everything when you spend £50.00" the critical word here is everything. So I go to my local store and buy a selection of items worth £50.00, when I get to the checkout till and ask them how much cash they have, reluctantly they reply £1000.00,I say I'll buy all that and give them £800.00 for it ( 1000- 20%= 800!!!),pay for the items I bought and walk out with the items and £150.00 profit. If Carlsberg made B+Qs!!! I did once go to a Poundland store in Coalville where " Everything is a pound" and asked the spotty teenager behind the desk to confirm everything was a pound to which he replied yes, the look on his face when I put a pound coin in his hand and asked for the cash till was amazing. He obviously ( probably underage) did not drink Carlsberg as he refused.
  5. I agree there should be a 2 point lapbelt probably tucked under the seat base or stuffed in the centre armrest area in the seat back,if it's under the seat base there is a tutorial on www.lexls.com that explains removal of the seat base.
  6. There was a write up and a competition to win this stuff in Car mechanics magazine looks good to me.
  7. Like these, you can also get red coloured bulbs cheaper. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Invisible-Chrome-Bul...=item587dcadde7
  8. Hi, Did you buy them as UK spec lights? If they are US spec they will be different as rear fogs are not required in the US or Japan. Another thing you may find is the inner clusters which fit onto the boot lid section will be the wrong size as the US ones are longer because of the square type number plate. Just had a look at the ones on Ebay.com and I would think the outer clear sections are for the indicators so will need orange bulbs fitted and the inner section clear is for the reversing lights. If you have 2 sockets on each of the red sections the tail/stop lights will go on the outer cluster and the fog light on the inner red cluster.
  9. Welcome to the LOC. If it has just passed an MOT I would doubt there is anything seriously wrong with the front suspension, you normally get a knocking/clonking noise when going over bumps when there is a problem. What type and quality of tyres do you have fitted? Are they the same on the front? If you have the original wheels and tyres recheck the pressures according to the handbook, make sure the calipers are free and not causing brake binding ( the sliding pins do have a tendency to seize). I would check all this out before you spend money you may not have to.
  10. This may help found it on a search. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/lof....php/t6957.html
  11. It sounds like a common problem with the passenger side coil to distributor lead, it should pass through a rubber gromit under the spark plug cover but it is a pig to fit correctly and consequently gets missed off, the lead is then free to chafe and the result is what you now have. I have a spare new lead if you need one just PM me your address and I'll pop it in the post FOC.
  12. Got to agree Maplins are an invaluable source of hard to get parts, I find RS Components has one of the hardest website to navigate and CPC never have anything in stock anymore and if they do the price has increased. If you have an account with maplins the prices also drop to "trade"
  13. The key word here is "Kwik Fit" renowned for "creating" work for themselves or they were due a VOSA visit and had to look the part. As soon as new discs are fitted and that protective coating is removed they begin to corrode, when they get wet they rust, all normal occurances. I've just posted on another topic about a local "Fast Fit" place that did my 1st MOT when I got the car and they advised front discs corroded and brake flexi pipes worn, 3 MOTs later at my local independent and the matter has not been mentioned since with the original parts still on the car. If the emissions were over the limit the car would have failed. Have you checked the tyre yourself, if it is worn to the limit I understand kwik Fit sell new tyres!lol BTW even though the car is an import it should still be OBDii compliant and any decent code reader should do the job
  14. Similar thing with mine, the 1st year I had it I took it to a local "Fast Fit" place for the MOT as it was "1/2 price MOT on Wednesdays" and I got advisories on Front discs corroded and front flexi pipes worn. 3 MOTs later at my local independant and no mention since!!!! I would imagine ( cue Ormi) that the advisories stay on the VOSA computerised system and therefore you would think the tester armed with this information would double check any advisories the next time a test is performed but I guess the discretion factor is also involved.
  15. I've only just seen this topic and went past the place today twice, I could have called in and looked genuine by arriving in another Lexus!
  16. Most insurance policies will state re commuting "to your permanent place of work" so if your company sends you to a different place of work from usual it is then classed, as stated previously, as business use
  17. Hello and welcome to the LOC. We used to have meets for all Lexus models at Doncaster but not for a while now. Probably get some organised later in the year. As for "non damaging" events with the amount of potholes on the roads you will be lucky to get there without any damage
  18. That is good I pay £39.00 but they do collect and redeliver the car. How did you miss a split wiper blade when it passes in front of your face 15 times a minute
  19. Or you could buy 10 bulbs with the holder for £5.45 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BOX-OF-10-24v-1-2w-C...=item20a992ce33
  20. It looks like you have to remove the shocks to extract the fixing bolts although this could just be for air suspension models as I think with springs there is enough clearance to get them out, then it's just a case of removing the ball joint retaining nut and splitting the ball joint out of the arm. Like the others have said I would estimate given it's basically a 17mm socket, breaker bar and a BJ splitter and a garage environment to work in a max of 2 hours labour. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/suspension/fupperarm.html
  21. I replaced my stock unit with an aftermarket in my 1994 and got the facia adaptor plate from the USA for around $16.00 and it looks OK I think they do one for the later model. Try here. http://stores.ebay.com/DK-SUPER-STORE__W0Q...;LH_TitleDesc=1 You can also get the loom adaptors.
  22. I seem to remember seeing them on Ebay.com Or I did a search on GOOGLE and found these. http://www.toys4cars.co.uk/index.php?main_...oducts_id=32937
  23. According to the diagram the headlight is held in with 4 fixings ( 3 bolt fixings and a nut located behind the side light assy). I'm not sure with the MK3 but on the MK2 to remove the sidelight remove the single screw attaching the black plastic bracket of the sidelight to the top of the wing rain channel and lift up the flap, then with a lot of effort put the side light towards you griping it along the bonnet grill side. They are held in by metal posts into a yellow plastic retainer fixed to the bodywork. I have removed mine several times and never broken the light assy but did manage to break one of the retainers, just go for it.
  24. Hi, Yes the cover is available seperately part # for 1999-2005 IS200 models is 87910-20040-** ( RHS) and 87940-20040-** ( LHS) ** is the ident code for the colour. If you provide your exact model year and colour I can give you the exact part numbers.
  25. The tyres don't have to be removed from the rim just to replace the valve, they normally just deflate the tyre, push the beading off the rim on the valve side then there is enough room to refit the valve. There again that will be around a fiver a wheel. A little grease on the valve cap threads will ensure the same doesn't happen again.
