  1. if this was arranged would it be for just lexus owners and on the same day? I would well be up for it...midlands is a good plan! as im from south area, wouldn't want to trave too far.
  2. I would be up for it. depending on distance to travel.
  3. I am suprised how much the grass was like ice... Luckily somebody had taken the posts out where my car finished up
  4. Got the car checked out today...Appart from all the plants stuck under my car, no real damage. cross member for the chassis has a small dent in it garage said nothing to worry about, centre exhaust silencer has a small dent, tracking is spot on...must have corrected it following that pot hole incident last week. All i need to do is get a new tyre and do some overtime to make back my £300. I would be interested in a skid pan day...not only would it be a bit of fun, i can also learn something that i obviously need. Was increasing in speed but not hard...Had somebody overtaking me at the time, can't think what they must have thought. Whats a VSC then? Had the AA recover me...they only did a local recovery to within 10miles...i then had to get another recovery from that drop off point to home.
  5. Hi. The policeman actually said to write/complain to the council...not being funny just thought it would be a wasted effort but then thinking if there was a bike come round , he wouldn't stand a chance...then its kinda my fault for not doing something about it. Cheers
  6. Hello everybody. I had a bit of an eventfull sunday (yesturday) took a trip to Peterborough with my girlfriend...driving all nice and easy checking my fuel economy. Hammering it down with rain comming off a roundabout doing about 20-25mph when the back end of my IS200 sport slides out, putting us into a spin, onto the left hand side grass verge...once on the wet grass i did a full 360 and seeing a ditch a trees coming towards us i really started to battle my car and managed to stop about 5feet from the ditch...ditch actually turned out to be a 15ft near vertical drop into trees (with other car parts on the slope) As i got out of my car to see if all was alright, I found passenger side front tyre flat and a little crease in my drivers side door seal. Tried to move my car from its parked possition and was just bogged down (being lowered probably didn't help) Police turned up and said that I wouldn't be the last person to loose it at that spot and that the road is in really poor condition, he did comment on how most people hit the central reservation. but i went the other way...possibly due to tyre blowing out? and taking me onto the grass. Anyway, had to get the car winched and recovered home (didn't want to risk driving it if i had undercar damage) £300 for recovery, home, dry and in one piece. Damage so far, i think i have got away with it. Checked out tyre this evening and have side wall damage on the inner edge (possibly caused by pothole) Corner spat popped off (repaired tonight) a few scratchs from the plants. Getting the underside checked tomorrow from my local garage so will keep you posted. Will get some pics on here too. A scarey moment that could have been very painfull...Suprising too as i wasn't driving like a fool, it just happened so quick...watching the roundabout afterwards and seeing cars coming off, A few cars were twitching including another IS200.
  7. hi. welcome to LOC Have had my prolex induction kit for few months and still very happy with it (pictured in my Avatar) it uses an Apexi filter and sits quite far forward. The Injen one i have only seen on ebay, by the looks of things it kinda takes a long way round then sits close the exhaust manifold...my guesses with this was not as free flowing and warm. Im no pro' on this subject. Hope you enjoy your IS. tis a great car...well mine is :)
  8. I like them, they do look good! havnt got round to putting my decals on yet
  9. hi dont know about tyres but alloys if they have corroded...as we all know lexus are known for it.
  10. i wont say i owned a vectra, just borrowed it for a short time...anyway that stunk of egg for a little while, Gave it a damn good thrashing (safely without breaking the speed limit you understand :winky: ) during the drive it did get very strong then cleared up. I put it down to blocked cat...have also heard of this to sort out emmisions. Forte is a very good fuel system/injector cleaner (if you can find it)...if not STP injector cleaner is good (STP black bottle)
  11. I like those rims, was going to get them for mine, Kei RSS, they do them in hyperblack, gloss black, gunmetal and hypersilver, i was going for the gun metal. I was more concerned if they would rub on the caliper, but easy to overcome that! Got a price last week, 18's with budget tyre £1200...scared me off a bit!
  12. Thanks for the reply Chips. I did those checks after hitting the bump and got no movement, so things must be good their. I knew that little test for wheel bearings, handy to know its for ball joints too. When I painted my calipers the other week i gave all the joints under their a spray with 3in1. Steering feels good, just braking with the vibrations. Thanks again for the advice, im sure others will benefit from this too :)
  13. Howdy Had my car lowered just before christmas, car drives all nice and smooth, wheels even balanced well! out for a drive at the weekend hit a bump in the road (couldn't see it, just felt it) and now my tracking is all over the place bl***y typical, everytime i brake the steering vibrates from side to side like a :tsktsk: :tsktsk: toy. (some imagination needed there). Hmm and theres us paying our road taxes, council taxes for this pleasure! When i get the tracking sorted do i need to tell the garage that its been lowered so they compensate for this...(not getting it done at the same place) Right thats me done moaning! Anyway...How do i know if my ball joints are on there way out? Does an MOT check them? Cheers in advance. Aaron
  14. would like to see a piccy of that when its complete.
  15. I agree. I keep my car in a garage, when i start my car up if theres anybody in the room above they can feel the vibrations through the floor. the silencer does work very well, took my partners parents out for a meal last weekend and it was like the standard one was back on there...of course it come straight off again...not really into being quiet.
  16. My '99 (T) IS200 Sport is on 107000...had MOT few weeks ago, passed! not even 1 advisory :)
  17. ok thanks people, all very helpfull, i know exactly what to do now.
  18. i like new and old wheels, any centre caps? slammed does look very good but very annoying i would expect...once you get off your driveway. :winky: great choice of tyre too.
  19. cheers for the reply. when using spacers do you need to put in new studs to hold the wheels on, or is there enough thread for the wheels?
  20. Hi Am looking at getting some new alloys, I want to keep with the 17" option. Thinking of Kei RSS to be exact, 7 x 17" Has anybody fitted this size/type and did they have to modify the calipers for them to fit? Thanks in advance Aaron
  21. hello. I had a rear shock replaced late last year and it cost me £68.95 incl VAT. It wasn't fitted by Lexus so dont know if it is a geniune Lexus part.
  22. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/knowledge...ex_v2&id=24&c=5 follow this link for a step by step.
  23. did you alow the paint to dry and harden fully? when i did the hus on a previous car i stupidly put the wheel back on when they were wet and few weeks later it was stuck.
  24. I would say that you do need to take off the caliper, cos you would have to push the piston back to get the new pad in. there was a thread on breaks a while ago...step by step instructions
  25. Used mine today being quite hot, had a shifty at the inspection bit and would seem i may need a re-gas. can this be done yourself and whats involved?
