  1. probably would be £1K for that lot if I did go to lexus but I shan't as its not worth it. I droped it into my local garage that have looked after my cars before, this morning. I will find out later what the damage will be and let you know. I asumed the worst that it will be new pads and discs and reconditioned caliper or it could just be a seal kit. Id love to upgrade but I dont have the money at the moment and I drive like a grandad at the moment so the brakes as standard are fine for me but thank you for reminding me. That plastic part above is about £30 inc VAT from Lexus so thats pretty good. Aparently they are quite common to brake especialy when going through puddle's! ah well it's all good. All this was written by me! Damn Kazi left himself logged in at work again! PS please do not think I'm schizophrenic!
  2. I spoke to mates dad about it as he used to be a mecanic and we couldn't work it out. went through a list and tried tugging on the wheel and it's solid so not the ball joints. also after about 2 hours I drove in it again and no problems so I was really stuck with ideas but on the way home the car just didnt seem right; I touched the discs when I stoped all were cold except the passengers front, that was red hot so the brake is binding. at least I know now, just hope it's not too much money.
  3. I need one of these: It's a protective plastic tray that goes under the car on the drivers side next to the exhaust. it just broke off on the motorway this evening! On another note, the car has sudenly started to have a shake through the whole car between 50-65mph quite bad but not too scary. any ideas? i asumed it was tracking or perhaps wheel balance but i havnt kerbed the wheels recently or hit anything too bad on the road. Bit worried but i still love my car. please help. Many thanks. Craig
  4. I just buy the halfords ones, there's a light blue and a dark blue one together. I think there pretty good I now use them instead of chamois leather.
  5. get the stereo adapter off e-bay. it just plugs into the other end of the inbuilt amp and doesn't wreck the cars wiring. I cant find one at the moment but I think there listed as 'lexus Stereo amp by-pass lead'. then fit the stereo yourself. you can get a genuine stereo facia from lexus at £45, it will blend in with the rest really well.
  6. that's on a seperate part though so surely it will not affect it. the origional part is aparently an exact match, I think scarface first pointed it out. I'm sure it is a single din but can't be a hundred percent sure. try and contact scarface.
  7. sounds good to me, im sure that will work.
  8. it costs about £500 for all the parts WITHOUT the screen, the screen is £1500! not many get rid of the sat nav screen for no reason and not many IS are scraped every day so suply and demand makes them the price they are.
  9. I don't use it verry often as the nearest shell garage is 25miles away but v-power is the best. It's alot better than BP ultimate and cheaper.
  10. who did you give your details too?
  11. me too in 'royal saphire'. :D I got my blue one from Chris.S for £35 about 3 months ago. now got an LE grill on; I can't decide wich I like best!
  12. well the misses drove the car this week and got 100 miles to £20! she's got a pretty heavy foot, makes me nervous! :duh:
  13. chances are that if its anything like my old starion or my mates primera its the 'throttle position sensor' it wasn't cheap though, about £200. gave the exact same simtoms as you've stated. cleaning the throttle body and i asume sensors aswell will help.
  14. how was it knackard? surely it would knacker the pin thing before the actual nut? I used mc guard on me old car and they seemed fine, no problems why not do what i did, take the nuts off one by one and then put copper slip on the inside thred and push some slip inbetween the metal ring and nut on the OEM locking nuts. I have had no problems with mine and they've been off a few times, just don't over torque it. I think its 80ftlb's wich is about 110nm's
  15. I'd say £20 for 120 miles is about right with some miles urban and some extra urban. it's pretty much what I get. I get 150miles tops to £20.
  16. wichever you pick make sure you colour code them, no nasty carbon effect, if they were real carbon fiber then great. Silver checkers; leave it on a mini cooper!
  17. you are right as the standard old, new and LE grill all have been chromed before painting. I have no idea why on the LE because its all black and the old and new standard ones have a chrome ring round them as shown in pic above so it does make a little sense but why chrome the whole lot before painting? you could try paint stripper but I dont know if it wont affect the chrome effect. it may be paint not actual chrome underneath.
  18. useless, they all are. I ordered a set of brake discs for the starion, asked for the later 5 stud, vented and larger discs that fit my car not the older one. they stood there like the churchill dog nodding away and what arrives? 4 studed, solid, small brake discs? then they had the cheak to try and charge me £150 ontop of my order because the ones that they should be were £150 more! not good at all, I feel for you.
  19. if there's something special that you want to do, book it it early. if not don't worrie too much. Tennis courts and badminton courts are plenty everywhere else so I asume it's the same where your going. I think if you cancell an activity more than 24hrs in advance you get your money back.
  20. ok I thought they must have photo shoped it some how until i seen the outtakes! that must have taken day's weeks no years to do. :duh: :duh:
  21. good for you. It's good that some people can do it. so how do you afford the Lex then? I manage an Orange Mobile Phone Shop. I am looking for another job at the moment.
  22. how did he key it, surely the tint is on the inside. anyway; If asked he would have to admit he pulled you over, if so you have got him a little bit because it backs up your story, if he denies it then at least you dont have to get them un-tinted as he has never told you about it!?
  23. is there no traffic lights there then? if there was, why was no one obaying them and if there wasn't why was everyone driving so fast?
  24. here you go. if you want them done better please provide a clear picture of your car from a 90 degree angle of the side, it makes it alot easier and faster and a better representation. I like them alot, i think they suit it very well.
