  2. the flame thrower is not available in RSA,I was there a few weeks ago and asked about it - bottom line was have one and use it then say hello to ´Buba´ ur new cell mate! cheers robbie.
  3. no, no.no! please dont, getting flashing visions of scoobys, boy racers,"on a mission" stickers and those horrid iluminated windscreen washer nozzles!!! lol cheers robbie.
  4. ahhh south africa - well lets say that the labour is cheap, but the engineering capability is huge, in durban there is one of the biggest toyota plants and also there is a bm plant that ships to the US and europe, enough said!. cheers robbie.
  5. well when we were in RSA they would just shoot them or run them over!! Best security device was an anti hijack system, if u were carjacked you would hit a switch as u got out and then the system would cut the engine after about 2 mins and sound the alarm. Keep the car and get away safe. cheers robbie.
  6. ahhhh hhhaaahhhh got it! question is - is that on the new uk 200/300? if not why not!
  7. ooohhh cheeky ! we're not all porkers you know :P LOL cheers robbie.
  8. I know that this isnt much help to you wallace but the 200 version i saw in RSA has a phone connection built into the rear view mirror, there was also a photo-electric cell in there as well for some reason! any ideas people, the auto light sensor was still on the dash. sorry mat - photo cell was in the back of the mirror - auto dim one was on the front next to the glass. cheers robbie.
  9. hi rob, I got mine from Matt! ( cheers BTW), but there are loads of places selling them, think cheapest i have found was about $40. DONT use the yahoo site they are a rip off for prices. cheers robbie.
  10. hi guys, i,ve got the clear fogs in on mine ( also silver) i think i have a pic somewhere so when i find it ill post it on the gallery. it took a while for me to get used to it but i think it look nice now. The only prob is that when they are on u get a slight pink light instead of the red but there are loads of posts on 300.net about fixing that. Cheers robbie.
  11. i thought i was imagining the surge when in traffic , but now someone else has mentioned it! I seem to get it when im in 2nd and doing about 10 ish mph, havent noticed the difference if i have A/C on but then i dont have it on too often. cheers robbie.
  12. hi Jimbo, welcome to the club etc. well they havent solved the wheel problems yet but are supposedly working on it. As for the gearbox they have redesigned it but are not advertising the point that the origanal one is crap, even with the new one i still get the occasional stiff gear but will give it a while to loosen up. cheers robbie.
  13. have noticed that as well doesnt feel too stable in the wet, but think the yokohamas wont last as long thats the only thing? cheers robbie.
  14. the paint/ clearcoat is really soft( ie crap) so u have to be careful, it is meant to be anti chip but it isnt, thats why i got the x-pel kit on the bonnet and wings. I have one or two rusty chips on a pillar as well. cheers robbie
  15. yep im in, providing im in the country that is!!
  16. ok have now been told about the problem with the rusting on the brake disc drums, ( THANKS MAGIC! ) mine had already been changed when i got the car. If you have the new type disc there is a grey coating on the drum, easy to see, but you still get a dark mark around the drum from where it passes underneath the caliper! cheers robbie

hi richie, not sure if you saw the report last year on bbc topgear about stolen cars??? It showed that ALL the cars going thru dubai etc were stolen from japan and then were also shipped to Dublin. they made RH drive to LH drive changed 98 models to 2001 or even 2002 models had all the paper work labels etc etc. so if ur going to buy something make sure it has come straight from an auction in japan. because of the way japanese car laws etc are it is nearly impossible to re identify a stolen car and get away with it. cheers rob.
  18. Alton Towers was onlya suggestion and as we are planning to meet on a holiday weekend everywhere would be busy, but please everybody make a suggestion even if you dont think it is worth it. cheers rob.
  19. Back Again!!! LOL. Hi all, OK I had a long chat with mat tonight and plan to speak to some other members about our forthcoming meet sometime in March. The whole point of the meet is to put some faces to names, have a few drinks, chat and have a look at what others have done to their cars etc, because at the moment it is just a few names on a computer screen! It would be nice to go somewhere where we can all have a bit of fun, and a good day/s out, this is why i suggested Alton Towers. I have seen that some members are wanting to push for a track day but I suspect that the large majority of members will be unwilling to do this because: 1. track fee 2.tyres are not cheap 3. possible car damage ( this i suspect is the biggest reason) 4. not everybody´s thing. Due to the inevitable nature of internet clubs, members are all over the country, hence to be fair to everybody, it has been decided to hold the meet in a fairly central location( midlands area??) WE NEED SUGGESTIONS ON THIS PLEASE!!!!! Please remember this is YOUR club, you make it what it is. what do people think???? cheers robbie
  20. well when i say pre heat i mean you can get heat earlier from the A/C when compared to just allowing the engine to warm up and thus heating the cabin the traditional way. You will notice if you turn the air selector to w/screen then the A/C will come on, this "auto" and i use the word loosly, is meant to be used to defrost or clear the front screen quickly. cheers robbie.
  21. ok tony thanks m8, im trying to get my wheels replaced because of corrosion so will see what happens but if not ill try those guys as i kerbed one( now the spare) quite badly:(:( cheers robbie.
  22. oohhh, im sorry about this and dont wish to offend anyone here, but, nitrous that just looks plain nasty! the boot is small enough as it is never mind a whopping big tank in there. But i suppose if you do a lot of miles then its not tooooooo bad? I am a bit puzzled about one thing though - you say they drilled holes / placed a restrictor in the intake to stop or reduce the ram effect, but any ram effect the car would recieve at normal everyday speeds is negligable. cheers robbie
  23. I saw that the IS300 has a similar lip spoiler but it goes over the edge of the boot as well, I think that looks better than the 200 one. cheers robbie
  24. hi all, I think i will be in the UK around that time depends on work etc if we are going for a meet alton towers is as good as any, nice twisty roads around there and also a good day out, and if there are enough of us then a discount would be available ( park and a hotel?) but that all depends on numbers of course. another idea i had was in the mean time why dont team lexus members who are fairly close to each other have their own " mini meets" then at least that way we can put faces to names etc etc???? let us know what you think cheers robbie:cool:
