  1. Hey morph, where abouts is the wheel repair place in devon?? got a contact tel please? im in cornwall ( i.e wind watch back 200yrs when you cross the border) so needless to say no wheel repair places here!! cheers robbie
  2. i have to agree with you about the lack of torque, takes an age to accelerate, i also find the engine reluctant to rev freely, talking about the prelude a guy at work has one and he pulled away from me no probs in a sprint!!! oh the shame of it:( but not too convinced he didnt have a few mods himself!? cheers robbie
  3. well the only form of pre heater is the heating from the A/C and that isnt brilliant by any stretch of the imagination, can only think he is talking about the heated seats?? As for 6th being lower geared than 5th:o:wow: !!!! I think your dealer has won the "***** of the month award" for that great display of technical knowledge LOL cheers robbie. 4. cheers for the info Phil, I think i will have to go back to my dealer and see what i can do about getting mine changed, prob with the wheels is that if you dont clean them all the time they seem to to be easily marked by the dust and it is a nightmare to clean them, even with wonder wheels it takes ages, the rough surface doesnt help either. cheers robbie.
  5. i hate to püt a dampner on things guys but the yahoo site is the most expensive i have seen! eg $55 for a cargo net - they are only$25 from the dealer!! and mud guards $195!!!!!! you can get them from a uk dealer for 50 pounds they are charging 130 pounds!!! what do you think expensive or is it just me?? cheers robbie.
  6. i have the rallye bulbs from powerbulbs and they do make a fair bit of difference, but only have them on the dipped beam. the only thing you have to watch is as they are a higher wattage 70W compared to 51W is your plastic lenses/reflector for any signs of overheating - i havent had a prob but it is something you should be aware of!! cheers robbie.
  7. cheers m8 , thats great a lot easier BUT, not to be critical , what time zone are we using??? it says last active at 23.00 ( after posting) but its 1900 CET!???? cheers robbie.
  8. funny you should say about the starting problem, i also get that every now and then, on average every 6 - 8 weeks, but mine is outside all the time and it has also happened in the summer so not sure about the temp related possibility, with the fuel injection it shouldnt matter what the temp is, unless you are running a diesel of course (yes i know the IS isnt diesel). cheers robbie.
  9. well phil im sure we would all like to hear how u get on - let us know! was ur dealer difficult tried to fob you off when u complained about the corrosion?? cheers robbie.
  10. probs i have had: Gearbox - replaced under warranty with new redesigned box waterpump - replaced seat- squeaking alloys - pitting corrosion starting wheel alignment - not aligned ( fixed) loose speaker in drivers door ( fixed) poo - poo paint - anti chip? my botty!!!!! words changed due to anti swear policy on the site
  11. well i dont know about heated nozzles as you would probably need to heat the delivery pipes as well, this is posible u get elements from maplin for this job. even if u did wrap it round the rad top hose i think u will still get the un-heated exposed section of piping freezing. Are you using a cheap screen wash? as i dont see why you should have this prob, i had no probs in temps down to-17C, just used a good screen wash and a reduced amount of water, worked fine. cheers robbie. 12. here is a solution to the grip prob - I just threw a couple bags of sand in to the boot, problem solved! works 4 me so should work for others! cheers robbie.
  13. aaahhh javadude i see your neighbour is employing the ever popular cornish OAP method of reverse park: look straight ahead, engage reverse and keep going till you hit something then pull forward a little bit, but at all times keep looking forward! LOL. cheers robbie.
  14. I thought it was the same as we saw on the nissan primera a few years ago, I like the look of it but as u say richie, what if you get a scratch or keyed!!!!!!! big probs!. cheers robbie.
  15. well what do you think???? http://www.clublexus.com/cgi-bin/clublexus...JPG&img=328&tt=
  16. hi all, if you have read my trials and tribulations about the ******* g/box( in dealers section) i had, then here is a bit more info 4 you. if you are going to contact Lexus HQ to complain, then speak to RACHEL SAX in the customer care dept, the direct number is 01737 367601. she dealt with my prob and was very helpful in organising things. hope this helps. cheers robbie.
  17. hi all, just want to know if anybody has had parking sensors fitted? I have seen a few aftermarket ones but they all seem to have huge horrible black sensors, I believe the official ones are about £500 ( rip off) and they still dont look good. cheers robbie
  18. oh ok! thats a lot easier didnt know about it thats the only reason i suggested the home button. Thanks cheers robbie.
  19. Hi, would it be possible to have a "home" button on the forum main page. Saves having to click on "back to:teamlexus" and then enter in order to go to chat or the other sections. cheers robbie.
  20. I get stuff sent over from the US on a regular basis, but when I order anything I get it sent to a friends place in the US, she then posts it to me by regular mail after removing the invoice etc and adding "gift" on the customs declaration. Everything has so far been opened by customs but have never had a demand for duty. so if you know someone in the US thats the way to go also saves you a fortune in the postage! cheers robbie.
  21. LOL, thought i had super quick reply!! cheers 4 the link. as you say as long as we can still get flashed then alls ok! Did i read somewhere that there have been probs with the digital cameras reading the wrong digits? something to do with the camera only reading in horizontal strokes?? any more info greatly appreciated. robbie. 22. ok, as i understand it, it is legal to have either a scottish, welsh or english flag on your plate along with the country code eg for wales it would CYM. BUT it is ONLY legal within the UK not in mainland europe! so if you have a welsh flag with CYM you will still require a GB sticker if you go to mainland europe, this also applies to scotland and england unless the GB code is on the plate. this is what i have gathered from the papers, but if anyone knows otherwise please post. cheers robbie.
  23. I was in south africa recently and visited a few dealers, I had a look at the 200 there, it has a centre armrest, which just sits in the storage compartment you loose about 1/2 of the space, it looked like it just bolts in and i would have got one but it would have taken 2 weeks to get it!!!! by which time I would have left the country. Have a good close look at the auto armrest and see if it is the same arrangement? ( never looked myself) you might have to a small mod though! on a seperate note the interior was fantastic, excellent full leather seats, middle section of seat still had the perforations, proper piping as well and both seats were electric, better carpet etc in all a far superior interior and the price R300,000 which at the moment works out at £18,750. UK being ripped off again!!!??? cheers robbie.
  24. Richie!! shouldnt you say den haag?? LOL, think it is the same one reconize the crap printing on the tyres! sent u message about meeting. cheers robbie. [Edited on 31-12-2001 by fluff34567]
