  1. I think Steve should sing something by Mariah Carey, he seems like the kind of guy that enjoys a challnege :P
  2. I wish I knew, I'm gonna bite the bullet and have the whole valeted (and probably fumigated too)
  3. My mate's next door neighbour told me to dump my girlfriend because my car would let me pick up as many chicks as i wanted. :D
  4. who do I make my cheque payable to? :o
  5. The only way I can think that this works is that it reduces the load on the alternator, thus reducing the amount of power it saps from the engine, but the amount would be absolutely negligible, almost unmeasurable.
  6. If you call 2 guys on BMW's high presence, then yeah ;) They've made the best stretch a 50mph zone just to make it more of a challenge to not get caught, too. To be honest, if you have time to look at the speedo, you ain't doing it right. One of our group was very lucky not to get minced, he overtook me on the inside of a right hander, then misjudged the following left hander and ended up on the wrong side of the road on a blind bend. I'd rather be slow than dead
  7. I just looked at the date and registered it as Sunday, it never crossed my mind to actually check. I'm a dufus. All was not lost though, I was out on my bike, went up to the Cat and Fiddle pass, and there was a rather nice F40 having some fun!
  8. So I get up this morning, all ready to go to the meet, check out the forum, just in case it's cancelled, and I realise I got my dates mixed up Sorry I missed it guys, hope you all had a good time. Hehehe, lucky I checked the board.
  9. I've got a couple of chips on the bonnet, but I have more problems with stone chips on the windscreen, now I have 2 small cracks
  10. I think you'll find it's Lexii, and a group of Lexii is a Lummox, as in "The Lummox of Lexii moved gracefully across the savannah..."
  11. damn, I forgot all about the magazine shoot. Have we seen the pics yet? (I was away on holiday)
  12. Nice to see a Skoda on the list, maybe you guys will understand why I like them so much :P Do we all get cute little name badges? :D
  13. What is this "cleaning" of which you speak? Note to self: never buy a car with a light interior ever again, especially not the floor mats
  14. I used to work for Capital Bank (originally NWS, now Bank of Scotland) and they invented GAP. They used to cover your car for the period of your loan for a one off payment of £200! How times have changed. It's worth it, if your car gets written off at bottom book value (usually the case) it covers the shortfall, which won't be huge on a Lexus, but if you bought a Ford, it was worth thousands in the event of a problem. Same applies if you car is nicked, I think.
  15. OK, so I'm histrionic, anti social and narcissistic. Cool. :D
  16. mine has a 2 way switch, but even in the gas position it starts on petrol, only switching to gas when the revs have gone over about 2500rpm for the first time.
  17. Theoretically, LPG is ideal for boosted engines as it has a higher octane rating than most petrol (105 I think) allowing you to run higher boost pressures, but you'd need to find a specialist, and the only one I've ever heard of is based in the US
  18. OK, this is my experience of an LPG conversion, and may not be the experience everyone has! Given the choice over, I would never have had it done. Powershift grant? Forget it, the only Lexus eligible is the GS300 for some reason. My car was the first IS200 to be converted by the company involved (parent firm AND franchisee). I opted for a full size tank due to the mileage I cover (minimum 100 miles per day). The car has never run right on gas ever. It ticks over too low, occasionally stalling, after a long time at high speed (e.g. a motorway run) as you slow down it often cuts out or has no power (particularly annoying when your trying to pull onto a busy roundabout), the gas consumption is horrendous (12mpg) making it cheaper to run on petrol. Even when running "correctly" the car is a little sluggish. My advice is: don't let them experiment on your car, wait till they do it to someone else's then test drive it. If you'd like, I'll e-mail you the details of the company I used so that you can avoid them like the plague.
  19. Ah, good old Stockport Lexus :) So how is it?
  20. many thanks rob, works a treat, saved me hunting it down
  21. IE on Win2K doesn't have .art support for some insane known-only-to-Bill-Gates reason Use the patch that rob posted up, it works a treat. Although my monitor melted slightly  [Edited on 8-3-2002 by NotoriousREV]
  22. it's like a sunroof, but you can only open it when the sensors for the auto headlights record that it's night time. ;) Isn't moon roof just the american name for a sun roof? [Edited on 7-3-2002 by NotoriousREV]
  23. funny, I was imagining something else entirely :D
  24. I'm right though, it does look badass ;)
  25. Hehehe, glad I'm not the only one. I flicked through it, saw the phrase "Thomas Hardy once said..." at which point I filed it in the round cabinet.
