  1. I had a go in the LS460SEL at the open road day and I was very impressed. Although, it's not a million miles away from the LS430. It's gonna be my next one too.
  2. Do you think the car comes with a colgate smile? Sorry about that, I've had a glass of wine tonight.
  3. Does having a black car remove the need for using clay as it seems the only muck you get off with clay is black muck?
  4. Im also for the GS430. I used to have a 2001 GS300 SE. Very smooth and quiet and it has one of the most awsome sounding 6 cylender engines you can get but since having changed to a LS430, you can't beat a V8. It is also proving just a little more expensive in terms of MPG than the GS300 was. Also you get the effortless grunt when you need it.
  5. I dont mind the cleaning matey as i spent nearly 7hrs doing my IS last weekend it does look sooooo nice in the black :D 7 hours, your arms must be the size of tree trunks for spending 7 hours cleaning. Do you have any paint left? Just kidding with you. I wish I had the time to spend on it. I love cleaning it.
  6. Thanks for your comments. It is nice to hear what people think. One thing I would say Aztecbandit is cleaning it takes ages. Washing took an hour and polishing took the best part os 2.5 hours. When you look for one, like I did you will see a black one and fall in love with it but all I can say is find a silver one. Then you have got half a chance of it staying clean.
  7. I know you have seen it before, but I do like showing it off. I've spent the best part of today with a bottle of Autoglym in one hand and a cloth in the other. http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x122/jsj24uk/LS10.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x122/jsj24uk/LS9.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x122/jsj24uk/LS8.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x122/jsj24uk/LS7.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x122/jsj24uk/LS6.jpg I do feel like an extra from the Sopranos driving round in it.
  8. Well, if Father Christmas was feeling really generous and sent us the Tom's Supercharger then I would bet that 200 would be a posobility.
  9. Don't get me wrong, I'm not planning to max it on the next bit of motorway I go on, I was just wondering (in a top trumps kind of way) what it's maximum speed is. My licence is my living.
  10. Goodevening everyone. I was just thinking the other day about the top speed of my 2004 LS430. Is it electronically limited to 155mph or will it go quicker than this if the limiter is removed? That is if it has a limiter.
  11. If it was me I would go for black. That's what I liked about my LS being astral black. Has a touch of the Soprano's about it. Keeps people guessing about what you may be carying in the trunk. I mean boot.
  12. That is a very nice clean IS you got there. If you ever feel the need to practice polishing, I've got an LS430 you could have a go at.
  13. Hi. I know that this is compleatly unrelated to Lexus but it is Japanese. I'm a driving instructor who does around 35,000 miles of start stop, reversing, emergency stop, etc driving per year. For the past 2 years I have used a 2000 Nissan Micra 1400cc SE+ with CVT auto which has just done over 77,000 miles. It is serviced every 9,000 miles by a Nissan dealer. I was wondering if anyone has had bad experiences with this gearbox and how long you think it might last? The engine is running really well and all it has ever needed was an oxygen sensor. It drives really well for a small car and my pupils love it. Would love to teach in my Lex though
  14. I don't think I have ever been the victim (that one is damn good) of a crank call but all I can say is the next time I am contacted by a conservatory company about buying a conservatory, then I am going to have them round for an estimate. Should be interesting as I live in a first floor flat.
  15. I must admit I never used the FM transmitter in my Lexus but in my Nissan Micra driving school car, I was quite impressed, but only after alot of experementing. The only place it would work was when I mounted it right near the radio. But, finding a big enough gap between radio stations was proving a pain. I found that removing the arial to the radio works wonders. Does anyone know how much Lexus charges to plumb in an Ipod in a 2004 LS430?
  16. If you want to hear the most sexy sat nav voice, you want to hear the one in the new Jaguar XJ. She sounds like she works for British Airways in first class. I was very dissapointed to find out that the same lady that lived in my GS300, also lives in my LS430. I knew she got about a fair bit.
  17. As petrol prices are now knocking on the door of a £1.00 per litre I was thinking of how I can save a bit of money (I know, saving money and owning an LS430 do not usually go hand in hand ). I was going to get petrol from the BP garage the other weekend but the queue was so long I popped down to my local Sainsbury's petrol station instead. Now I normally fill up on BP Ultimate and have used it my old GS300 for a couple of years and have used it in the few weeks I have owned my LS430. One thing I did notice was the proce difference between Sainsbury's Super Unleaded and BP's Untimate Unleaded. Now they are both 97RON so would they both be the same in anyone's opinion? There is about 4 or 5 pence per litre difference in the price and as you can imagine, filling up on 80 litres of petrol aint cheap . So, can anyone tell me the difference between BP Ultimate Unleaded at 97RON and Sainsbury's Super Unleaded, also 97RON. Many thanks.
  18. I just part exchanged my 2001 GS300 SE Nav at Lexus Hatfield. Sheldon green with beige leather interior. They want nearly £10,000 for it.
  19. I've had my 2004 LS430 for about a couple of weeks. One of the problems they had to sort out before I got it was a leaking air con pipe and I'm preety sure it was to do with the rear air conditioning which was discharging the whole system. When I picked the car up, I looked through the inner dealer invoices and I'm afraid you might not like the price. If it is the same problem as my one had, I'm preety sure it was £600 or there abouts to put right. Sorry for the bad news.
  20. I remember fitting a HID kit to my 2001 GS300. The worst part was fitting the bulb in the headlight. I hope the new owner is enjoying them as much as I did.
  21. Hi Everyone. Many thanks for your comments. I know what you mean Jamie. By the time I finished cleaning it, it was preety much dark outside. I spent the best part of the morning polishing it with Meguires so will try and get it out some time next week for a couple of day time photo's. All I can say is, that as nice as black is, I jsut know it is going to be a right pain in the backside to keep clean. My GS300 was sheldon green (preety much black) and that was a right pig to keep clean. Silver is probably the best way to go. One day, I might have enough money to preuse a colour chart and choose esxactly what I want. Finding an LS in the colour you like that the previous owner hasn't smoked in or trashed the interior was like finding a needle in a haystack so when this one came up, I had to get it.
  22. Hi people. Here are a few pics of the car after I gave it a clean. http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x122/jsj24uk/LS2.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x122/jsj24uk/LS5.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x122/jsj24uk/LS4.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x122/jsj24uk/LS3.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x122/jsj24uk/LS1.jpg Hope you like it. Let me know what you think. Cheers.
  23. In the next hour or two I will be washing my new LS430 with Maguiar's car shampoo. I was just wondering weather to put it in cold, warm or hot water for best results as the instructions don't specify. Many thanks.
