Just want to have all the info ready prior to letting the Mechanic loose on it ,. Importantly how to Change the Transmission Fluid: Locate the drain plug and how to fill it up again. 2. salaams, Hi and welcome to LOC.. Yes the Noel is right about Lexus thinking of dumping the Diesel i have heard them whispers too on some motoring programme M&M i think? But they are going to concentrate on the Hybrid Models and eventually release a replace IS in the same running Hybrid gear has the New LS400.. So i would either hold on at the mo and see what comes out mid 2008 or buy the petrol which will sell better once they drop the diesel. :winky: Dibs
  3. Cheers guys, i will give that a shoot in the next few days and report back.. :winky: But i have created another problem whilst replacing the front fogger bulbs, I managed to break one in the holder :tsktsk: and now cannot figure out how to remove it without damaging the fog-light.. The driver side twisted out fine, but the other one just snapped when i turned it and left the rest in the holder with no means to hold and turn it.. Might take the wheel off and the inner arch cover to gain better access over the weekend. One thing to note was that the both fogger units was covered with road crapp :shutit: and dirt etc... So was wondering if this was normal? Dibslpg
  4. Hi again, (Sorry if this is covered else where but I have tried everything to no avail) Headlights still get condensation in them especially now that winter is here I have installed the Demon eyes and re-sealed the light units using clear silicone and ever since I have never had them completely dry.. . After a hand wash I get mist / condensation in them, and now with the heavy rain it does the same. It is ruining the effect of the demon CFF light rings with a condensation patch across them. :tsktsk: I have silicone sealed the lights and put extra beading along the top and sides etc.. the only place that i can see moisture can get in is the hole left behind by the dim bulb-holders-. But i have the Demon eyes wiring coming out of that and it's taped it up using Duck-Tape has best has I can.. Still the moisture gets in. How can I silicone seal the Hole with out taking out the hole light unit again (very fiddly to get to with the gun)? Any suggestions to make the Headlights water tight permanently?... (maybe put a plastic bag on them ) any suggestions appriciated please before the water mess's the lights up totally. Dibslpg
  5. Second that very LOVEEEEEEEEEELY :D can i have two please? :P
  6. Hi again, on the same note of Headlights, How can i keep them damp free please? I have installed the Demon eyes and re-sealed (silicone) the lights several months ago and ever since I have never had them completely dry.. :tsktsk: . After a hand wash I get mist in one light, after it rains it does the same.. Now with the weather getting worse both lights have mist/damp in them.. :tsktsk: I have silicone sealed the lights and put extra beading along the top and sides etc.. the only place that i can see moisture can get in is the hole left behind by the dim bulb-holders-. But i have the Demon eyes wiring coming out of that and it's taped up has best has I can.. Still the moisture gets in :tsktsk: I am going to re-seal this hole with Silicone? And tape it up too this weekend.. Any suggestions to make the Headlights water tight permanently?... please before the water mess's the lights up totally.. Cheers :winky: Dibslpg..
  7. Thanks a lot DJ Wozza,fo rthe tip on the Fogger Bulbs "xenon HB4/9006 Front Fog" will have a quick look and post back up with a some pic's very shortly :winky: Cheers Dibslpg
  8. Thats all good, but how do you find out what your Pre-2001 CO2 emmisions are if you wich to know? Mainly i want to find out what my car throughs out when running on LPG (it's ment to be a cleaner/greener fuel) so it shoul dbe in the Alternative fuel band and hopefully cheaper to TAX.. or am i barking up the wrong tree ? Dibslpg
  9. I bought the WHITE XENON BULBS HEADLAMP from ebay and must say its great the main beam bulb looks brill when during the day because it has a blue tint and tints headlights blue too. :D Only problem is that i want the same type again for the Foggers but not sure which type they are? Any help please and mostlikly i will order them from the same chaps at Autobulbs direct on feebay.. Cheers Dibslpg ps. How do you upload pictures to this site? did a quick search and got confusssed so a idiots guide or a linky is appreceated? :P
  10. I too haev been on these courses when they first came out in Lancashire back in 20001, was held at the Burnley Football stadium. Was only doing 34 ina 30 :tsktsk: camera was hidden byover grown hedge and only manged to get the reg and bit of the car .. Was the best option compared to points and telling insurance for 3 years. Was a all day course and yes video, lecture then teamed up with instructors to go out and take a driving test to see if we learned anything :shutit: :tsktsk: . It was sitting a driving test allover again, but was assured he was only looking out for awareness of the speed limits of the roads and danger awareness eyc.. it does work and if yu can stand the lectures hopefully it will payoff and avoid anymore points etc.. Good luck Dibs
  11. How do you boost the FM signal (Aerial’s ) for the car stereo please? :tsktsk: The new DVD, mp3 etc. player has weak FM signal reception and too much interference. The last stereo was great (Kenwood) and once stored never really needed to tune it again. So the roof mounted standard aerial must be fine and so its down to the poor reception quality of the deck.. :shutit: Any ideas please, I have googled it and it mostly came up with digital TV in-car Arial boosters. Or better still can the standard stereo receive DAB via some sort of adapter, converter perhaps? Cheers ion advance for any pointers / links. ;) Dibslpg
  12. Only Problem is how do you campaign against the Gov.. you/we elected them in the first place + it's the biggest cash making cow for them ripping off the motorist.. :tsktsk: :tsktsk: SO we Got to make a start somewhere,. You forget the Brits a lazy and just moan about it. Unlike the French who have brought the country to a stand still/stop and at the most important time the Ruby cup. Best time to get your point across and the most impact i say. :D World media watching etc.. Last time the farmers stopped /disrupted the ports etc.. all the We managed to do was stop a few oil tankers several years ago (since then the petrol prices has doubled :tsktsk: ) so why are we not out again. All we need to say is half the Tax on the Petrol that’s all - I don’t buy the story that the profits made are pumped back into the motorist. Same thing is said about road TAX and so far the roads are a mess, most pot-holed in Europe etc,,(Leeds was voted the worst in the UK which is true). Why do we not have a proper Public transport system in place (the Germans/ French all have million times better and they are on time too) considering the money they most make from Petrol will pay for it twice over? So wake up people and lets make a stand. Join royal mail, public transport, nursing, teachers, civil servants etc. etc. works .on the picket line. The Number of Tax's we pay: Counci, Bills - energy, VAT, Import duty, Fuel, Road, car insurance tax, PAYE, Inheritance, House stamp duty etc.. the list goes on.. that i can think off.. All i am saying is we should pay a bit less TAX.. Alternative: its cheaper to move abroad (Antarctica perhaps?) than make a living in the UK) Huskies are cheaper to feed than the car. Rant over :duh: :winky:
  13. Meaning that if your name is IBRAR then it makes sence to place the black screw between the E&18 to make it look has if the E is not part of your name and it will read a lot better E(18RAR) If i can figure out how to post up the pic of my plate then i will do..?? Hope it helps. Dibslpg
  14. i remember taht a consumer mag or 5th Gear did some test to find out if these booter fuels made any diff to the proformance of the car.. your Shell V-power and Bp's stuff and Conclusion was not a bit just that they gave a lot less mpg and required more fill-ups thats all. might be wrong if so stand correct but i never bother with the stuff.
  15. I am sure that some of you must have by now seen the campaign to boycott petrol from BP and Esso See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it. Time to pick them banners up and make a stand to the TAX which is making the the Companies and esp.. the Goverment RICHer :tsktsk: :tsktsk: Quote: We are hitting 9 8 p a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying £1 a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT,whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read it and join in! Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take a ggressive action to teach them thatBUYERS control the market place not sellers. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP. If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send i t to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it... .. THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all.(and not buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8days!!! Acting together we can make a difference If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 69p a LITRE RANGE It's easy to make this happen. Just forward this email, and buy your petrol at Shell, Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons Jet etc. i.e.boycott BP and Esso Please pass it on..
  16. dont think its the brakes ive had them checked and cchanged. where is the o2 senser located? Try to reset the ECU and put RedX injector cleaner and take it onthe motor way at a steady speed work and vback and it should hopefully rememder the setting and bring back your MPG. :winky: If not check the Air filter, Vac it out if needs be. good luck and welcome to Leeds (ring road a nightmare :tsktsk: :tsktsk: ). 17. P4vVVS, i recomend the LPGforum website and pose the questions since there are installers and they are very helpfull. :D Dibslpg
  18. Mark, If i remember right the ALDESA system is Turkish and was told to keep away from it due to to many bugs at present, even though its the latest, Mention of Aldesa here - http://my90.co.uk/lpg/viewtopic.php?t=4776 There's some blurb about Aldesa here- http://www.autolpg.co.uk/installer.html but frankly any installer will laugh at that. Apparently all other systems are hopelessly inadequate, inject on exhaust phase, using 20 times longer pulse etc... these technical details are tosh, but that is sales blurb and may not reflect on the engineering. And mention of Voltran Vogas here - Another type. http://my90.co.uk/lpg/viewtopic.php?t=4585 Voltran is the maker, offering VGSI more basic system and Vogas more sophisticated. http://www.voltranlpg.com/ doesn't work for me No experience myself, I wouldn't want to judge them on that. Hope it helps. B) Dibslpg
  19. Looks great but you will get pulled and fined (if you are realy lucky they will tell you to take it off). Like it happened to me on several occasions. Ps my Plate is the Same too :winky: I have G18 RAR and spaced it with the "G (black Bold) 18 (smll space) RAR (black Bolt)" thus reading G.18 RAR. and so far never had any problems (last 2 years) I have the other illeage ones in the shed after getting pulled every 5 mins so, it's not worth it mate. Take care, Dibslpg but my plate reads E18RAR ... So do i need to do.. E18 RAR ? a space between E18 and RAR ? YES mate, but like i said put a black head nut/bolt between the E & 18 . Dibs
  20. Looks great but you will get pulled and fined (if you are realy lucky they will tell you to take it off). Like it happened to me on several occasions. 21. Dam thats Shinnnnny especially Black.. WhoW. Thats some serious pollishing. looks great ;) how much did you buy the polish kit for and where from please? :) Cheers Dibslpg
  22. Cheers bud, will keep my eye peeled on fleebay. Hopefuly i will get lucky too. Dibs
  23. Alloy looks sweet, i am thinks of changing my original ones (flaking like crazy) and buying something else.. Like the ones you have pictured ;) Where did you buy the full set from please? and do these suffer from the Lexus flaking virus too? Dibslpg
  24. TigerFish: I still have not figured out how to upload pictures yet But the size is small and if you colour code it it is even less conspicuous. If it does bother you that much why not get it installed just under your back bumper (wher the Tow bar would be bolted on to that way you will never see it, Just means that you would have to get down on your knees each time you locked the filler gun on. D8driver: Has far has a a Lube system the best I have came across (has recommended by several installer is the Flash Lube kit (I have it installed) and it works a treat never mess around with it just top up the bottle every 4 to 6 months. You can buy the refill form fleebay for around £12. I can not stress enough that a Flash Lube system is needed on Japan based Cars. VVTi type cars have no problems with LPG I have seen Honda’s (VTec) and Lexus LS400’s running on gas, since the gas is more leaner and cleaner burning fuel and a lot less carbon contam it burn more efficiently. One Perk is that you have do not have to change the oil that often since it never gets dirty, mine is clean has ever after its service six months ago.. Runners a lot smoother providing you install the correct system that is. I have see it installed on a Scooby Turbo and no problems, my cus has been running his BMW M3 on LPG for 4 years now and never had any problems, since it has the Multi point system is has no power loss what so ever. May main advise is research into it a lot login to the various LPG websites like www.lpgforum.co.uk and golpg.co.uk etc. tones of information just look and absorb, + like the guys says chat with several installers to get an opinion. My local hates doing BMW’s, where has the one near work loves doing BMW’s Merc’s, VW’s any German makes of cars all day long. It boils down to the experience of the installer that’s all. Get recommendations form the LPG websites.. Hope it helps, :D Dibslpg
  25. Hi Mark, The best place for the refill cap is the same side has the fuel cap but on the side of the bumper just like mine. See avatar. :winky: Best type in my op. is the Multi point SGI type by the Italians with the software which can be mapped to suite your car. Expect to pay around £1600 + to £2200. + make sure you have Flash Lube installed since its a Toyota engine and LPG causes valve seat retention, so this Flash Lube will prevent that (£70+) but worth it all day long. I recommend you check out the following website; www.lpgforum.co.uk and carry out lot of research in to it and if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask. Dibslpg :D
