  1. what i dont understand is, why are the keys in the boot in the first place? im guessing there must have been a point in your mind when you said "i must now place these keys in a safe place" as opposed to "i must now put these keys in my pocket"..... i dunno, maybe your pockets where full :P nb: after typing that, i now beleive i will lock my keys in my boot... its called sods law! :S
  2. i.e visited WIM to get the geometry checked/adjusted? also, are the vibrations jolt like? or constant shakes?

  4. Jamie... what is that you have in your cig lighter? some kind of cap.... Car is shaping up nicely, good work.
  5. Nice one AproJay, make sure you get some pictures up. and btw, its spelt Vyker :P
  6. i use the snow button when stuck in traffic on the m-ways. i feel it helps my foot spend less money in the way of petrol. when your constantly pulling away from standstill in first gear, to then hit the brakes and come to a standstill again, takes a strain on feul tank.
  7. it doesnt auto lock if you open one of the doors in time... i unlock it, and open the nearest door to me, it then stays unlocked. have you managed to get the keys out the boot?
  8. wow, thats pricey! stock HU is definately staying in now!
  9. didnt know that, good shout aztec. a quick guestimate, must be because of the lovely lady who mutes our right front speaker when listening to music to tell us to "turn left at the next junction"
  10. you sure it has anything to do with the new kit you put in? it could be just the screen's ribbon cable finally giving up on you! theres a couple of posts about it, might be worth giving that a go!
  11. Hugo, the colours do come back slowly. previous owner of my car told me, after i had asked as to why the screen was green [like an old amstrad], said to me that as its been off for so long the LCD screen needs time to "warm" up all the colours, he told me that that is what Lexus told him. true to his/lexus' word all my colours are back and vibrant. so i can only assume that as your screen has suffered from the dodgy ribbon symdrome, it will take a few boot ups to get all its colour back.
  12. swfcdan, thats strange, mine is still going [touch wood], and we did it about the same time. one thing i have noticed is that when its a cold morning, it takes about a min longer to start, i can only assume its to do with the pc in the boot warming up before it boots. how much WD40 did you spray on there? i flooded all the connectors with it, cleaned up the mess after mind. let us know how you get on. oh and, congrats for getting there in the end Hugo! :)
  13. nice work Wozza, looking forward to it!
  14. i've got the same problem.... im not too worried about it, and tend to play with it when i have my windows down and waiting at a set of lights... can make it squeak along with Radio 1 :P OT: why the nick change Rob? although, if im honest, im struggling to remeber the old one, imruff.... fluffruff or something!
  15. Japanese Performance Magazine Issue 80 September 07..... Has an american IS300, tuned to 1036bhp at the wheels. Id love to scan the photos to show you, but im at work.
  16. humm i thought they were to be changed at 100k? mine are still the orginals, i think. i wonder, that might explain why once every 100 or so starts, it shudders like its missfiring. ill get it checked out.
  17. dont get me wrong, im not moaning about MPG, i know i drive it too aggressivley and wasteful, but its fun. its just im sure you dont get your light come on at 1/4 tank!.... do you?
  18. you do take good photos..... the car looks very nice. i do like the camera-in-the-grass shot, something about the front alloy in that photo, just looks mint. and blacking out the number plates makes the photo look so much better... why do we have to have such sodding ugly yellow plates ruining cars! arf! Nice one Jamie
  19. glad it worked for you swfcdan! ruddy clip eh! beats even the best of us :P i didnt chase the ribbon down deeper, getting to the other end seemed too much effort, just sprayed it with WD40 at the connector. lets see how long our little initiative last! fingers crossed :)
  20. i got so fed up of mine doing that, so i decided to open it up few days ago. i took the entire unit out... surprisingly it was only 2 screws and 4 clips... at the back of the unit, once its out, there is 2 connectors, one big white one with about 16 pins, and an earth plug. took the unit into the house, and started to clean it.... at the back of the unit there is a "box" that is attached using 4 tiny screws, it may not be the most descriptive sentence written, but once you look behind the screen you will know what i mean by "box". take that box off and you will notice 3 connectors underneath, 2 plug style connecters, bit like the power of the old floppy drives in PC's and one ribbon. i took them all off and sprayed WD40 onto it. Becareful with the ribbon, as the black holder is very stiff and have very small clips, i broke the right side of the clip but it still holds, taped over it just incase. plug them all back in again, put the "box" back on, reconnected it all... since then its worked everytime. im not holding my breathe though, as there seems to be no sure way of getting it to work 100% but im feeling confident. *touches wood* in terms of diffculty, its not at all. i suggest you give it a bash good luck
  21. Im not sure if that exsists tbh... if it does however, i would be very interested... let us know if you know <_<
  22. i dont know the answer off the top of my head.. but i do know there are a few pages on it in the manual... i only remember this as when i saw it in there i thought to myself "how on earth can you write so much on key and lock" :s
  23. nice Bod, looks good. i really like the rear side view of your car, the alloys, spoilers all looks cracking... one thing, where did you get the mudflaps from? its a nice touch.
