  1. ball joints, tracking/geo, front fog light, cd player, front driver speakers, bonnet clamp, sat nav screen..... is what i have fixed, I still have to work-out/fix the squeak when i drive over 55mph, the clonking passenger side shocks/suspension, a loose fan belt [i think its that] and on full lock a loud screech. but other then all of that, i love the car, i love to drive it, i love the way it looks, i love its handling, it costs me alot, but im happy to pay! [costs so far for repairs and maintenance @ £2,025.10 in 11months at 15k miles]
  2. Its probably for pedestrian safety. These days cars crumble under any impact, so if it was a little school kid, the wing mirror wouldn't cause too much harm to them. Where as our nearly 10yr old IS probably didnt follow that design trait....... IMO
  3. Anees, I've always liked your car from your avatar, and to see some pictures of it finally; cements my liking to it. I think everything you have done to it is make it look subtly better then the rest, not OTT, chav'esqe ... just right! One day I hope to own an e46 330Cd/i, and when I do, alot of the mods done on yours will suit me nicely. In terms of forums, all the BMW ones I looked into were nothing like LOC, i think the community built up here in LOC is like no other, and even if I were to be no longer an owner of a Lexus, I would still, like yourself, actively participate on it. Good write, and I hope to see more of the car in the future!
  4. Right.. hello again.. Firstly sorry to management for resurrecting an old topic. Secondly, I think my problem here has fixed its self, I have no idea how, but I have come up with some random guestimates. My first thought.. is that I often find myself driving with a full passenger load, more often then not, 3 big blokes sat in the back seats, and with all that weight, could it have jigged the contacts under the seat base? [as Mat mentioned earlier in the topic] My second thought... is that the previous owner used to drive only 4miles per day in 2 stints. 2miles to goto work, and 2miles back, so he never really used to fill it up more then once every 3months. Since I bought it off him, I fill it up once a week. As the ECU "learns" our driving style, could the fuel ECU have set itself to not check on the status of the tank quite so regularly, and now since Ive done many miles it has learnt to check more often under my driving style? Does the ECU have a setting for "Check fuel tank"? "on startup/once a week/every 100miles" ? Both very random thoughts I know, but if anyone of you think any of this might be the reason why my needle is now very accurate then please let me know, also let me know its is all nonsense :P Thanks Vyker
  5. Good luck with this mate, How much did you pay for a set of them springs? I really want to lower mine, it just seems to sit sooo high when I see on my driveway! :S
  6. Welcome to the club Ian, and in that, I've noticed that we have a few Ian's on here Ian M, D & B :P Heh, not sure what relevance that has to anything, but hey, welcome anyway :)
  7. Got nothing this year! even though the company turned over $104.3 billion USD revenue. One day it will make sense to me!
  8. There's no point comparing petrol to any other fluid. Yes, in these comparisons the petrol price per litre comes off a winner, I mean, i bought a Lucazade Sport drink, 700ml for £1.20, but the point is, that I don't buy 70ltrs of it a week! The same can be said for any other fluid, some might say "oh yeah, i easily down that much in drink on a Friday night ha! ha! ha!!" but that's only as they think its cool to glorify drink. We need to buy many many litres of the stuff to keep our cars running, so to be happy about the fact its cheaper then French Alps mineral water is just another ploy to get us to think that we arent infact paying way too much for fuel! Time to get some serious protests started is what i say! </rant> p.s That's not a dig at anyone on here, im just getting annoyed at the public domains eagerness to idolise what people like Clarkson say and then suddenly think its Ok! [he compared it to water a few eps back]
  9. What'd ya reckon the reserve is on that ?
  10. Yeah, I remember aztec, there was nothing on there for motion locking. Was just hoping that there might be something else we dont know about. Anyway, nevermind, well done on another great find Sonnet!
  11. Is this for both? the widescreen DVD based system and the CD based system?
  12. Found this clip on MeTube, http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MTHoENfbo-Q&...feature=related IS200 Crash test by the yanks. Looks very safe, pleased with that clip :) Does anyone else think the white tyre wall looks pretty cool? Also, doesnt that IS look... longer then normal? Did the American IS have bigger bumpers to accommodate their yellow reflectors?
  13. I like the sound of that, I have 4new tyres, Dunlop SP3000A's on and a set of pads only 9k young. Wasent cheap getting all that on the car, so the idea of a track just seems as though i can say good bye to them. But your reassuring comments help, I may consider it a little more. Biggest problem i have is my uncontrollable natural urge to "hammer it", i cant settle for nothing less then full throttle on a track, and boy.. *** forbid we have time trials.. My competitive nature will probably kill me. :S *looks for the TRC button* :P
  14. I've been thinking about getting some parking sensors fitted too.... Of all the research I have done, these seem to come up top.. http://www.proxel.com/eps-wbd.htm Look! It almost says Prolex :P It requires no drilling, its an electromagnetic strip [As Rob mentioned a up there ^^^] that you stick BEHIND the bumper, which I am assuming is easier to remove then to drill! Also has a cool little LED display meter, which is handy as we already have a reversing buzzer and would sound pretty crap with two buzzers going off. Another interesting one i found was a this.. Item number 120193400196 Its also a drill free solution but instead is placed below or above the number plate, pretty clever, but i suspect as our IS's have very high number plates, it wont work so well? I'll keep deliberating further which option to go for!
  15. that is cool!!! :D great pic
  16. I think the service is great, I still need to book in for my fine tune, but even if you had asked those to already due their fine tune to pay, it would still be fair. I think its down to the fact that users who travel to see you know what it is they are getting fixed, its not a "chore" like service, its something that we want done and for that reason there's no compromise on price. ..... ..... Just read what i wrote, and I'm not sure I'm making sense, but if you get me, then cool :) Which reminds me, seeing as I'm on annual leave from work, ill pop round and see you this week or next for my fine tune. Keep up the good work Tony, I'm sure I speak for us all when I say we do appreciate it.
  17. Signed! I doubt we will see any result from this, but it doesnt hurt to try!

  19. woohoo im 287th :) page 15 if you're interested :)
  20. Welcome to the club mate. got yourself a very good car! As you have just joined you might want to have a troll through the archive of posts, everything you have asked for has been covered. To get you going, 2003 satnav is dvd based, and therefore wont fit into yours easily. I had the same problem with the dodgy satnav screen, its repairable! err3 can be fixed but is costly, a bottom loading cd player is not the same as a top loading cd player unit, so as a result you can not change between them. Good Luck
