Thanks for all your replies guys, Im in a hotel all this week, so no Internet in the evenings, at work now and going to gather up all your comments and work out whats the best approach... On initial reflection, i think all of you are spot on, its not right what i had to go through, i think i may have been slightly blinded by the height of the situation clouding my judgment. hindsight is a wonderful thing!.... i mean.. he threaten to punch me for petes sake!! [realisation kicks in] Another worrying point TigerFish has made rings frightfully true, i have no witnesses and it is simply a case of him vs me! :( Thanks for all the advice!

Gutted! I was driving up to a roundabout, the road was a 2lane one, with lane 2 splitting into 2 lanes, totaling 3 at the roundabout entry. I was in middle lane, a 307 on the inside and the lorry on the outside [lane3]... all is well, we were all at a standstill waiting to enter the roundabout, then all of a sudden, the mad lorry driver thought he could make it in time to enter the roundabout ahead of a white van, i would never have wanted to join at that point and im in the IS which is more nimble and quicker. As he pulled out, the white van slammed his breaks, and the lorry had to swing right round to make the bend in the road with me on his inside :o I had to pull out with him otherwise i would have been under his rear carriage wheels, i couldn't pull out too far away from him otherwise i would hit the 307 beside me. He caught me... dented my front wing with a prevailing scratch continuing along the entire length of the car! We both pulled over and he was one rude *****, he threaten to punch me 3 times, swore at me, the lot! I claimed it to be his fault, and he I. I called my insurance and my excess is £350, which is more then the £300 i was quoted by my local garage to repair all 4 panels [2doors and 2 wings] with paint matching. I was told that i can still claim and get the money repaid to me through my legal cover from the other side, but of all that i have spoken to have told me that id be dreaming if i expect to get the money anytime next year! whats your thoughts? The lorry belonged to GIST logistics, and i suspect they will hold onto their pennies very tightly, training all their drivers to never admit fault! If i pay myself i wont have a claimed claim on my insurance and i will be out of pocket £300, if i go through with the claim, i will still have to pay, then battle and hassle with legal cover and 3rd parties to get the money back, after battling over whose is at fault... what your thoughts? signing out, a sad Vyker :(

i think im right in saying that, if you have v3 or above on the CD based system, then you have the latest software version. if however you have the DVD version, then i believe that there is some firmware upgrades on the discs, dependent on what you currently have. im sure someone will be round to help you further.

are you sure yours is the DVD version, and not the CD version? i think in both instances, there is no postcode searching.... some one will be along soon enough to confirm this for you.

when you say you "did" yours, what did that involve? as mine just has no shine to it... i polished it recently and still just looks like an old car, granted it is.. but i would like at least _some_ shine! :(

came out in 2001, been going since... if German "rules" apply, then small race'y coupé's are replaced every 8yrs. so.. 2009 the new one is out?

i guess its my turn :) Im AJ, 23 yrs old, Im in a IT Consultant for "the largest IT company in the world", and work more on a motorway then i do in an office. Im single, no wife or kids.... [thank *** :P ] My T plate IS200 is my 5th car, and only marginally the best car of the lot, my previous Bora 2.3v5 comes very close behind. Had the IS since Feb, bought it 2nd hand for £4800, and have spent £2,149.91 [calculation thanks to http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/detail/183037.html ] Mods so far.... just the one a Sport grille. Im looking to sell the car and buy a Black IS200/300 Aero Navigator in the near future, to really go modding mad with. In terms of forums, this is my first real forum that im a part of, ive been an internet user for many years, but never actively participated in any forums. So, thank you LOC :)

Sorry i couldn't make it today :( I woke up feeling really crappy, and couldn't find the bother to drive the 60miles.... felt so bad, i went back to sleep and woke at a dismal 3pm! When i did eventually feel alive again, i had absolutely nothing to do as i had planned my day to be there, was really gutted. on the flip side, im a little glad i didnt go, as looking at the pictures, my car would have been just an eye sore compared to your cars!!! i would have felt embarrassed to claim to be a LOC member along side those cars! which actually isnt good for my wallet, as i have even more urge to go out and buy a newer better IS. i WILL be at the next grasshopper meet! *puts his foot down*

There is a post about this, if i remember rightly, you just need to be rough with it, give it a good tug. i would have a search to find the post for you, but my search doesnt work for some reason!

hi guys, ive got home really late tonight, 3am now... ive had little sleep last night, and it appears i'll have little tonight too... so i wont be there for 11am... ill probably set off from here at around 11:30, im in west london j1 m4.... so i will most likely turn up at around 12:30-1pm, i hope you will all still be there see you tomorrow :) p.s my car is _dirty_, didnt get a chance to clean it

he would have made the corner ok, had the 106 not been there.... so.. maybe they should have had had separate track days for each car class!..... blame the organisers :P
