  1. It's for WOT (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=wot) so you know you are at maximum acceleration when you hear the button click. Also worth noting it doesn't matter which mode you are in Normal / Sport / Snow if you bury the pedal to the button the car will give you everything it can.
  2. Keyless start is quite confusing, all CT's have always had push button start - did they have to use a key and push button?
  3. I'm surprised that something like that (directly attributed to a incorrectly fitted part) would be denied. Have you written to Lexus UK about it?
  4. Strange as I hadn't heard anything about this but just saw this on Which? site: http://www.whatcar.com/car-news/our-cars-lexus-ct200h/259968 "We're driving a 2013-model-year CT200h next week. It features retuned suspension that is claimed to provide a better ride. Considering how poor my car is on all surfaces, I can't wait to feel the difference."
  5. A lot of these suggestions have made their way onto the newer models which is a nice sign that Lexus listens and acts on feedback. Personally I prefer the paddles attached to the steering wheel, have seen a lot of complaints about ones that aren't as when changing gear round a corner your fingers aren't near the paddles. Most of my wish list has been mentioned but here we go: 1) Stronger paint protection (In fact put this down for all Lexus cars) 2) Exhaust button to allow more noise from lower revs 3) ACC to work from 0mph like the MB systems - the time you most want to use this is in a traffic jam crawling along at 5mph, just can't see why the system deactivates below 30mph? 4) Proper Exhaust tips not ones attached to the bumper. 5) Brake pads that don't coat your wheels in dust after 1 journey. 6) Softer suspension (But this is already in the 2011 model)
  6. Grats! Look forward to the pics! Know there is at least 1 owner, Nebula Grey with bergundy interior. Looks superb!
  7. Firstly grats on the car, looks amazing! Guess it must be fairly similar to the latest nav system in the IS. I actually gave up using the USB as it was so difficult and slow to navigate around all the songs, just ripped the CD's to the internal HDD and works amazingly well and very easy to jump around different Genres etc. Also use an iPod with one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0057O47NA/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 gives much better sound quality and charges the iPod at the same time - again much easier to navigate around than USB (Although still say HDD is the easiest, just requires the time consuming ripping part) Just wish they would let you copy a USB key of files over to the HDD - would be much much better than ripping the CD's!
  8. That is disgusting, really sorry to hear :( I would def persue Sky as fjc said earlier, sure they can be held accountable.
  9. Hmm isn't there a button with TA on it and a TA icon on the screen showing if it's on or off?
  10. Glad to hear the experience was good! The new GS seems to be comparing very well in reviews with a number of wins. I certainly prefer the styling, especially in F Sport trim. I have dealt with most of the main premium dealers and nothing comes close to Lexus! If you really want more economy but not the cost of jumping to the 450h they are bringing out a smaller hybrid model next year, might be a fair wait though.
  11. Don't think any of the previous gen RX had keyless go so the BMW current method wouldn't work. Also doubtful that anyone spending that much on the required equip would be after 7 year old prev gen. Very likely as others have stated someone had a spare key, is the car a recent purchase? Alternatively do you keep car keys near your front door? People fish keys out through letterbox.
  12. They are bringing out a lower power hybrid next year, source: http://lexusenthusiast.com/2012/06/19/second-lexus-gs-hybrid-to-use-v6-engine/ "GB: That suggests there will be another engine to come for the GS. YK: Yes, we have a lower displacement hybrid. It will come to European markets in the second half of 2013." Can't believe they haven't got a better 2.5L engine though, that thing has been around for ages and the emissions and MPG are very poor. Totally agree with the IS350 and preferably with the AWD as an option as well, in fact the ES hybrid would be a great car over here. The cars they bring over (except the CT) seem to be the expensive one's - if you want to get market share then would think the lower priced ones would help. Another example of this is with the RX, the previous gen had a much lower entry price and was hugely popular. When the cost premium is £10k you have to do a massive number of miles to recoup (or be a business user) Australia get a 270, even smaller than the 350 model. http://www.caradvice.com.au/179021/lexus-rx270-review/
  13. Just have a look at the equipment lines here: http://www.lexus.co.uk/car-models/rx/rx-450h/index.tmex#/PricesAndSpecifications Quite a few differences but main ones from memory, SE-L to Premier you gain: Air suspension LED headlights Head Up Display Cameras on sides Mark Levison 15 speaker stereo Semi-A 10 way leather power seats Standard sunroof Option for ACC (you can't have on any other spec level) Dropping to the SE you lose Sat Nav, Parking Sensors, Power Boot, DAB
  14. That wouldn't have been the essential just the normal Lexus one discounted for age. The essential would have been £279.
  15. Thanks for making me feel young again :) don't feel so bad now, was 40p when I started driving ;)
  16. I find that the prices generally mimic any other nearby stations anyway, however I do tend to stay away from Supermarket petrol probably deterred by the memory of Tesco screwing up peoples cars: http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2007/mar/06/oilandpetrol.transportintheuk Even more shocking is remembering that petrol was 88p 5 years ago :(
  17. Mike as Colin stated and also from my earlier post, I really can't see much difference from the main Lexus service to the Essential Care one except a massive price difference. My "Minor" Essential Care service on an RX300 cost £129, they picked the car up, did the service (Minor one so basically oil change, filter change and lots of checks) cleaned the car and dropped it back, haven't had the "Major" one yet but seems it's the same plus additional filters etc that are needed. They give you an insert for your service book (Looks like a service page from the book) on which the stamps are collected. I'm not sure what is included above and beyond in the "Full" Lexus service but would love to hear.
  18. Once the car is 5 years old you can go on the 5yr service plan which offers very good value for money so I would only take it up to 5yr's on the normal plan if you do.
  19. Yep every policy I have has Mention it by name and exclude it (Started about 10 or so years ago when the ring became a popular destination) Good pics, sounds like you had a great time.
  20. Grats and welcome to the ISF club :) looking forward to some pics. Always wondered about the ring but don't think could risk the car until value drops. What do you do for insurance?
  21. I would ask JoeZ on http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-f-200/
