  1. Great to meet you the other day in the petrol station, 2nd ISF I have seen in the wild in 5 years! Love the sound of the custom exhaust you have, really let that V8 bellow out! Anyway hope to see you out and about on the road again!
  2. I would bet they just did a load of miles one year and forgot to get it booked in (maybe forgot the last mileage of service) personally as an approved Lexus with warranty. I wouldn't think twice but would use it as an excuse to get some money off or possibly another year warranty thrown in. These engines are bullet proof, check out the abuse some of the people throw at them on the US forums (burnouts, drag racing etc) not saying the previous owner couldn't have done the same but i would be truly shocked that that sort of owner would have bought an ISF over something like an M3. Bet you those are motorway miles with very little impact to the engine.
  3. MY 2010 was Model Year 2010 :) it was also the model year it was introduced along with the proper LSD etc. You can easily tell if it's a MY10 as it will have DAB radio button, blue section bottom of steering wheel and of course a USB socket in centre console
  4. MY 2010 has proper iPod / iPhone integration, you can have Bluetooth audio streaming and you get a USB and 3.5 mm jack in centre console. It also get HDD based Sat Nav and torsen LSD.
  5. Doesn't it list the correct pressures inside the drivers door? (Think thst is where they normally are)
  6. Is that the Blue one from Lexus Woodford? Lovely car, bit of a mix up in its early life as had wrong stereo for UK so no DAB - original owner ended up getting a brand new one as they couldn't retro fit. Almost certain to be another ISF, RCF and GSF are pretty much confirmed and seen in advanced stages of testing. With the new boss he is really taking Lexus into a great sporty line up!
  7. I went with Blizzaks from Mytyres - dealer is putting them on and storing the summer ones for £75 so all in it will be just over £900 Was surprised by the wet rating on the Blizzaks, however reading the US forums there are a lot of good things said about them.
  8. Don't forget there are two types of IS filter, a normal white one (£19) and a carbon activated one which is black / grey colour (£26) so if it is just looking dirty because it's black colour it may just be a carbon one (flies etc not withstanding lol) :)
  9. True, they also adjusted handbrake (well footbrake) for free not sure how long that takes?
  10. Don't forget these are Lexus dealers not your run of the mill, £26.50 inc VAT for the carbon air filter and they fitted it for free for me. It's the little things like this that keep me coming back to Lexus :)
  11. Was it a pre MY12 car? They changed the dash over to a large rev counter with digital mph with the MY12. Both lovely cars, how did you find the GT86 ?
  12. Interesting as i was looking for a fast car to replace previous ISF, looked at the A45 as ticked a lot of boxes - still think it's a very nice car but prive with a few options just seemed very expensive compared to an ISF. Ended up just buying another :) Another year once MB start doing them with £5k discounts and nice apr deals then can see going that way as well! If possible would love you to come back and post about your A45!
  13. I was very tempted by that Blue one, started negotiating a deal but was put off a bit by the fact it has the wrong country audio system in so no DAB and 2 previous owners (someone bought it pre reg from dealer then found out had wrong stereo, couldn't be retro fitted so in the end Lexus sorted them a brand new car - bargain!!!). Other than that it's a cracking deal.
  14. Well it was my wifes's turn for a car so when I traded in the USB ISF we got a C250 Merc Sport+ which we still have as the RX got traded this time for the White ISF. The Merc is a lovely car but the engine is rubbish - too used to the smooth delivery of the F :) I wish Lexus would take a leaf out of MB audio system though, forgot how truly terrible the USB and iPod usage is in the Lexus! Reminds me, does anyone know of an easy way to bulk load music files on the system? Don't fancy ripping cd's 1 by 1... Came back to the F as really missed it, nothing quite like it especially for the price and reliability, new car has 14k on it so only really just nicely run in :) we got offered such a good deal just couldn't really say no!
  15. Well after a year break it's nice to be back in another ISF :) First one was a 2010MY on a 61 plate in USB, this one is in F Sport white 2011MY on an 11 plate... Seems strange it being an older car (by registration) but actually newer. Have to say the suspension changes really are superb, car feels so much more confident and compliant especially over broken surfaces. More details and pics to follow!
  16. Surprised you think it's held its value, my dealer offered me a derisory offer on a 9 month old car of £28k need although they do seem very strong at the moment.
  17. Save your money, the superguard isn't worth doing at all (better off getting a proper detailer to sort) the paint chip insurance maybe as Lexus paint is very soft - still a lot of money considering how many chips you could get repaired for that cost. It's not like it's even done by Lexus, it's all outsourced anyway. Wonder if for that money you can get a full protective body wrap, now that would be far more use!
  18. Expecting this to be a quiet thread lol, has anyone had any issues?
  19. Plastic cracked on mine, bought a replacement case online but no-one would cut it for me so complete waste of money. In the end got a mobile key cutter unit who came out and cut the key for £25.
  20. Yep Very nice, how much did you get it for in the end (if you don't mind me asking). Those alloys have just always been available - there were others added. Still the best though :) get yourself some wheel protection stuff, the brake dust gets in all the edges!
  21. Unless you really need to spend more then 95 is perfect. The higher RON is all about stopping knocking (premature ignition). Don't think anyone with a modern mass produced car with no user upgrades would need more than 95. Now if you lived in the USA with their standard 90 RON fuel you most certainly would want to buy the higher rating. Having said all that if you are doing a track day or something and want to squeeze every last BHP out of the car then go for it :) Worth reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Research_Octane_Number#Measurement_methods
  22. 1) Weights up the steering 2) Alters the gearbox mode, faster shifts, holds gears longer 3) Relaxes the electronic aids like esp 4) Alters throttle mapping so accelerator is more sensitive 5) lights up the sport notification on the dashboard ;)
  23. That's what's so good about choices - you don't have to purchase, swap and store 2 sets of tyres. You can go out and buy yourself a single set of all season tyres. I'm glad there isn't a "default" tyre provided in this country. I like to have choices available to me, and I like to make my choice using the factors that are important to me, not have someone else dictate it to me what I have/need/want/etc. But that's the thing there IS a default tyre and it's summer. You buy a new car and it will come with summer tyres meaning really you need to purchase another set for winter or risk it. If you could choose what your new car comes with a set of all season would probably save a lot of people having to deal with multiple sets. Do you really need the tiny added dry performance of summer over all season and lose the capability to work adequately in lower temps?
