  1. to check the cd player fill it with six cd's and it will tell you weather it has the err-3 code one disk might not bring it up if its just started to go. Sit in EVERY seat, and make sure the leather hasnt ripped anywhere! Check all four corners for scuff where people dont know the size of the car, and have had it touched up poorly! also, check each light cluster for condensation, it can be cleaned but its a job you'd rather not have to do, and to look at its awefull.
  2. i had this with mine, between the same speeds! Firstly had the off side front lower ball jpoint replaced (cost £195.07 plus VAT) by Lexus Leeds, problem improved slightly but didnt cure it. I was then told by them it was being caused by the caliper and would need to replace the O/S/F caliper (i thought sod this, if they didnt diagnose it correctly the first time and charged me over £200 for it, im not giving them another chance to change something that didnt need changing). Took it to the garage i used for my Corsa and the guy said he doubted it was the caliper but said he could change the pins to make sure the old ones werent worn causing it to move at high speed. He did it when changing the brake pads and the noise stopped but car still shook! Bought a strut brace for the front it improved slightly again so went with the thought that it was the tracking balancing etc. bought 4 new tyres, had the tracking done the same day drove down to Hastings to pick up my mothers new car and it never once shook on the motor way and hasnt since! I must add that the un even wear of my old tyres was unbelievable, im pretty sure the old over must have had lowering springs or coilovers on it before he sold it which is wht the tyres seemed fine when i bought it but knackered after a couple of thousand miles.
  3. corroding alloy's, but they were already like it when i bought last year. The cars a '99 so i cant get them replaced either!
  4. becarefull what it rains too! i was reading a post on here this morning about a leaking windscreen screwing up the electric's!!
  5. upto this point our cars have done 3,170,500 miles! might not be something to brag about, but the fact they are all still as good today as they were when we bought them IS! Point less fact again, We could have gone to the moon and back 6.64 times so we'd nearly be half way back now!
  6. glad you're sorting it mate. it wont be cheap, and what ever you're told first wait and get a second opinion! The VSR will give you the best indication though. With regards the Blades comment, i'll overlook it as they held Leeds to a draw the last two times the teams met
  7. i usd to love Issey Miyaki, then i smelt Antidote by Viktor & Rolf but Harrods the only store ive found it in. Also,Chanel Allure for men.
  8. surely he should learn to walk before he can run guys! Plane lessons before he can drive!?!? If he's still at uni he'd probably prefer cash to anything, but he'll say whatever, he doesnt mind! Take him shopping on the day, and let him get something he wants (it'll probably be the last thing you can think of), its what i did on my 21st with my mum. was nice to spend the day with her before going off for the night with my mates.
  9. what are you running under the bonnet? and why are you wanting to upgrade the brakes? Just curious as the brakes on the IS's are the same as on the GS's and more than capable of stopping a standard 200. Im changing mine at the end of the month but only because one of my disk's are warped and its cheaper to get some grooved and drilled after markets than it is
  10. but getting down to 0 will mean 50,000 pages of thread! Just 49,900 pages to go! 998,994
  11. Yell Link i know the front bumper of the sportcross is about 15mm wider at both sides than the standard saloon one at the bottom (i have one fit to my IS). If this width is continued along the bottom of the sportcross then i would say they would be different, which would explain the difference in part number.
  12. I'd need the delorian traveling at 88mph to have found that. I have 3 nephew's younger than the post Got the 360 BTW, brother in law called in sick today to play it.
  13. mine's due one now, but it wont have it til the month end, at the same time as I renew my insurance.
  14. what, a protocol droid Petrols always cheaper in the southern hemisphere, Australia when i was last there was about $1.02 a litre, and converted to pence at the time meant it was about 48p. At present it's $1.40 ish which would put it at about 70p a litre. Disgusting when you think the cost of the product is about 40pence a litre!!!!
  15. I couldn't find a thread on this when i searched the forum, but i only scanned the first 3-4 pages of the search results. I was told when looking for mine that high mileage shouldnt deter me from a good car (Lexus) providing its been looked after. The guy who gave me that advice also told me of a guy in the US who had done over 250,000 miles in his and was rewarded with a brand new car. A recent question in another post got me wondering who has the highet mileage on here! I know not everyone will want to publicise theirs but as mine is quite high i dont mind starting. To the neares thousand it is........ 140,000 and is as quiet as my mothers 2004 A4 Cab which is a petrol before you ask!! A cute fact: The distance around the Earth at the Equator is 24 900.8292miles so my car could have been around the world........ 5 and a half times. Whats yours?? 16. good link but how often is it updated? 103.9 when i filled up tonight, to answer your first question.
  17. 2D, If it WAS through a hole you must have been really patient and posess the steadiness of tight-rope walker! That or it wasnt the caliper you painted
  18. at least its not completely flat then. have you managed to get it charged up during the day?
  19. we know you were only joking, as the banter on the site is one of the reasons so many love it! Would be good if he did come back on as i think between us he could get the car sorted and looking like it should quickly!
  20. / Is this a similar engine Rikos:lol: how do you super charge this engine? Hold a lighter at the open end of the cone?
  21. I got a solid green circle on the one i got from Lex. Loggy, were the passenger and drivers doors closed properly last night as the bulb's at the bottom of the door have drained many a number of battery's from not having the door closed.
