  1. Been meaning to get the lexus WIM'ed for ages, but was too busy, and other things needed attention like cam belt, service etc, but finally after like 10 months and 4 worn tires (inner wear) that lasted just shy of 11k and as i had a week off work, i grabbed the tomtom and headed to WIM. The drive was pretty good, i thought i'd be stuck on the M25 for Hrs (the last trip i did on the M25 for a different event, i was stuck on it for over 3 Hrs!). The sun was out, though i checked the weather and it was suppose to rain!?!? Anyway travelled the 120 odd miles to get the 3 new tyres done (the 4th wheel was already done as it needed to pass the MOT a few weeks back), geo and as a bonus a rear strut brace, which luckly was in the car and i didn't think it would get fitted for a while. Funny thing is, i never saw any lexus on the way there.....for like 2 hrs...not even those RX 4x4 (but i did see 2 on the way back home, one was going way over the speed limit, might i add). But anyway, Tony had the car on the ramp and did his magic on the computer and it was indeed the angles was off, in the red (mostly for o/s/f and n/s/r). The car does feel like it's "floating", but i always thought thats the way it is for "comfort ride", but knew there was major problem with tyre wear. Managed to snap some images whilst i was there. Car on the ramp n/s/f n/s/r View from above, so that's what birds see when they want to hit my car with their crap! First reading from the Geo calibration...all i know is..green is good red is bad lol After the calibration was done...all green=good The drive home was a definite improvement, especially the way the car feels, it's more solid and sure footed and stayed with that solid feel even at speed. The car also turned into round abouts sharper than before where it used to be more relaxed and its like the back didn't follow the front type feeling. In all it was all done and at a very reasonable price and best of all knowing it was done correctly with a tried and tested method! Thumbs up to you Tony and the team (especially Mark? who operated "The boss" machine and cheers for installing the strut brace!). No doubt i will be back once i get my ARBs and lower springs. One thing i forgot to ask is isn't there a free checkup after a certain distance driven or something? Forgot to ask as i was looking forward to driving it after it was done lol.
  2. I don't know...i've got 3 fitted to my lexus, now i hardly ever have to refuel..saved me 93% in fuel bills!fgkjdkdjddiudiududisjhgh sorry my nose was hitting the keys.
  3. Which begs the question..do the EiBach spring fit the Bilstein shocks?
  4. Yeah i saw them, but they don't come with springs and naturally as a noobie i don't know what type of springs fit them lol. Infact i don't even know what are the difference between the stock shocks and the Bilsteins are lol.
  5. Thinking about lowering my car b4 i fit the bodykit and have my eyes on the EiBach springs (think they will lower car by 30mm, front and rear). The question i want to ask is, will i need to replace the shocks or will these fit into the stock shocks and also anyone got these fitted to their is200? If so what are they like? Ofcourse i expect a bit of loss in the comfort department and i will probably get WIM to fit these on the same day that i will get the geo done. Cheers!
  6. When Clark on top gear mentioned that the new Nissan GT-R had nitrogen filled tires as factory standard, i thought he was joking, but apprantely not. Also isn't that a lexus he was trying to get past? lol
  7. Lo ppl. Not too often i venture into this part of the forum as im not the cleanest driver about, but i have a question. I fully clean/dry/wax my car every 2 weeks or so depending on my mood and weather and the car looks brilliant, but the engine bay is like looking into a scrap yard (not cleaned it in 3 yrs!). Which begs the question, how do i clean the engine bay? when i say this i really don't intend to spend Hrs on it, so i was thinking, IF i was to water/steam/jet clean the engine :- 1) Is this safe/recommended? 2) If i do so, is it best to keep engine running or off? 3) Is there a particular place in the engine to avoid? 4) what do they spray into the engine bay to make it all like clean after the steam clean (seen a spray for this sort of thing but the name of the product escapes me) Thanks!
  8. Blah who needs complicated CAD software when u got MS paint! Please don't take me seriously...
  9. I won't rub it in, but my 70k service plus cambelt/tensioner/idler all costed £500, only reason why it went up is cos i insisted in having the Denso IK20's which nearly added to £70 by themselves and ofcourse the VAT at the end, but still hundreds less than what lexus would do for. Also they found that the (could be idler or tensioner, but i forgot which one) was seized and the roller had changed colour where it was just rubbing into the belt, so my lexus lives for another day. The mechanic said it may have lasted another 10k or snap in a weeks time. Heres my cambelt..yes it had chucks taken off the edges and my cars done just over 70k. Sorry about the blured image, rubbish camera..but you get the idea..
  10. So is that exhaust as quiet as the OEM lexus exhaust, as im thinking about having it. Also i wonder how much the insurance would slap on when i declare one on the lexus.... My insurance for this year has remind the same...surely it shoud go down a bit at least!
  11. Booked mine on the 9th to be done at a garage next to lexus...70k service (£105), timing belt change, inc tensioner, idler (£230) all in. Not bad considering lexus wanted £310 for 70K service and £300+ for just timing belt!! Also is cambelt same thing as timing belt? So in all Lexus would have charge me @£610+VAT, whereas a garage down the road costs £335 all in! I know where im going....
  12. Ah, cheers for that...yeah my brake fluid has been done few months back as i had to have a new caliper. Must phone lexus and book this is in as im getting a bit paranoid about my cam belt+ it was written last service that the belt was on medium worn..eek
  13. Just a quick question....whats a A service and B service (saw this in another thread, but not sure what they are on about)? Mines due for a 70k service..is that a A or B and does anyone know the rough price i'd be looking at....and yes i will also get the cam belt/tensioner done at the same time.
  14. Thats good, heard that from someone a while back in the post office (think she was getting her tax disc). Heard the woman say that it was cheaper to insure both people than it was for one....how that worked out i don't know, but i think she means it costs her less than twice the amount of a single person to insure. Anyway back to the subject, what insurance company are you with and are you allowed to modify her...the car that is not your mum lol
  15. Don't risk it, close it yourself lol. I'm sure mine locks itself after a certain time (20 second'ish). but like i said, best to be safe than sorry.
  16. Under 12K (front ones, Dunlop's SP Sport 3000), not been WIM'ed. Gonna see if mine will pass MOT next week (very unlikely), but if so then i be over to WIM to get tracking sorted with the worn tires to see if i can get more out of them, if not i got a pair of new eagle F1s waiting.
  17. Cheers m8..wish i never paid so much the first time round, was too late, didn't know about the is200 geo set was a total f**kup until a little while back and had no time. I'm not going to WIM until i get my car serviced and cam belt changed, so it will be next month...like i said many a times...i live like 200+ miles from WIM.
  18. Hi Guys...got MOT in a few weeks and i don't think my tires will pass the MOT....my dunlops costed me £160 each and both has lasted about a yr (under 12k miles) , the usual..tire inside is worn and 70% of the tire has like 5mm tread left or there abouts. So just want to check that these are the right size tires to order for my is200 (front set, standard alloy). Eagle F1s Cheers!
  19. Nice, i've got that lip waiting to be installed...i believe it's the TS style lip from EP racing right? They got a carbon version now as well, but very expensive @£260. Oh and i don't have a yahoo flickr account...can't you use photobucket as i want to keep a nice big image of some of them<<<Never mind found the other post lol. BTW how much did they charge you to prep/spray and fit the lip?
  20. Must be something about Woz giving up smoking...
  21. Just paid more than i wanted to for a limited edition lexus is200 watch made by Ebel on ebay, A series. Could have waited a few more days for it to finish but couldn't risk it being bought with a buy it now price by someone else. It's been stuck at £80 for 2 days with no bids, than it was placed with a buy it now price of £180...my finger was hovering over the buy it now price for 10 minutes lol. Only was going to pay £130 for it....but anyway, has anyone else got one of these or have the insides of the box or just the instructions as it didn't come with the bid? Oh and if anyone know any history of these limited edition watches, post it up..all i know is they are roughly 6-8 yrs old and have been limited to 1080?1000? being produced. Theres series A and B, but not sure if there are any differences. Thoughts and comments welcome. this is where someone posts up that they have one for sale for £50! but i would be interested in buying the instructions (looks like i would need it..)and the inners of the box. PM me if you have it.
  22. Does this mean, the is200 lexus will become the next car to be turned into a chavs projects?
  23. I drive so slow people have time to walk round the car and read the "Lexus" badge..
  24. I'd second that...cost that much just for a relatively decent pair of front grooved and dimped discs.
