  1. Yellow works better in fog, it will produce less glare back at the driver than whiter lamps.
  2. Isn't the "clip" visible in those pics the pad wear indicator? i.e. when the pads get low, they scrape the disc as an audible warning that the pads need changing.
  3. Doesn't the difference between normal and power mode also depend on how you drive in normal mode? i.e. If you drive with your foot always planted in standard mode, the ecu learns how you drive and changes responses in the gearbox. So the more heavy footed you are, the closer the power and normal modes will appear.
  4. I've never owned an LS400 or had an LPG kitted out car but from the places I've seen when I looked at them there were basically two options for the tank. A doughnut tank for the spare wheel well A bigger tank in the boot itself From what I remember, it was something like a 35 litre dougnut or a 60 litre tank. Don't quote me on that though
  5. I still think you will find that you have to report it to your own insurance company, whoever the blame falls on.
  6. Lucky fella if it was for real. Seems odd the winning bidder has a history of buying 10-15 dollar items (all vinyl records by the looks of it) and suddenly has half a million dollars to play with. Looks quite fishy
  7. I guess if the compressor stops it will stop/slow the drive belt going to the power steering pump. You should be able to see/hear that happening fairly easily I would think on tickover with aircon on and looking at the drive belt.
  8. Is the fluid level OK? and the belt turning and not loose? Other than that there is a solenoid on the system somewhere I believe which can effect low speed assistance.
  9. End results look real good and you certainly got your moneys worth out of his insurance B) On the insurance, as far as I am aware, you are obliged to tell your insurance company of any accidents regardless of blame. I would check your policy booklet as it would be a real shame if you needed your insurance one day and they refused a payout because you witheld information.
  10. I use Maguire's metal polish on the exhaust tips on mine, comes up a treat. I assume the chrome tips are geniune lexus items.
  11. More a tyre screach than a drift, keep practicing......... if you can afford the tyres
  12. Anybody know if the IK20/SK20 are the right plugs for a MK1 GS300 too?
  13. Top 6 tracks according to i-tunes play count is 1: Fight Fire With Fire - Metallica 2: Ride the Lightning - Metallica 3: Canon Rock - Funtwo 4: Creeping Death - Metallica 5: Vortex - Megadeth 6: Angel of Death - Slayer Most embarrasing are the mrs' tracks, all of them, Donna Summer, Lighthouse Family, Erasure etc etc :shutit:
  14. I saw this link in a thread and thought I would check it out for the articles. If I click one of the articles listed down the right hand side, I just get a page loaded with a blank area down the middle, with no article. Is this meant to work? the link concerned http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/carcare/ Cheers Rick
  15. I'm on an older MK1 GS but no big effort needed for mine either.
  16. Gord, has Drury Lane set your geometry up correctly? No offence meant to anyone here, but all the courses in the world mean diddly if you use that learning to set up geo to the wrong figures. That goes for all the dogs danglies equipment too. I could use a piece of string, a spirit level and a torch to set up my geometry all wrong, with no courses at all ;) I have no axe to grind with WIM, Drury Lane, TDI, Prolex or anyone else but I am sure getting tired of the bickering that seems to go on around the forum.
  17. Mine were nicked on my driveway. Oddly, one of the kids grassed up his mate by knocking on my door and telling me. So I grabbed his mate and he gave them back (he wanted them on his bike 'cos they looked cool), he only had three, some other scrote had nicked the other one sometime before that and I hadn't noticed.
  18. These, click, are the ones I have. They are pretty good, although a removal and soak in oil to keep them spinning freely is needed every now and again.
  19. I'd tend to agree with Gord, I would check all the earth (connections to the car body/chassis) from the brakelight circuit. This normally happens when the resistance on a connection to earth is greater than finding it's way to earth via another bulb (causing that other bulb to light up too). In your case flashing like the indicator because it is going back through the indicator circuit. Maybe the brake light earth is at the same point as the left hand indicator at the back of the car somewhere. Make sure all connections are clean on the left hand rear light cluster too.
  20. Paint Shop Pro is the cheapest of the decent ones IMO. Depends if you are after buying or knock-off, if buying, PSP is downloadable from Corel
  21. Yup, I was just asking Mat what he meant by "Engine Cooler" in reference to the Pro-lex and TDI cooler kits.
  22. and in the event of a crash, heavy shopping all over said kids, not very clever clogs :P
  23. it cant be used as the majority of the parts, are engine cooler specific..... Do you mean engine oil cooler? The TDI one looks like it has all the fittings as an engine oil cooler also?
  24. Thr chances are it is just the springs that have been changed as Paul says.I think coil-overs are the only other option available , you can tell if it was those by the adjusting rings (on the shocker body) for adjusting the ride height. Incidentally, if you do decide to remove the lowered springs, please give me a shout as I would buy them from you :winky: Or I'd even swap your springs for mine. I have the opposite problem, a Sport model that the previous owner raised because of his driveway :(
