  1. That is the approach I took for my GS, bought the OEM RX clear indicators. Not the cheapest option unless you can find some at a breakers, cost £36 for the pair so a bit more expensive than the ebay jobbies but fit is perfect.
  2. Yup, good advice. Definately sounds like the thrust bearing.
  3. This did make me laugh though, I would be inclined to agree with them for a lot of Toyota stuff
  4. Unleaded for 100.9 at Sainsburys on Osmaston Park Road and also 100.9 at the garage on Chellaston Road.
  5. You should just need a new mast, fleabay is the answer mate. Cheaper from State side, I got two for the price of one from over the pond, but not bad prices all round and obviously delivery is a wee bit quicker if you buy from a UK seller. clicky
  6. Sounds a bit cheeky to make them non-refundable. If you tell them what you want and they get it wrong, I sure as hell wouldn't pay for them. Unlike the BMW dealers, I've never had to pay up front for ordered parts, so unless they lock you in the showroom and refuse to let you out, they can't force you to pay
  7. Must admit, that does sound cheap, more like the price each. Still, if they can deffo confirm that it is for four, then that is a righ bargain IMO.
  8. No i think i agree can u break the yellow out of the 1`s on 2 make them clear Or where can i get clear 1`s from I dont like 2 c the Yellow The lenses are already clear on yours? Maybe it is just the orange bulb you can see? I changed to clear side repeaters on my GS and bought the chromed amber bulbs to stop the orange showing (also did the same on the front indicators after breaking out the orange cup). If I can find the spare ones, I'll bring them on Sunday and you can try them on yours.
  9. The TTE part number on mine shows AM 28342, Lexus should be able to do them, and probably TTE direct. I know Lexus can do the wheels as I've seen them on the parts system, didn't look for the centre caps but I guess they should be on there as well.
  10. Have a look at this link mate for doing the AC Control bulbs, the stereo head unit comes out as part of that. Make sure your security code is off or you know what the code is before disconnecting the stereo though. clicky There is a feature on the car that feeds the optional mobile phone stuff to one of the doors for hands free, can't remember off the top of my head which door though. Maybe there is a partly disconnected mobile phone kit forcing the speakers off from normal audio expecting the phone audio instead. Might be the wrong door but just a thought.
  11. what work is that?? might help in bringing the right stuff for the job..... Hi Rob, I did post earlier asking for some tools I need to take my front drivers side wheel off and grease up my caliper as i think it may be slightly sticking, while i'm there i will grease up the brakes. Also, i would like to have a look at my cambelt to see if it is ok as it has apparantly been changed before i bought it. I would like to see if i can get my heated seat to work so need a multi meter to check if it is receiving a current from the switch. If you can Rob can you bring that methanol as i still havent sorted out that residue on my back window Thinks thats all ............... o we may be changing Lexus2D's brakes as well on the front :D PS - i also told a little white lie, i will be on the net until 3.45 sorry We should be pretty well covered for all the tools, plus I'll bring sockets sets and spanners etc and a trolley jack. And yes, you do have 2D's brakes on the cards I believe... You are gonna be a busy boy
  12. I've had my hair cut since that vid clip was done, so not quite so scary now
  13. Unlucky wozza :( I have a spare ballast unit if you want to borrow it until yours is sorted. I bought it when my original ballast failed and was waiting of the replacement one to arrive, it was really annoying having to use a standard bulb again so I grabbed a spare ballast so I could keep it in the boot in case I had another failure.

  15. No idea either on the IS, I'm sure someone will check it out for you on Sunday if all else fails.
  16. Cheers will w8 till uv sussed a spot out :winky: Not quite as simple as it sounded finding a good spot without going miles off the motorway Anyway, best spot I could find was this Clicky I'll make sure I am there before you get there so you just need to lookout for me, purple/maroon/whatever colour it is GS 300 parked up at the side of the road within a few yards of where the pinpoint is on the map. There are some laybyes on the A38 but it is too much of a detour to get back in the other direction. Let me know if it looks ok for you and we can sort the time out. I'll also PM you my mobile number in case there are any last minute hitches.
  17. Is it something that has suddenly started or it has always done it? Is the power steering fluid topped up to the correct level?
  18. BUMP I'm in Derby but could head northwards for a bit to meet you part way. Maybe J28 on the M1 as I will be heading to Pinxton at some point over the weekend so I could do that just before the meet if it helps. If u dont mind but dont go 2 far out your way just 4 me It's no problem. I need to go to J28, so timing it for Sunday lunchtime is no problem. Let me know what time you want to meet and I'll be there. I'll find a good spot just off J28 to stop, and let you know where it is.
  19. Yup, should be good to go for Sunday.
  20. BUMP I'm in Derby but could head northwards for a bit to meet you part way. Maybe J28 on the M1 as I will be heading to Pinxton at some point over the weekend so I could do that just before the meet if it helps.
  21. Worth a shot at the price I guess. There are a few GS's breaking on ebay so another option is to contact one of those sellers and see what they want for the pukka item.
  22. No idea mate on max safe drops. I was just reversing the suspension raise that the previous owner had done on my Sport. So I was only after the 1" drop all round that the Sport had. Getting the springs is a bit of a lottery, I got mine from Envy Performance (they should come up on google). Took longer to arrive than anticipated though. Might be worth PM'ing Monster Mat on here, as he may be able to get the same RS*R Down springs that I used a bit quicker. If I'm honest, I wouldn't want to slam my GS down by 3 inches, even the 1" drop gives me plenty of problems on driveways and speedbumps. With a car this long, it doesn't take much to ground the exhaust, I can't get my car down to the girlfriends garage at all. I think the 1" drop looks spot on with the wheels, albeit I have the 10" ones on the back.
  23. Yup, I have used one from a Vauxhall Corsa in my GS. I'd used a Renault Laguna one in the BMW E36 Coupe that I had before. The GS (and probably IS) was more awkward to do than the BMW because the lexus doesn't have little blanking plates where the grab handle would be for a left hand drive version of the car. So in the BMW the holder could screw into these spare grab rail mounting holes. On the GS, I used a piece of clear perspex to make a mount that slides in under the trim around the edge of the roof lining. I can do a tutorial on this DIY mod at the weekend if you need some more info. Just let me know.
  24. For family I have Stand and Deliver by Adam and the Ants, for friends I've got Moon Dance by Nightwish and for work its Cinnamon Spider by Jack off Jill.
