  1. Has anyone got any descent pics of all the seperate parts that come with an IS300 or IS200 autoleads fascia? My reason for asking is I cannot seem to find one for a right hand drive Mk1 GS300 so I have sourced a second hand Mk1 factory head unit. The plan is to use the fascia off that as either a mold to make a new plate, or remove the front panel and modify it to make a surround. Because I want the little oddments tray as well, it would be handy to have those parts pre-made so getting an alternative fascia with those parts makes sense. Just wanted to know exactly what comes in the kits to make sure it is what I am after. Cheers Rick
  2. Have you tried taking the resevoir off again to make sure the O ring is seated properly, maybe it is letting air in?
  3. I'm guessing that with older/more aged springs, it might drop a bit more than 25mm. I wouldn't want mine to go any lower, the exhaust already takes a bit of a beating on speed bumps as it is.
  4. Would be interesting to know what suspension parts are interchangeable between the IS and GS. WOW, I would recommend going to a new MOT station in future, that is pretty pants if they can't tell the difference between a balljoint and steering rack :shutit: Looks pretty good with those wheels on, especially once it is dropped.
  5. According the the Mk1 GS300 Sport brochure I have, it says the suspension is lowered by 25mm. It doesn't give a different figure for front and rear so I guess it is the same all round. The previous owner of my Sport had raised the car due to the design of his driveway, so I've had to reverse that. I didn't bother with OEM springs. TDI said they could get some lowering springs with a lead time of 4 months or something unless you went for the airmail price which was too much for me. I ended up ordering from Envy Performance. Transaction wasn't totally smooth mind you, their acquasition time was much longer than they first said. I ordered the Espelir Active Super Down springs with 30mm drop, however when the springs did finally arrive, the japanese supplier had sent the wrong items and I got RS*R Down springs instead. Had no problems with them so far, although I have the rears to fit still. When the new ones went on the front, the ludicrous camber introduced by the high springs and the geo not being redone was instantly sorted. Best shots I have on the pc at the mo are these ones to show the front arch and stance of the car.
  6. The ball joints are seperate from the bottom arm, they bolt onto the bottom of the hub. No idea on prices over here but did find a good US site. I did email them regarding shipping and they won't ship to the UK but if you have any contacts in the US that you can use as a middleman, they are pretty decent prices. clicky
  7. Welcome to the club, enjoy the GS B)
  8. Not that it makes any difference for what MacRS wants. Stuff like mirroring is for failover and redundancy in case of disk failure, does nothing of use for backup purposes as mentioned already.
  9. Smart piece of kit. Does it display the playlists from the ipod or do you still have to scroll the lists with the ipod itself?
  10. I would definately go for the relay option myself. Totally reversible and no fannying around with wiring.
  11. Ah, miss read your reply, I thought for some reason you said they were £67 from your Lexus dealer, D'Oh. I would definately go to the dealer for the real mccoy given the small price difference.
  12. Can't think of any better options mate, I emailed Thule to see if there was a foot pack available for the Thule Aero kit I already had. Got no reply. The Thule setup for my then E36 Coupe cost more than the Lexus genuine items so I can't see it being beaten by much, plus I couldn't find anything else other than fleabay for bars. BTW, the price you have, is that for the lockable ones? I think there was a wee bit extra for the locks which is why I think it was £88 when I asked before. Worth checking as the locks are well worth it if they haven't got them as standard.
  13. I would assume not, as the part number for the Mk1 is different. Just out of interest, how much are they on ebay? I bought a set off Steve on here but did ask the Lexus dealer last time I was in how much they were from them and they quoted me £88 (before mentioning the gold discount!), which is a bargain IMO.
  14. I've not had to change them yet mate. The Falken tyres were pretty good when I got the car.
  15. MIght chuck a fiver in it. bet it would still have the light on... That's no joke My GS light comes on with about 4½ gallons left in.
  16. Crikey, you like sailing close to the wind if you filled up with 59 litres in a 60 litre tank. You had about 5 miles tops on normal consumption left before empty!!
  17. I meant for the speaker grills. If they are cheap, you can buy the rest of the interior off this guy.
  18. Maybe try a price off Chris.s, I've been pleasantly surprised by some Lexus prices, although admittedly I've been horrified by some others.
  19. That's assuming the LS has it of course I'd be surprised if the GS had something the LS didn't though. I think it designed so that the blades park where the demister vents are, so that they can be defrosted and unstuck in icy weather easier.
  20. Do you have the owners manual? It should mention it (winter/summer mode) if you can change it easily yourself.
  21. Are the wipers set to Winter mode rather than the lower summer position? On my Mk1 GS, it is a rotating switch on the wiper stalk to change between the two.
  22. Make sure you check the center of the wheel (near the centre caps) not the tyres themselves. Basically just trying to guage if a brake is getting very hot which it would if it was binding/sticking. This heat will transfer out to the wheel via the hub.
  23. Sounds good. Have sent you a PM.
