  1. This is by far the most interesting post in this thread. Excellent stuff Tony. You should do some more stuff like this in its own thread.
  2. Congrats on the new motor. Lets hope you drive it quicker than you wash a car and tune a TV, 8 hrs and still no pics.
  3. I would say it is possible if you think you get complete power failure. Although the OS indicator bit would tend to throw it of that scent unless it was merely coincidence. Where does the red wire go to that is tagged onto the terminal? I don't have that on mine.
  4. Here is your pic Dave. Not quite sure what the need for the screw is. I would try removing the screw, undo the two nuts either side of the red wire and try tightening them all back up.
  5. No idea what the screw is all about mate. This is what the connections look like on mine.
  6. I agree with Geoffers about the loose connection. It isn't gonna help the car even if it isn't related to the issue at hand. As far as the other problem goes, if it is always happening with the OS indicator going, I would start by checking all the earth points around that area.
  7. What did you break on the old one? If it was just the mast, I would get a new mast as they are easy to replace and quite cheap, especially if you buy them from the US ebay (I got two for £20'ish, might have been less, so that i had a spare mast too). I can check through the wiring diagram at the weekend and see what wires are what on the factory unit and let you know if you need it.

  9. I have the non bosch versions off fleabay (just wanted a cheapo version to see if I liked the design), they have worked perfect so far with no issues. I can only remember one member (his uncle I believe) who had one fly off, so not really a huge problem or design flaw as yet I may get bosch next time just to see if they are any better, but would go back to the cheapo ones without hesitation if the bosch ones weren't worth it. From what I remember, halfrauds didn't list any for the Mk1 GS300 either, but they did fit, maybe they would fit the RX as well. I went for the flat type which halfrauds didn't do anyway the next time round.
  10. I got my 6000k kit from this guy: allgoods99. I did have one ballast unit fail which made me glad I went for a UK based seller, which the guy replaced with no quibbles.
  11. If you google the registration number, various stuff comes up, including this thread. Which is why I think they aren't stupid............ You've lost me

  13. Most cheap/free resizing software removes exif data so I doubt that gives any indication of their hacking/hiding abilities.
  14. I can see why they would be better on the front but.............. Space savers are thin, but not mormally a different diameter from the standard wheel are they? I can't say I've ever notices a car on a space saver looking dipped down in one corner as surely this would be a really big safety issue, more so than having a thinner go slow spare tyre. How would a diff ratio get "kncoked out"? A diff is designed to spin a different speeds on either side all of the time, and it is happening 99.9% of the time (as very few roads are dead straight) so are we all driving around on diffs with knocked out ratios??
  15. Can't help with the struts but dip bulbs are HB4/9006. I would recommend one of the many hid kits available. I have a 6000k set in mine, no standard bulb even comes close to how the hids perform.
  16. HB4/9006 for the dips, HB3/9005 for the main beams.
  17. Yup, my local too. Very pleased with the services so far.
  18. Can't help on the raid or mirroring stuff but I used to use Norton Ghost to create drive images on other drives (including usb ones).
  19. Cheers Wozza. not sure how I missed that pic, I've read the topic a few times
