  1. Do any of the wheels feel hotter when this has happened and does the vibration go away after a while? If it does, I would suspect a sticking brake calliper.
  2. The relay should just plug in and replace your current flasher relay.
  3. :tsktsk: that Bad news for anyone on the ground if you drop your fork.
  4. I woud have a BMW E36 M3. My E36 325 Coupe I had before the GS was a great motor. I covered 210,000 miles in 6-7 years with no major problems. I'm hoping the GS will do the same.
  5. Found the Relay I was on about in the other thread. Seems a fairly cheap and easy option Clicky
  6. I think there was another topic on here recently that had a link to a replacement Relay that meant they would flash correctly without load resistors. Does anyone else remember the topic? or am I wrong about the relay?
  7. I can confirm that the manual says However, I've not had the top cover off so can't say if the timing marks on the back cover, (No.4) cover, are actually dead on 12 o'clock or not.
  8. I wonder if my old Snooper radar detector would interfere with the locking? When I used to go and pickup my kids from the ex's place I used to get into arguments with her neighbour if I forgot to switch it off, his sky channels would break up and be unwatchable if the detector was on
  9. The manual doesn't give any details regarding lock pins for the cams or crank. Just special tools to hold the cam or crank pulleys while the nut is undone. Not much help from the official procedure I'm afraid.
  10. If you click the options box above your original post you will get a drop down list. Choose Standard from the display modes options.
  11. Is that you as a learner driver or full licensed driver named on the policy? Is you dad using his no claims on his own policy? If he is, you cannot use the same no claims on another policy. Also bear in mind, that by not declaring who is the main driver, you and your dad are committing fraud, which is illegal and can lead to you being disqualified from driving if you get 6 points on your license for being uninsured.
  12. There is some additional on this pdf from DVLA clicky
  13. That's interesting. I thought Q plates were reserved for kit cars or non production one offs.
  14. Seems to be an issue with a lot of the Lexus models, my GS300 has the same issues from time to time.
  15. Fairy snuff :shutit: I'm still confused by the SEC showing with no power. So you can take the head unit out of the car and SEC still shows in the display? It is starting to sound like possibly some of the buttons on the head unit are not working? Did Chris say how much a reset costs at Lexus? It might be money badly spent if you get a reset but cannot operate the stereo if some buttons are out? no it was my assumption that, as there is more than 1 power feed into the audio system, that one was not working , as a result there was power in the system to operate the theft deterent part of the system, but not the actual radio functions. Ah ok. Have you since checked the power feeds on the plugs to the stereo?
  16. A sticking front calliper on my GS had similar symptoms as this. If I was doing under 40, no problem presumably cos they weren't generating enough heat. Between 40 and 55'ish, could wobble the stearing and car really badly, over 55 and the pads would wear quickly enough to release the pressure and problem would go away until I braked again.
  17. Is there a way to get the heater/aircon system into diagnostic mode like there is on the Mk1 GS?

  19. Not wanting to sound like teaching granny to suck eggs, but I'm assuming you have the owners manual with the key press sequences for entering the code?
  20. Ditto. The tyres definately need dressing to make them as dark/darker than the wheels.
  21. My faves are Armani Night Paul Smith Ralph Lauren Safari Eau Sauvage Extreme
