  1. I've read your other post. I suspect with a 6 year old car and 80k miles you are not going to get very far. They will say the replacement at 4 years was a goodwill gesture. Since they were replaced over 12 months ago and presumably you didn't contribute I don't think you will progress within the Lexus fold or outside it.
  2. First thing to do is drain and flush the fluid and put new in to the correct level ( check manual on how to check level ;) ).
  3. If cambelt had failed then I'm sure the car would not start and drive. Think you need a AA / mechanic to look at it first. What colour is the smoke?
  4. Good news :) So are you going to go back to your mobile mechanic and tell him?
  5. You need to take it to a proper mechanic and get a gas test done on the radiator and a comression test on all cylinders.
  6. Noticed play.com are selling unlocked iphones.
  7. Run flats you can drive at 50 mph after a puncture, they are normally fitted with sensors to indicate you have lost pressure in a tyre. Normal tyres you stop and change the wheel or phone a man / woman who can.
  8. I thought OBDII was computer software for access to faults etc via a reader.
  9. Did they put a meter on it, and if so what was the reading? Did they allow you to carry on driving? Give you a producer or a ticket?
  10. Alternatively, if you have a spare key, program the spare to push right up to the steering wheel and back up too. Then if a thieving tooe-rag wants to nick your key from your house make sure he "chooses" that one
  11. Only suggestion is that if it smells of petrol you should not drive it :(
  12. IIRC the squeaky seat is caused by some pins in the seat base, the fix was to remove them. Not all dealers did this though. Sure you will find it on a search on here. Mine was a 55 reg and had this fix done.
  13. No noise here on 2 IS250's. You choose a demonstator / used model on the forecourt and ask them to compare ;)
  14. I'd take it to a lexus recommended repairer for their advice, if you have one near.
  15. I was under the impression that these web deals all put you in contact with a UK Lexus Dealer to get the car at the agreed price. There is also on that you can get the dealers to do like an auction an bid down on the price they are going to offer you the car at.
  16. Print off the deal from the internet and take it to your dealer, if they want the business they will try to match the deal.
  17. Seems to strange to me too, ordered a new 2009 car but received a new 2005 car? Surely not :( It wasn't just the 2005 sat-nav was it. So what NEW 2009 car did you order? Petrol or diesel, and model spec?
  18. Think you will find it was only from sometime in 2009 that it went down to 148 for the CO2.
  19. Looking good mate, plenty of room for the car :)
  20. Hey nicnac, I undestand now and hadn't considered the electrical power steering. Just trying to make sense of it all.
  21. I think you need to go back to the garage and ask them what they did, the reason I say this is that they had no reason to touch the automatic gearbox. However, they did have reason to touch the steering rack and if I am correct this also uses ATF. So for your own pice of mind and ours please ask the dealer if they topped up the steering rack or the automatic gearbox with ATF.
  22. This doesn't make sense when you say: So if the problem wasn't there before and was after they had the car in; I can't see how topping it up can mean there was less in there ...............
