  1. If that's what really needs doing I'd be asking Lexus for a hefty contribution ;)
  2. I would be worried about the oil and the explanation you have had. It is essential that oil comes up to pressure quickly and coats all the moving parts ASAP. If the oil is "thick" and the pump is working I would expect the oil pressure to be higher. So IMHO something is wrong there. Although the above may well cause the engine to overheat you would expect the fans to come on so something different amiss there. Do not drive it if it's that hot as it will quickly blow the head gasket and more.
  3. No. it's wear on the pedal mechanism which causes it to jam :(
  4. Carplan "Wonder Wheels" 5 Litres - £8 Yes 5 litres for £8. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...tegoryId_165682 Subject to availability in stores, but you can reserve online and collect.
  5. Listen for rattles in dash, drivers seat and down by the seat belt and there were a couple of recalls - call your local Lexus dealer and get them to check to see if they have been done. Also look in the rear view mirror for that big :)
  6. Have you tried a claim under warranty, those LS's had lifetime warranties didn't they?
  7. I fear you have been throwing money at it and taking advice of people who don't really know the cause. If you can get it started take it to a Lexus dealer for diagnostics, then decide what you are going to do next.
  8. Hmmm, one post and recommending tyres and all over the web: http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&source=...98b2be80cf6bcd7
  9. It's when the car feels like it wants to follow guide lines in the road despite where you want to steer.
  10. So Lexus Leicester eventually said only 50% worn ( after the visit ), but you took it to Lexus Lincoln and had them done. So did they really need doing?
  11. You have no chance on a 9 year old car. Did you buy it from Lexus? You should have got the work done by whoever you bought the car from ( or negotiated the price ).
  12. Driver footwell and passenger footwell also.
  13. There should be one in the top of the boot ( not the lid ) and it's switched so you may have it switched off. It's about 3 inches by 1 inch in size.
  14. Try taking the mat out on the drivers side and see if the accelrator still gets stuck ;)
  15. So no multimedia / sat nav, no styling kit, not full Lexus SH - probably £4k or less.
  16. Did yo have to sign a declaration re. mileage, condition etc. ?
  17. At 30 mph in normal road conditions it will take 75 feet to stop, at 58 mph in normal road conditions it will take 315 feet to stop - over four times as far. In ice / snow it will take up to 10 times as far.
  18. That says it all, you are guilty as hell. I don't suppose any little children, dogs or cats live in those houses do they?
  19. No, car is now snowed in and nearest dealer is 15 miles away. I will phone them when the weather has improved as I've also got a problem with it revving high when cold, not clever on an automatic.
  20. They have just said on Sky News the Met Office is saying up to SIXTEEN inches in southern counties. We've had 4 inches so far in the West Midlands.
  21. Unfortunately they all are :( Have you tried looking on Lexus website and finding one then asking Norwich to get it transferred down for your inspection. This happens quite regularly in the motor trade. That way they would get the deal and you would not be messed about. Update - Birmingham have an SE for under £21k so should be easily negotiable with no p/ex. Lexus website for used is absolutley applaiing, you can't select model derivative and it;s so so slow ( goes through www.supercar.co.uk for some reason ).
