  1. Hi & welcome to LOC. You will find the boot release lever on the floor between the drivers seat and drivers door next to the fuel cap pull. You should also be able to unlock it with the key as well as the remote fob ( when it works ) - so check all three !! If you want a read in advance register on the USA forum and go to ( link above ): http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=26434 You will find electronic versions of the manuals ( although it's the IS300 most of it is the same ).
  2. There is no Lexus dealer in or around Redditch, certainly none with an 01527 prefix ( which covers a bit further afield then Redditch ). If you have the number saved call it and see who answers ..........
  3. Think on your drive is fine. Obviously if key is in the car and the door is open and it's stolen then insurance won't pay up. But I guess they could smash the window if the car was locked and still pinch it ( subject to deadlocks etc. ) so it still wouldn't be covered.
  4. I don't think you can, if the key is in the car it won't let you lock it, if the key is with you then you get bthe warning that you are getting.
  5. Just not true, it lasts a minimum of two to four weeks if applied correctly.
  6. So last year ( IMHO ). Try WD40 on the glue but don't rub it too hard.
  7. Try Meguiars, it's a gel and you just put it on with a sponge applicator ( buy separate ): http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...tegoryId_165682 available at other outlets ;)
  8. No it's not the stone walls, as it was doing it outside yesterday. I thought the stone walls might cut down the distance. It was only 5 to 10 feet but still enough to concern me if key is not in the openers hand :(
  9. Well I've been and tied it today and you can get into both the boot and the car without the key about your person, admittedly it's over short distances but I did this in my garage. This isn't how I understood it worked.
  10. I'll do some more tests tomorrow and report back. I was going to edit my first post but not a lot of point as the following posts include most of it.
  11. My son walked up to my car and opened the door, I said it was locked. Repeated it and although the key was in my pocket and I was about 20 feet away he could open the door. I was under the impression ( maybe wrongly ) that you had to have the key about your body to be able to unlock it.
  12. That's repairable. It's very important you have those photos, it shows he has gone over a give way sign on the road ;)
  13. I would say if you have to ask the question then don't do it. Take the insurance money and buy a replacement car. You ( or anybody else would never be to sure about a repaired CAT C. Leave it to the experts who no how to break a car ;)
  14. You have posted this on the UK site not the OZ one ;) Is that what you intended?
  15. The pictures have changed. in fact it's a different advert. Your car is still there on ebay ... tut ... tut ... including your avatar :(
