  1. Well, seeing as the 6310i is the last in the range that will fit that cradle. going blue tooth means you can change your phone to any blue tooth phone (44% of phones on market are blue tooth now comapared with 10% in January the trend is towards it now and expect 80% bluetooth by april 2004). If you already have a kit then why would you look at changing? you have he standard cradle kit, right? I had that before and it was great. other thing is, yours charges your phone. I have to get an accessory to get my blue tooth to charge it and have to run a wire from unit to phone... As it goes, I have my old charger cable and that does just fine. The up side over my old wire hands free is that this one will be legal after 1st Dec. the other type wont. yours will though. Also mine looks cool. there is no visble sign but for a button. even the mic is hidden down by my left knee. when I get in and start the car it asks me if I want to connect to L3XRS and I just press accept on my phone and I am wireless for sound. quality is as you would expect with nokia, very good. Hope that helps. Loz
  2. I once left an oil change for 14000 miles on the Lex and it did not drop at all below. THese engines really should not be using oil at any notable rate though. I now use a special Racing Oil that I check every so often but will be changing it every 6k rather than 9k. just cos I might want to keep the car and reckon its better not to carry crud around longer than is required... ON my motorbikes I used to change it every 3000 miles but they got thrashed to hi heaven!
  3. I take it you pass every time then, Dave? :yack:
  4. would have thought not as the kit is for the phone not the car.. :zee:
  5. THats the thing ROdders! Ive got the Nokia 112 Car kit and its great. BUt I had to track down the no longer made Nokia Car cup to house the phone. 2 things: i) you want to be able to dial at will from memory. not just the ten numbers you have on voice tags ii) YOu want to see who's calling you so you need to be able to see the phone for the caller ID. I got the cup and it sits in the Ex Dave Sportie moulded Phone rest. its the dogs mate!! it looks very star treck. JUst got a button on the console for volume and calls. Shwiiiiiing! :zee:
  6. No Card. PLayed for holes not for strokes... reckon from memory we went round about 20 over. JM tell me if I have told porkies here... we bogied and parred and the odd double bogie or worse were the exception. D, Does this mean you are coming to the next one? :zee:
  7. Never Mind Mate. Think of it as your lucky Scratch that will ward off any others! Ask Zee about his lucky dent... :zee:
  8. It ought to be recognised that while only two of the four members actually made it to the GOLF CHALLENGE, there was a bloody good day had by all! Great lunch in the club house. Best portion of Scampi I've had for a while. :P We took to the Tee. Loz with Great big Birtha, JM with a trusty Iron. first Hole, Russell. Loz to catch up... Set the tone for the day that did I think I may have been in the lead at one point but we played for holes rather than strokes. if you know what I mean... Turns out we are both pretty long hitters so were landing the ball within 10 yards on the 250+ strokes... a good walk out on a great course. Added bonus was a tour of a Motorcyle Factory. The Owner (friend of Mr Russell, of course) took us round the handmade frames he produces for engines by Triumph and Harley amongst others! I did spot a Jet engine in there and he mentioned the boys from the raf were coming round to stoke her up. you can imagine how much fun this place was! Anyway. All in All I lost the Round by a hole to superior Fire Power. Well Done Jonathan Russell for sorting out such a great day. Shame others had challenges getting there. Nexy time I am hoping for a bigger turn out so dust off yer clubs you lot! Congrats to the reigning Champ, JMRUSSELL! :zee:
  9. okay, sod you then!! Blumin fixed it meself! fuse was blowing because I don't seem to be able to tell live from neg! Now it works a treat. Given the new laws I reckon the blue tooth fitted hands free, and a Car cup by the manufacturer ( nokia fro me) is a great combo. I sit my phone in a cup with no wires. when a call comes in its from and invisible speaker... best stealth kit I have ever had! Better than Noz!!
  10. I know what you are thinking Fidgits!! Hands off!! its mine!!! oh... I could get seriously excited about that in a 430!! looks devine. sure you'll have no probs selling it. I mean, Look at it!!! IS there no way you can keep it? It just looks so damn good. So sorry to hear fo your plight. there is a lot of it about. I reckon there wll be many new companies sprouting up from people thinking a bit more entreprenurially ( made that word up) GOod luck with your next adventure. Loz
  11. time for your own club by the sounds of it Mark ;) Shame about the Nozzles... I'm determined to buy something off you! By the way. I thought you'd use scissors on the PTFE tape. And yes, I'd never Nos without it! Loz Ps. Does Dave do periodic leak tests ?
  12. got it all in but struggling... is it critical that the red wire goes to a permenantly live 12v source ( ie the battery?) can I get this source from the courtesy light switch on my Mk 2 GS. I realise there will be much hilarity at my inablity to wire a blue tooth kit in but I don't want to sabotage the car...
  13. Gary, If you want to try swaping suspension with a standard GS I'd be happy to swap for mine. I'd like the slightly lower ride and could live with the bumps I think... Let me know if your interested. All we'd have to do is find a garage that would swap 8 springs. Anyone know if this can't be done? Loz ps. as for deprecation. I'd like to think I bought mine after the first owner had burnt all the heavy depreciation. I do such high milage that the idea of getting a decent price back it long since gone... I finally have a car that will give years of faithful service and is a joy to own. even my neighbours have started to comment on the fact the car is still there.... they have seen many come and go...

Warning! Without Prejudice: I bought my 325i convertible off these guys. Keighley is 10 miles from me and is full on Pikey Central! place is run buy very young boys. one called Shab and his gormless looking brother who's name I forget. I turned up on thursday in my company 323ci and looked it over. agreed to have it on the friday. guy would meet me in Saltaire and I would drive him back to the garage. Friday Morning my 323ci was broken into case stolen. got the glass replaced. Friday night meet the guy and do the deal. got to my parents house in the rag top to house sit for the weekend. Go to my house on Saturday, BMW 323CI GONE! Gutted. Company car. not been with the company 4 months! had the window fixed the day before. not looking good. Cut a long story short: I worked in Manchester at the time and the car was found by the police a month later after a young asian lady had been invloved in an accident in it! Car was still in the same plates! She said she had got the car of a cousin in Keighely.... Nothing was ever proved but you don't have to be Einstein to see the conection really I think... Never done business with them since apart from Selling them the 325 Convertible back and My Jeep Cherokee. I left a copy of some cheapo Porn Mag in the glove box of the jeep just so they know I think they are Wan*ers!
  15. You're not wrong Loz but there is a general rule of thumb for the nitrous nozzle, which says the size of the nozzle is 100% of the expected power increase ie a 50hp increase would need a 100 nozzle, but this is not always the case as you will not get a 50hp increase if you have a restrictive exhaust etc etc. The fuel calibration varies dramaticaly for each car, but again the rule thumb suggests that is should 50% of the nitrous nozzle. The sizes of the nozzles are stamped on them. My Maths is soooo bad... I though 100 was 200% of 50 I'm so glad I passed GCSE Maths and don't have to do it again But thanks for clearing that up, TDI. SO can you send me a 200 Jet and the right fuel Jet to go with it? How much all in with postage? Also, will your Jets work with my Nos Lines and Fogger? If so, will you be a pal, and stick a few inches of PTFE tape so I can get a good seal? Cheers. Loz
  16. The boot on the New RX does it! just a bit slower.... is that cos Lex owners are older..?
  17. if you have an underbonnet fire are you still covered? Did you have to fit a fire extinguisher and sign a statement to say you would only use the car wearing a fully Approved flame retardant Suit? Or maybe they made an exception in my case...
  18. Did John Kettely ever get his wig back?
  19. Obviously one has 10bhp Jets in the system and in the event of an Accident I am sure that is exactly what the asessor would find. :P Hear is a good question: How would and Insurance Assessor even know what a 10, 25, 92 bhp jet looked like? its different for each car. 2 IS 200's could be getting 25bhp from different fuel and Noz jets completely! TDI, Tell me if I am wrong! Loz
  20. I was just lucky that Christmas, Mate! Did yours used to be very sensitive? So if you moved the Pc and the ram pack moved it would loose all the work you had just done. I had to be sooooo carefull with mine. I was only a bloody kid. was a great test of my patience... But writing your own Space Invaders Game or Snake Game was the thing to do back in the days..
  21. Is it because I is Blak? Best line I have found with Officers lately, mate ;) Or when they ask you your name tell them its Rodney King. :duh: :duh:
  22. Take it you guys were over privilaged! I had to make do with an Acorn Electron...after my ZX81 with 16k Ram pack! Funny how long its taken computers to get back to being that small. :zee:
  23. I've probly done 5k on mine and I am more and more disschuffed I think if I am honest... it almost feels like they are warped. I am guessing that they mght be really badly made but I am hoping that I can get them on a lathe for £20 and see if that helps? if not its back to the Shop and see what they can do. I have a feeling though that they will say, brakes are consumable part and we can't guarantee them... We'll see...
  24. Dave, there comes a point when you have to think about a trade policy... ;) :zee:
