  1. lol...true...as long as we keep them regularly serviced and look after them i'm sure they'll last for ages
  2. bloody hell thats round the corner from where I live then where it happened. IIRC theres a silver astra normally parked up on East Road off Northmoor Road. I've seen it damaged in the past as well so may be a start..
  3. I beat u bazza :P Think mines the lowest mileage car for the age on the forum possibly lol...just over 15k miles now on the clock...think its near the 15,500 mark actually now coz of the trip to london last week. Ticked over to 15k on the way there. Mines a 52 plate btw
  4. Thats great news about the induction kit mate! Glad its all worked out for u and them wheels look amazing! Did u do them urself? How long did it take?
  5. as everyone else is saying it probably just needs a full service and a good thrash on the motorway to clear and crap out the system. put some redex in it as well the next time u fill up petrol but make sure u put the redex in first then the petrol in order to achieve a good mix.
  6. I think by putting mdf as a base to the amp it'll provide a better mount for the amp so I think I'll probably go that route mate but as for the holes, I'll probably just make a template from paper the same size as the mdf backing plate that I'm gonna use then just mark with a bit of tippex where to drill then take it from there really. I'll take pics once the install is complete. Also got my car WIM'd last week whilst I was down in london for my bday but not managed to get a thread up for this yet....all the mods are underway :D
  7. ahh cool...no problem mate..cheers for the help tho. If it aint totally flat I think I may do it a similar way to urs then, will bolt a peice of mdf to the firewall then mount the amp to the mdf.
  8. yehhhhh thats what I mean mate....so I am right in thinking that theres a form of bulkhead/firewall behind the rear seats then...was it difficult to attach ur amp to it stav? I'm guessing u had to climb into the boot in order to do it and did it need drilling or did u use self tapping screws?
  9. hmm...drilling through the back of the seats doesnt really worry me tbh but I was thinking that I'd make a base for it first tho, basically attach a peice of mdf to the back of the seat then attach the amp to that but what i'm getting confused at is, once I remove the entire rear seat, am I left with a rear bulkhead or a big opening thru to the boot? if I'm left with a rear bulkhead with only a small opening for the ski hatch then how will I go about attaching the amp to this bulkhead? is everyone understanding me now lol i'm not too keen on the false floor btw or mounting the amp to a big bit of mdf the same shape as the boot as I'd like to keep my boot useable with access to the spare and just want a straight forward install tbh
  10. I understand the whole thing about 6x9s mate but what I was saying is that mounting my amp which will power my subs in the boot, in the civic I had it mounted on the back of the rear seat but the seats folded down on the civic but on the lex they dont so how should I mount the amp to the back of the seat now/inside the boot at the back...?
  11. lol...they totally lost me the first time I read thru the thread so had to read it again and it still lost me lol...just seems like a bunch of dribble to me
  12. I'll be finishing off my ICE install this weekend possibly by installing my amp and subs as have already fitted my headunit the other week but I've noticed that in order to replace the rear speakers u need to remove the back seats but what about in the case of installing an amp? Do I need to remove the whole back seat and then can I fit the amp to the back of the seat and then re attach the rear seat? If theres a walkthru of any sort then can someone help me please as I'm a bit confused coz it seems like theres a solid bulkhead behind the rear seats judging from the walkthru for replacing 6x9s
  13. I'm still after tickets :( gutted I didnt join the presale...coulda made a killing
  14. just read thru the whole thread and cant believe whats going on tbh....asi I really feel for u mate and as everyone else is saying....that defo aint no "new" kit....judging by the amount of corrosion on the charger itself its defo used I think and i'm guessing that the surface could also begin to look like this due to heat build up on the charger and it then cooling down again etc... hope it all works out mate but if i were u i'd return it and get ur money back.
  15. ordered my HID's the other day off ebay from diane-shop...think thats the same place u used aint it dan? I really cant wait for mine to arrive :)
  16. let me know as well please if ur in the manchester area mate as could possibly make it into a mini meet ;)
  17. yeh its one of the kits from diane-shop... http://stores.ebay.co.uk/diane-shop
  18. well I know its a bit of a change topic wise but instead of ordering my air filter yesterday I've ordered my HID's lol...I thought that the car can go another month on the current filter and the cost is roughly the same of that and the HID's and as I do a lot of night driving and uprated headlights are a real help then I thought I'd get the HID's this month instead. Got them from diane-shop on ebay for the bargain price of £42 inc delivery!
  19. thats what I was just thinking as well...it would need something like an apexi filter but they're well expensive...hmm...
  20. How someone can offer him more than £255 for 2x tickets is beyond me tbh when he was bugging me for payment just the other day and the prices on ebay have dropped loads so its a bit weird I think tbh. Maybe O2 genuinely have messed up?
  21. how have you found the performance/economy of your car since switching to the K&N mate? I know theres no real gain to be expected from it but did it help much with the economy?
