  1. Sorry to resurrect this thread but seeing as I'm looking to get some oil this week I've been looking at the 5w-30 fuchs xtr but can someone tell me if it'll be ok in my car. As some people have mentioned it depends on what kinda driving I'll be doing, well its mostly motorway mileage that I do so will need something good for that so any opions welcome...
  2. didnt someone mention that inverted led bulbs are better for the rear plate tho? just bit the bullet and bought some. hope they're good and last as I've had led sidelights in the past which aint lasted long at all. not tried this flat style of bulb before though. I previously had the 4 led ones
  3. :tsktsk: ...make sure u peel it off very carefully. what kinda tape is it mate? see the funny side of it tho, if it wasnt your car though then I suppose it would be a quite amusing scene. hope it comes off easily mate and doesnt damage ur paintwork.
  4. I'm thinking of getting the above oil for my IS200 as I'll be getting it serviced this weekend or on monday as its being put on the road then but dont know what its like. Has anyone used it before? Its from Opie Oils. Also how much will I need? Is one 5 litre bottle enough?
  5. Ok mate, well whatever u choose to do I wish you luck in the future and hope to see u around at some point. I'm sure other members will say the same as its always a shame to see members leave a club. Hope the beemer serves u well! Rehan
  6. I've had a look through the guys feedback and a lot of people arent liking the quality of his stuff, mainly his chrome handle covers and wheels covers but yet to see about his bulbs.
  7. has anyone tried these yet? what they like? cant really go wrong for a quid tho
  8. oh bugger they were cheap...any more left? lol edit: heres some more! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-501-W5W-XENON-WH...1742.m153.l1262
  9. I'm sure I wasnt dreaming lol but I'm pretty sure I saw an IS200 with the RX 18" wheels on the other day and they looked good.
  10. Elite Car Refinnishing done my lex, they're just off pink bank lane but otherwise I'd recommend Longsight motor body repair centre
  11. I'll try admiral today. As for mods, no real mods planned as of yet apart from tints and audio so I think I should be ok tbh. Once I get this year out the way and if I still have the car then I'll make a final decision regarding mods as my initial plan was to just keep the car a year and make some money back on it/break even once I sell it after a year but with the way the economy is going and with prices dropping so much I think I may end up keeping it a while to get my monies worth out of it.
  12. I was just about to say the same as I'm a member on THAOC as well as was initially gonna buy an accord before the lex
  13. I've got a similar problem with my passenger side door and think its the catch with needs adjusting as when I open the door it seems to drop down a bit but I've checked the hinges and they aint loose at all.
  14. If I had the money available kris then I woulda got a set of them alloys off u but with having to insure tax n mot the car this month I'm already struggling but if I were to win the lottery then I wouldnt think twice lol
  15. Always loved your car kris. Its looking even better with it lowered now and the bumper suits it so well. That reminds me, I really need to get them pics sorted for u for that facia adapter dont I. Can u pm me ur email addy again please mate. Cheers
  16. I've just had my best quote from direct line of £942 fully comp. What does everyone think? Should I go for this?
  17. A full service will be getting done anyway along with timing belt and idler and tensioner being changed. Just needed to know really if I should get the other belts done at the same time as they all have to come off anyway in order to change the timing belt.
  18. Not a very sensible route to take. We have all been young with no driving record so have had to pay higher premiums. Have you thought what might result if an accident occurred? 1/ You would not be on the electoral role at the address you had given. 2/ Your address would be different on your driving licence. 3/ The address which you have given as yours on the V5 would not match. These are all things which the insurer can check without reference to you and any one of them could be used as a "get out" by the insurers. All three would also constitute offences in there own right. The upshot would be that anything you did end up paying for your insurance would be a waste of money as you would not really have valid cover. If things are that tight financially you could maybe pay in instalments or increase your voluntary excess? Good luck finding a satisfactory quote but don't give false information to them....it may well come back to haunt you! I understand where you're coming from mate but i'm at the other half's more than i'm at mine so having the insurance under their address I think may not cause a problem as all the insurance actually ever want to know is if the car will be at the address where the insurance is registered and it is.
  19. feck me!! where abouts in manchester u from? 23 and ur paying 1100?! u got any no claims bonus tho mate? I'm still on the hunt for the insurance but will try lexus insurance as well
  20. now that looks much better than a standard rx with standard wheels I think.
  21. Just out of curiosity has anyone used a company called Allen & Allen? Its a group of companies with mymotorquote being one of their companies but i've been getting very wierd responses from them. Initially I rang up adrian flux and they couldnt get me a good quote but they passed me onto some other company which searched a few others and passed me onto allen & allen, anyway, they rang me back and the guy had the worst attitude problem ever saying that why havent I rung up the company I had got a quote from to confirm the quote and that I was stupid not to ring them when I was awaiting a call back. Eventually I put the phone down on them but a short while later got a phone call from mymotorquote who have been giving me all sorts of weird quotes so has anyone used either company before and what did u think? I didnt really like the sound of them so dont think i'll go for them.
  22. Woohoo!!! I just did a quote on the churchill website as my friend told me to try them as he's with them and they quoted me just over £1900 but thats under my postcode then my mate said try under his postcode and it dropped to just over £1500 so then I did it under my gf's postcode and got it for just over £1400. Have just got another quote on moneysupermarket for just over £1000 so looking into that now!
