  1. Good point, I am waiting for the alternator company to collect the wrong one and old one and see what they say, as they are local and get things PDQ, I hope to know by mid PM today. The one they sent was a bit to small, so the top adjuster hole would not line up, not even with a smaller bolt as a temp fix.
  2. Unless my alternator is sorted today I won't be able to make it as no alt = no car, so I may have a ticket and stand pass?????? Let you all know later.
  3. New alt. arrived at 9am today and.................. wrong one. Not looking good unless I can find one today.
  4. Should have one tomorrow but I will shout if it turns out to be the wrong one!!! Thanks for the potential helping hand.
  5. Looking good, only comment is your intercooler is a bit small...........
  6. nice one mate, good to see you got it all done and up and running now, please get a video of yours cars at the Pod :winky: raceing :winky: be good to see what times i have to beat hehe B) when i get my IS back on the road in the comeing weeks By the looks of yours you will be racing Monster Mats creation!!
  7. Poor people. But since when was an IS200 high powered?
  8. Looking forward to it!! Now I can run a 1/4 mile, so I may well be in with a chance now :D
  9. I am doing my best to ensure the parts arrive to get her running again. TGT's supplier hasn't got one (Alternator), so I have bought one locally that should be with me tomorrow AM, and then it just needs fitting. it's an import spec one so none of the wholesalers carry them. I bet someone at the pod will be selling one!! Just my luck.
  10. I could have got one today and got the car running this afternoon but Toyota wanted 450+Vat for an alternator, where as waiting till tomorrow although a pain in the rear to get it fitted in time for Sunday won't cost anything. Old one will be sent back so the re-builder can investigate what went wrong. Lucky it wasn't in an MR2 Turbo because you have to drop the exhaust and subframe to remove the alt. thats a big job. There is loads of room in my engine bay so at least I stand half a chance getting it replaced even if light fails me. I will get to the Pod even if I have to push the thing
  11. They are already doing road "calming" diversions around Silverstone, but it would be a VERY bad idea to go any where near that part of the world on Sunday.
  12. Got mine yesterday, all I need now is a car to go in............... or hope it is repaired in time, something tells me I'm not meant to be going this weekend
  13. I havn't watched a full episode but did catch a bit of one, the car is great I love those old school muscle cars, but then it changed shape into a pick up truck?????? lost interest there, a bit to much like Transformers.
  14. had a look at this one on Monday, it is going to fly!! I think you should stick a 3S in it!! and stop messing around with 1.4 turbo engines And your brothers new/rebuilt 2.2 3S looks MENTAL that turbo is something else, no room in the boot for shopping though, full of intercooler and air pipes. I hear that the 3SGTE Starlet TGT built embarrassed an Ferrari F40 last week!!
  15. And the alternator has just failed on me. New recon unit, not even a used one so lord only knows why. No charge at all coming out of it, brushes OK, but I can't test the Diodes (as I don't know how to). But deff. not working. James is sending a replacement in the post so should get that tomorrow. Problem is time now, I am vary booked at work and fitting it at night is not going to be easy...............
  16. Well getting there. Don't rush the last few hurdles though ;)
  17. You need to contact This man

    Altezza Sump

Similar engine to the MR2 but the sump is different, the oil pick ups are in different positions because the different layouts of the cars. My car is using a moddified Altezza sump on a S3GTE engine from an MR2, to get the oil pick ups in the correct position.
  19. 1 bar everyday use, but mapped so 1.2 bar is also available, via the boost control valve thing. Keeping the boost low at 1 bar for the foreseeable future, I don't want another turbo to go pop!!
  20. I was under the impression that it is illegal to sell a used, second hand, or display "product" unless the customer is told first? and then a suitable iscound negotiated.
  21. Gutted for you, the IS200 is not easy to steel without the keys so someone really wanted it.
  22. They are all great guys and know their stuff also.
