  1. What do you recommend? I usually use Gliptone for Semi Aniline leather but I find it makes the leather shiny, which I want to try and avoid.
  2. Sounds like wear and tear unfortunately. Even it it wasn’t, Lexus isn’t interested in anything interior related even as a good will gesture. They will just insult you by saying you haven’t taken care of it.
  3. No, it appears that the addition of a USB input doesn’t exactly coincide with that facelift year.
  4. Before the 2009 facelift, the navigation system was only available as the Multimedia option which included the screen, nav, reversing camera and Mark Levinsion audio upgrade. After the 2009 facelift you could still opt for the above, but there was also a cut down version, giving you the nav and rear camera system but without the ML sound system. This was known as the ‘Full Map’ option. From the 2011 facelift, the Full Map option was the only option remaining as the ML system was dropped from all models apart from the ISF. There will be some ‘11’ plate cars around with the ML system but they will be pre MY11 facelift cars registered in 2011. It is possible that the 2009-2010 SE-L were only available with the full blown Multimedia system and the Full Map version was reserved for the lower spec grades.
  5. This was the case then we were looking to buy a brand new SE-L from the dealer back in 2008. The multimedia system was not standard on any 2IS other than the ISF. Below are multiple examples of SE-L cars current for sale with no Multimedia system fitted (easily identified by no screen in the centre console), so no ML. For clarity they all have the wood trim that’s only fitted on the SE- L grade and some adverts also show the rear blind button and head light washers indicating HIDs fitted, which are also exclusive to the SE-L trim. Example 1 Example 2 Example 3 Example 4 Example 5
  6. Sorry, this is not correct. The Mark Levinsion system that came with the Multimedia system was available as a option across the entire range from launch until the MY 2011 facelift and was not standard on any grade. So it is possible to buy an SE-L without the ML system. MY 2011 cars and onwards were only available with the Full Map option which is essentially the Multimedia system minus the Mark Levinsion stereo
  7. I’m guess the DAB module on the 2IS were dealer or port fitted options. Our 2012 RX & GSF both have integrated aerials.
  8. Sounds like a GSF would be perfect if you have / or are considering kids. We have two young kids and there is plenty space in the back and the boot of our F. We had a 2011 IS250 before and that was a real struggle with the car seats in the back, let alone getting the pram in the boot without fully dismantling it.
  9. I can confirm that the passenger side mirror should be able to be adjusted in all planes by the drivers side remote.
  10. I can’t recommend PPF highly enough. I paid around £1800 for the front bumper, headlights, badge wings and wing mirrors to be protected with PPF on our GSF, a year ago from Topaz and it still looks like new. So far any blemishes from bird poo etc has been removed with a bit of heat. I would be very wary of using the local Lexus body shop without seeing their work. I’ve had two Arctic Pearl cars painted by the Bristol ‘approved centre’ via Bristol Lexus and the match wasn’t very good at all. Our IS had the bonnet resprayed and the wings blended, and the blend wasn’t good. I sent it back but there wasn’t much improvement. I had the front bumper resprayed and the carbon trim re lacquered on our GSF (5 layer Sonic Titanium) by Topaz’s approved body shop, before the PPF was placed and the match was perfect. So I would find a good body shop and not assume that Lexus would necessarily be a good place for a respray.
  11. Congratulations on your new car OP. The IS 250 is a great car. 2. In the 8 years that I owned our IS250, the blind got stuck on one side once and never again. Very random. 7. I had both a 2007 and 2011 SE-L. Both had the auto dimming function but neither had a compass. This wasn’t available for the UK market even as an option.
  12. Are you referring to the front spoiler fitted to the MY11 F Sport cars which also fitted around the fog lights? If so then I had this fitted to my MY11 SE-L by Nottingham Lexus when I purchased the car, so it is available. I don’t think they were ridiculously expensive as the dealer fitted them as part of the deal.
  13. Wouldn’t the front callipers be a problem with fitting smaller wheels ?
  14. As above really, it’s the noise and sense of occasion and not just the performance for me. Mine averages about 16-18 mpg for my daily commute but it can easily do over 30mpg on a run. However it’s not really the right car if MPG is a concern. Id say go for it. As you have noted, there isn’t much time left to own a V8. You can worry about economy when we are all driving BEVs.
  15. Sounds like it might have been @hockeyedwards
  16. The carbon is delaminating on the drivers door and on the passenger side of the dash. They must have used that abrasive cleaner or an air freshener must have dropped on it also 😤. Clearly looks to be another rare occurrence 😤😡
  17. Thanks for your message and advice. My car was booked in for the dealer to investigate this problem, as the car is still under warranty. Fortunately in the meantime it started working again during, another motorway journey and has been fine ever since. I will keep an eye on it and get it book back it should the message reappear. Unfortunately my ODB2 reader arrived shortly after the car fixed itself so I was unable to check for any error codes.
  18. There is a ‘67 plate with 22k miles on AT for £42750 at an independent. No photos yet.
  19. The question was intended for @RustyB. Remote start is a popular feature in America. It allows you the option to heat or cool the car before you get in, which I would find useful. If the system also recognised your phone in your pocket and would allow you to open and start your car ( with the Pandora app open in the background) then it would replace the Lexus fob, which would be one less thing to have in my pocket. I think these features may be available on certain Pandora systems and I was just wondering if Rustyb had these options on his new system.
  20. Can you use the app to open and start the car instead of the fob?
