  1. That looks like a great result. Very nice colour. I’ve never seen another GSF in that colour. Must be very rare. The carbon piece in the front bumper looks to have taken a bit of a hammering though, I always thought that it was a bit of a silly design.
  2. Lexus ECUs are notorious for being locked, so remaps are very rare. Being an NA engine I don’t think any remap on it’s own would release much more BHP anyway.
  3. It’s just the 4th Gen LS from around 2006 as Colin stated above.
  4. a) This was available from the launch of the 2IS, however it was a very rare option. b) The multimedia option with the reversing camera was available on all 2IS models again from launch. This gave you guidelines when reversing and also some kind of parallel parking lines, although I’m not entirely sure how these worked as side cameras were never an option. No IS model came with forward guidance as a front camera was never an option either. c) No IS model was ever fitted with full parking assist. I think the only model in the Lexus range to have this feature was the LS, although I’m not entirely sure which generation this was fitted to. Possibly the 3rd Gen model. I’m sure someone with more knowledge will come along soon. We had an IS 250 for 8 years and it was never a difficult car to park with the reversing camera and dipping wing mirrors on the SE-L model.
  5. Welcome and congratulations. You must have one of the last ones registered in the UK.
  6. I like the idea and the Lexus logo and test but not sure on the outer ring. Lexus fitted door lamp projectors as standard to the GSF 2020. I have fitted them to our 2017 GSF.
  7. They are available but only approximately 62 were ever purchased new in this country. Many started life as dealer / Lexus corporate and press cars. They are a relatively rare model in the UK.
  8. The ride in the GSF is also very good, insurance is cheaper than our RX450H and equal to our IS250 at the time of change over, extended warranty is the same as a regular 4GS and servicing costs are reasonable. Fuel and brakes are more expensive though but worth it IMO 😊
  9. Some serious money right there. Looking forward to seeing the result👍🏾
  10. Orange was my first choice when we were looking for a GSF back in 2017. They were very good value back then, but I just wasn’t sure if the Orange would get old after a while. Ultimately it just wasn’t the right time.
  11. Yes that is correct. No idea why either.
  12. AVS wasn’t fitted on either the RCF or GSF until late 2017
  13. Pretty sure that doesn’t have AVS as stated on the advert. I like the Orange but yes way too expensive for the year.
  14. Congratulations. Looking forward to seeing some photos.
  15. Yes, the mirror always worked as normal with the toggle switch even though it didn’t dip fully or at all in reverse. It may be worth popping the mirror out to lube and / or check the mechanism is OK before purchasing another memory module.
  16. Early 2IS SE-Ls often suffered with the mirror failing to fully dip or dip at all when reverse is engaged. Manually pushing the mirror up and down the fully extremities with your fingers would temporarily fix it but it wouldn’t take long for it to stop working again. IIRC it was either the mechanism that started to seize, which could be dismantled and lubricated or the teeth from the cogs were damaged. I think there were also cases where the memory module needed replacing. We never got around to storing this out on our 2007 models and it never was a problem on our 2011 model so I guess Lexus made some improvements.
  17. We are paying £950 from Direct Line for both our GSF (6k PA) & RX 450h (10k PA) including Business miles for the wife and myself. We both have clean licences, 9+ years protected NCB and are 39 years old. Both cars are parked on the driveway in Bristol. No one could get close to Direct Line. In fact Lexus insurance was around this price just for the F! Interestingly, the GSF was significantly cheaper to insure than our previous IS250 and also our RX, until this year.
  18. That is cool. I would have one to replace our RX 450h. I agree that it’s not the best body and chassis to accommodate this engine but I still like the idea of it.
  19. The 4RX was available from 2016 IIRC. I think both the 3RX and 4RX F Sports were available with a red interior (less popular on the 3RX) but also with a black one too. The HUD was standard on the 3RX F Sport but an option on the 4RX F Sport. The touch screen was introduced for the ‘20 model year along with Apple Car Play and Android auto. We have a ‘12 plate RX and a ‘17 plate GSF so I’m not sure if a ‘17 plate RX comes with paddles. I can’t imagine they would be much use though with a CVT box.
  20. I take it that as you are considering an Advance model as well as an F sport, you are looking at a 3RX (as the 4RX does not have an Advance trim level)? If this is the case then the F Sport does not come with the digital display or flappy paddles. It does have the HUD though.
  21. I do like these. Difficult to beat bang for buck and something different to the usual German machines that fill the streets and car parks.
  22. Our GSF had a smart repair carried out on the front bumper before we purchased it and it wasn’t very good at all. I wish the dealer left the chip alone and it is one of the reasons we had the front bumper restored by a proper body shop. I also haven’t had a very good experience with the local ‘Lexus Approved’ body shop which turned out to be Bristol Audi. I think some of the Lexus paints (Sonic Titanium & Arctic Pearl to name a couple) are very hard match and they never seem to be able to do it. Hence why I’ve gone for the PPF this time !
  23. I know the feeling. We purchased the car without seeing it in person and funnily enough the dealers description no major stone chips didn’t include the carbon piece. I lived with it for a year but then had the whole front bumper restored and the front end and wing mirrors PPFd, as people pulling in front of me leaving no space stressed me out on the school runs 🤦🏽‍♂️🙄.
