  1. hi live in northampton, had mine cut in northampton can give u name, address and phone number if u want, key works okay.
  2. hi,so u r on ur 2nd lexus then?a bit like me then?so r u after a sat nav or oem housing with screen etc?if the later u might be lucky
  3. hi you can try www.cheaptoyotaparts.co.uk,hope u find it helpful.
  4. hi,gud on you,am on my 2nd is 200,take ur time, have a gud look round, there are surprisingly quiet a lot for sale - autotrader, ebay, pistonhead, etc. There seem to be more SE navigators for sale than sport navigator, personally i prefer the sports.
  5. hi,sadly i havent got 1 but my is 200 sport got written off and is in a breakers yard(autoparts), in raunds, wellingborough, check them out on the net and email them or give them a call.
  6. come to think of it parthibans right, how did the car get through the auction without being driven,or was it one of those breakers auctions???furthermore you would have thought that the auction house would have said it has no keys?.Personally i would also give the auction house some grief and get them to help.Just a bit of advice when buying a lexus is 200/300 sure it has the master key - that is the 3 buttoned FOB so as to avoid heartache.
  7. hi there and welcome to Loc,its a shame that you bought the car with no keys(how on earth did that happen??)Personally my 1st port of call would be to try lexus as they might be able to find your key number on their database and make you a key - explore all possibilities with them and if that fails, then try a breaker or scrap yard - in doing so I would recommend u make sure the car(u r getting the bits from - locks etc)is the same year and model as yours as they sometimes do not always work or fit each other.Be careful and good luck, hope you keep us informed as to how u get on. john.
  8. hiya any luck with the disc then???
  9. hiya, well see how the deep clean and valet goes(if not too expensive),alternatively u should be able to pick up a complete interior(cream or black)depending on condition for about £200.Hope this helps.
  10. hi,yes i would say it is more than likely it is the coil pack.
  11. hi well to start with hope u bought the right disc?the module or player is in the boot on the right hand side,u will have to take out the black plastic tool holder that covers the spare tyre to get at it. Mine is a 2003 in which case u have to undo 2 screws and take off the metal protector,on doing this there is a black botton to the left which u slide revealing an opening, if u then press the top/side of the slide button this ejects the disc. However as urs is a 2001 i think it is slightly different.hope this helps, john.
  12. hi,you shouldn't have a problem,as I changed the battery on my 3 button key fob and it worked straight away - so I would say it shoulsd be okay.As for your 2nd question not sure what the problem is,I have sets of 2keys and they both open and lock the car manually too.
  13. hiya please dont be naf the only way round the emissions is for you to put the cat back on each time its due an mot or the other option is have a sports cat fitted - alot of stainless steel exhaust places make them as well. For the mot if the car has a cat it has got to be mot tested with 1 full stop.
  14. hi just a word of advise if u intend fitting metal caps please put some grease/copper grease on the inside b4 screwing onto the value, stops it for oxidizing and make them easy 2 take off too.
  15. Hi, there is a Is 200 spec sheet on here, find it and have a look,it lists all the differences, the sports is different in that it has amongst others - a rear boot spoiler with brake light, limited slip diff, lower ride height, rear tinted windows, and for want of another word chrome effect pedals and scuff plates.I personlly prefer the sports over the se and have owned 2.They are more se's about as they were cheaper to buy new than the sports.
  16. well,if you can prove to yourself that it has been done thats okay.I have always kept the receipts, bills, mots, service history etc of every car i have owned and passed these on to next buyer so that they have an idea of what has or hasnt been done to the car(would recommend anyone reading this does the same)it helps in the long run.
  17. hello, why not write to the previous owner and ask him/her if it has(ask him to include bills if possible)?.I have owned 2 Is 200's, I had the cambelt and the other bits that go with it changed at 53,000 the first one, and on the second car had it changed 55,000 - it is recommended that they be changed every six years or 100,000 mls which ever comes first(too many people like taking the risk and going for the latter)sadly when it then snaps it costs a lot more to fit.Not too long ago was going to have a look at a Is 200 sport ltd edition with 75,000 mls on the clock but when i phoned up and asked if cambelt had been done, the dealer insisted it needed doing every 100,000 mls(knowing better I didnt bother contacting the dealer gain) Simply put if you cannot ascertain if the belt has been done or not, you are better off having it done - always better to be safe rather than sorry/a stitch in time saved nine. cheers john.
  18. As far as am aware u have nothing to worry about mine is same okay. john.
  19. Hi sadly pot holes, speed humps, kerbing dont help,so it becomes a process that needs doing every so often.
  20. that could be a possibility, had my 1st is 200 sports for 2yrs and never had to have change any,had similar problem with my partners renault(apparently a commom fault with renaults)where we needed up changing all 4 within 2yrs,however been okay since then.
  21. hi i go along with kam05,had similar problem with my is 200 18 mths ago until i had geometry done, seen fine since.
  22. hope i dont confuse you even more, well the autos are slightly slower and also tend to use a bit more fuel, having said that although i personally refer manuals,i have owned and driven an auto and they are pretty good.
  23. it also means that on leaving the car if u lock it by the remote and press the lock button twice a few seconds after each other, that if someone tried to break into ur car they woould be unable to open the doors, hope this helps.
  24. You dont need to unbolt it from its chasis, all u need to do is unscrew the two bolts to take the metal cover off which then gives u access to the module. On the left hand side is a button which if u slide opens the dvd flap, just above this is the eject button which if u then press in for a few seconds ejects the disc(this should be done with the ignition key in the acc position).hope this helps?
  25. welcome aboard,hope u find it rewarding.
