  1. yeah it was a bit of an arse as such, took being left for ages on the "3rd" click as second nothing happened.. Am looking into getting one of those battery saver things that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket that keeps the juice flowing as well
  2. XBOX live is by far the best service though.. cant say i have met one happy PS3 online user.. struggling to get into matches.. far less competant servers.. less online content.. You get what you pay for, and in the end the paultry sum of £35 a year gets you a near perfect system that is only at the mercy of your internet connection.. free stuff all the time.. its the worlds biggest online comunity with regards to gaming and gets better and better and better..
  3. i do most of my own and only trust to dealers what i cant do myself... only becuase i have an inherant distrust of people.. lol... for example brakes and brake fluid.. will only do it myself.. even if i have people help me i have to double check their work! Routine service stuff is soo easy.. and in the end you save yourself hundreds for a few hours work
  4. and being an old school software pirate... a 10pk of TDK casettes, a twin deck casette recorder and a lady at asda who didnt know they could be copied.... sorry lady but this one didnt work... can i swap it for another game? certainly dear.... 1980's pirate baby.. and under 10 years old! lol Also... buying the books from boot fairs that you had to type in code for about 2 days to create your own games!
  5. Cant confirm if the full version of GT5 will have it... will be interesting to see how it compares to the Forza version.. as i believe that when they digitised the track every single variation in the surface was added such as levels etc... and even the grafiti! PS3 owners do tend to be people that have friends with them (or gadget lovers) I think any kid would be happy to have either... .personaly when growing up i never got any of these things... all my friends etc had the mega drives etc for christmas... i was still plaing with my C64.. with tape deck.. lol
  6. bugger, cant remember thier name.. a few people on here have used them... put up a question in the main room
  7. wouldnt buy blueray discs myself... still like HD DVD's as they are about £3 at the mo.. lol Now that HD Downloads are more prevolent i will be going down that route, so even blueray has its lifespan.. but the stand alones are now sub £200.. so in a few more months they will be eligible for cerial box prizes.. lol.. I personaly dont agree with the graphics side of things.. have seen the consoles played on identical tv's next to each other with identical games... and no difference.. have also seen all the indipendant chip tests etc... and there is no real difference.. ever remember the "emotion" chip set.. that never lived up.. If the PS3 was as good as they say i would get one.. .i still will at some point but am waiting till it becomes worth it.. the one feature i do like though is the Bluetooth as it is cool. But Xbox are having a mini relaunch of its software in november changing the dash board completely... bringing it smack bang into line with the Wii and the PS3... and for free too I used to be a die hard PS2 fan.. hated microsoft etc etc.. but now feel cheated by sony for selling over hyped and under speced consoles to us compared to other markets. I now own 3 seperate 360 consoles (2x elites and 1x normal 20gb) on 3 tv's.. and have been running 360's since jan 06... and still love every second of them.. the controler is far more ergonomic in my opinion
  8. simply stunning... is there still a skill shortage out there???? **runs off to book next flight to oz**
  9. When I bought mine, UK PS3s wouldn't play PS2 games (well they do but do it weirdly) whereas US ones do (which is partly why I got a US one, and the fact it was a LOT cheaper :) ) Either way I'd go for the PS3 hands down, have you seen the quality of the graphics side by side? The PS3 is an unbelievable machine - Aaron's right about games, but that will improve (the PS3 has only been out a short while compared to the XBox) Other than that the PS3 is a far more versatile machine. It is an HD games console, a blu-ray player, a wireless media server, and with PlayTV, a twin tuner HD freeview PVR. As you have a PSP it makes it even more interesting as you can use your PSP to watch TV or stuff recorded on your PS3 anywhere in the world using wifi.................not sure if you'll use it but it's seriously cool :winky: The Xbox 360 is a HD games console... ???? You can download HD Movies from xbox live.. or you can buy a HD dvd addon for £30... The PS3 is a good console no doubt about it.. but by the time the PS3 gets good... the next gen XBOX will be out.. then sony can try and play catch up again
  10. i would say the 360.. as they are so well priced now.. and everyone i know who has a PS3... also has a 360... that is used 90% of the time and the PS3 is only used for games like GT5.. The 360 is a lot more family orientated too, and at the moment you could get 2 360s for the price of 1 ps3! Games starting at £10 for hte 360 as well... can network the 360s together easy so that you can play against each other or online... free trial downloads off Xbox live as well will stop the need for new games being bought all the time too.. Plus they can be customised with individual faceplates etc
  11. What by breaking all his fingers so he cant answer his phone or emails?
  12. there is Lexus Sidcup on Ruxley Roundabout... thats about 10 mins from dartford.. There is also an indipendant lexus specialist in sidcup
  13. Normally they are, the 7G tronic box in our CLS is fantastic, the 5 speed box in the C180 I drove was awful..........the kickdown was so leisurely that by the time it finally did it you didn't need it anymore, and if you put it in sport mode, it would simply hang on to gears for way too long, even if you're just feathering the throttle. Not a good gearbox at all, I wouldn't buy one............did like the car though, so would just have to buy one of the bigger V6 engines with the 7 speed box instead! :P I had a CLK280 (V6 Petrol) on a 2007 reg with the 7 speed transmission.... and all i can say is how glad i am to be back in my lexus!!! It was too grabby and as you said holds onto each gear too long... and boy do you know your changing gear.. and the engine braking in the first two.. for example flooring it to get out into a road due to a gap in traffic.. when you let off you think your gonna go through the window!! lol
  14. wow that is truely awful.. even if the airbags were fully lifted surely the wheels would be out of the arches by at least 2"... It seriously looks like an elephant was dropped from a great height onto it!
  15. if the company is going to be dissolved then there will be no company to make any future proffits.. so he will win more in the long run.. all you are owed is your share of existing proffits and stock etc value.. if he starts another company with the things he bought from this one your entitled to jack ****...
  16. just one thing although they must be replaced in pairs.. thats "axle" pairs... i.e. front or rear pairs.. and not sides... as i have seen that done before.. lol. I could understand if the car was a few weeks or months old (or the shock was) but on a 98/99 model i really cant undestand why they would have done that
  17. well here is a strange one.. Since i had my car back from the bodyshop the battery was certainly not at its best.. lights would dim and take about 3 seconds of cranking (slowly) before start.. tested today and was dropping to 5V when under load from started.. 13.7 when alternator running... clearly they let it either discharge fully for 5 weeks or ****** the battery charging it! Anyways... bought a brand new calcium battery today.. swapped over then did the ten mins on second click.. nothing..... phoned up the people that we use for security keys etc who said it needs up to 40 mins.. have 6 mins to go to see if it will start... bloody anoying feature i have to say! very frustrating!
  18. damn seems like he is really an arse! Well option number one is to push him down the stairs... lol... A less extreme option is to just take the stuff and put it into storage before he does... in the end you cant be done for theft if you own it or even part of it.. you need to get any items of paperwork that prove you have financial imput etc into the company and for what. There will be no easy solution as such, maybe a pro bono solicitor if your lucky.. or one that will take a payment upon closure..
  19. well if you ever do need any help mr wozza im only down the road.. I am determined to find every little bit of helpful info on the GS as i knew my last IS inside out and i wanna get the same with this one... just gotta finish building my new workshop and i will be even more able to help.. My next thing is to develop an adaption ring so i can mount a 12" sub in place of the current 10" sub so that the car car remain stock to a point... no compramise is the theme to any of the mods in this one.. then a full write up on how to install the Parking sensors when i order them..
  20. the best thing i have ever heard with regards to saving petrol is this... Allow yourself more time.. In the end having an extra 10 mins to get to work in the morning will make you drive that bit slower.. where as being 10 mins late will have you acting a bit more heavy on the gas so to speak.. And it does work... although im now charging myself £2 for each oversleep!
  21. cheers wozza, if i make a decent PDF or something containing the propper wiring diagrams where can i upload it.. or can LOC host it or something so it doesnt get lost in cyber space...
  22. well i keep trying to get all the photos together.. and im nearly there just never have the time in the evenings to draw it up propperly.. so in the mean time here it goes: Firstly remove the old sterio and the glove box. the above photo is in relation to the back of the head unit.. (the photo was before i fully worked out the wiring so ignore the label that says CD changer as this is infact the 3 wires that control the different heights of the stock antane (sp) Put simply i only made use of the wire for the antanne and the power, a stock toyota harness has an female interface for this plug and is later mated to a stock iso plug to provide the 12v switched and live plus a ground source free of interference. Taking the iso plug i rearanged some of the pins leading to the toyota iso so it matched the 12v signals and the gnd signals as per the photo bellow Ground was the far left and bottom pin IIRC. The next phase was to identify where the amp sent the signals to the speakers so we could effectively bypass the amp with a plug and play solution. This was achieved when we found that the top two plugs on the amp (in white) were the speaker outputs. These plugs are male toyta harness plugs as per a toyota iso harness kit... handy eh? I made up 8 wires about 60cm long and connected these to the back of the toyota plugs, this then ennabled me to connect directly to the speakers and run the wire back to the head unit where i then connected said wires to the iso plug that was conected to the stock power input.. if that makes sense So the long and short (without diagrams yet) is that you ditch the stock wires that take the signal from the head unit to the amp, make a lead that takes the new signal from the new HU to the wires that come out of the amp. you then take the power from the stock head unit and feed it to the wires into the iso plug for the new HU. I have photos of the whole job and pinouts etc etc and total costs are less than £20 all in for a complete plug and play solution with no hissing or popping.. sorry its a bit quick and crap at the moment but im at work
