  1. if its bleached then call a few re-trimming companies as they can re-tanalise the leather.. but i doubt that the products they use to do it would be availiable outside of their industry.. gotta be worth a go
  2. i gotta get round to claying my GS.. Bought the megs fine clay and also a large bar of the Autosmart Purple clay.. a heavy grit one.. for an initial de-griming and then onto the megs finer clay for a full polish.. I have a 800w car polishing mop... should i use this first or last after a clay? i think i may just leave that till the spring as there is too much **** on the road to see the full benifit of a mop detail
  3. Halfords night before deicer is an awful product that is actualy very very dangerous in winter.. I used it a couple of times last winter and yes.. it does reduce the amount of ice on the screen.. But.... Its a silicone like substance that on your side windows and front gives a foggy/blury view into the world... and once its been on there its a nightmare to remove.. Tried over 4 different brands of cleaner before using an industrial panel wipe to remove it! each time you put the window down it would smear and recoat the glass! Luckily at the times this happend i was carrying my "emergency box" which is filled with everyhing from 1st aid stuff to gloves, foil blankets... and glass cleaner etc.. So was enough to get me home at night.. NOT RECOMENDED AT ALL.... Even complained to halfrauds
  4. i have to admit to seeing a few Passat CC's on the road and thinking... hmmm wouldnt mind one of those..
  5. i like every aspect apart from the front bumper side vents
  6. i think the total stands at 190 dead so far... I cannot see what was achieved, it just makes me dispair at what these people are capable of.. How can any god reward those that kill indiscriminately...
  7. http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/11/m...der_attack.html These photos really seem to capture what the news does not. What has happend there truely saddens me that people can do this to each other in the name of religion (admittedly twisted and warped views on religion)
  8. yeah i have to say there is no build up anymore... Christmas rolls into easter/valentines day.... rolls into summer goods... bbqs etc... straight into halloween... straight back into christmas.. with no breaks!
  9. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sealey-SJBEX200-2-To...A1%7C240%3A1318 these ones are pretty cheap and could do the job...
  10. I know... been having a bad week.. would have normaly told ya just to **** off... lol... need a damn good sleep and a day in bed.. As for the lifts... have found them brand new and shiney for £699.. and that was from a well overpriced place too... lifting beams are their full title i will let you know if i get any more in... if there are two sets.... lol I think my dream house would basicaly be a giant garage with somewhere to sleep, eat and wash... the rest is irrelavent... just workspace and heating.. lol
  11. mostly if you have any form of forced induction such as a turbo or a supercharger.. I think that with a normaly aspirated engine that you wont see as many gains unless there are further tuning done to the cars engine... will make it sound a bit deeper though.. I had my pre cats cut out completely and a new section of pipework re-welded into place.. made it sound very raspy and fast!
  12. Ahh old tech.. lol the 901 has a SSD... solid state hard drive so uses less power, doesnt get damaged if dropped.. etc etc.. kind a big flash drive really.. the best bit is that technology is getting cheaper every month.. i think £80 will get you about 32gb now... so wont be long before 120+ will cost in the £100 bracket
  13. Was gonna say the same thing, something really nice.. a spa day with champagne etc.. Cant also go wrong with "hotel chocolat" products.... expensive but excellent gifts
  14. ok mr fargo i bow down to your obviously far superior googling skills.. And in the end im happy, my first ever "decent" workshop.. yes its not a million £ but its all mine and i dont owe anything on it.. I really dont think i would buy anything like that from argos! Either way as was stated before its only a temporary measure for the next year or two.. As for the argos sheds and alike i believe they are aluminium skins rather than steel hence the price difference. That wooden shed looks a good size.. probably would have been a bit warmer too.. But wanted a non flamable workshop for welding in.. again hence the metal structure.. @ Sorted VTI.... Any more progress photos... cant wait to see them as its gonna be an awsome garage.. Are you keeping the floor concrete or painting it? I always wanted one of those poured resin floors.. although they are normaly cost prohibative (£3k+) One thing i was thinking, have you thought about having a look for those small car lifters that you can set into concrete that act as a mini car lift? its like the above picture, but they run the opposite direction and lift off the normal jacking points... but will only rise about 2' off the ground.. enought to do most jobs with ease. We sold a pair of them recently for about £200... if i had the forsight i would have got them for myself but they sold within the day (reconditioned ones) www.ultimategarage.com Love this website as well.. its what dreams are made of
  15. are you using a screwdriver or a 10mm socket? as it will always need the socket
  16. no 90% of the time i run the normal shell 95ron.. and this is what i just put in.. Was just saying that the comparison between shell normal fuel and tesco normal fuel is quite a difference when your car is used to the shell.. This was the maidstone tesco.. went past the detling hill shell and was almost on M20 when i realised that i was on red :( Car does feel good for an oil change though, just in D and foot off the brake it seemed to pull really strong, more than before.. and feels nice n smooth!
  17. i will be getting one in the new year, best my friend has had out of it was 7 hours and 42 mins... we were bored so charged it and put it on a countdown timer! lol So light, screen resolution is awsome.. although invest some money in some 16gb+ SDHC memory cards (now from £16.99) and there are 32gb cards out there for £80.. This will make your memory over double and allow you to move things around quickly
  18. its separated by a X style piece in the cable cover, separating the twisted pairs apart into the 4 compartments.. I think this helps with stopping data crossover and the cost of flexibility...
  19. well all i can say is i now have a full new tank of shell.... and she feels better already.. TC light keeps coming on where as it didnt before with tesco.. Also just did a full oil and filter change to 10w 40 Mobil 1 stuff.. all in all came to about £30 with my trade card for oil and filter :)
  20. Use the Cat6 if you can. Cat5e gigbit doesn't lend itself to the noisy mains environment of a house. It will drop down a renegotiate a lot. There will be loads of crc errors too. It will still be fast mind, just experience has shown me you will lose a lot. I'll see if I can dig out some Fluke reports. Nice one mr geoffers... spoke to a few bods that said i wouldnt need cat6... but it is what i really wanna use.. if the price is right..
  21. Well i had £60 put to the side for the cat5e... would be about a 120 mile round trip too.... Would the drums fit in my GS300?
  22. make sure you have access to an external CD/DVD drive and lots of memory cards though.. for installing software etc
  23. i bought a lost season 1&2 boxset from HK once.. looked perfect.. then.. i put it next to another one and some things were just not exactly right.. Was a damn good fake, but a fake none the less.. even had celophane wrapping and stickers.. holograms were quite good but not perfect.. shows the lengths they will go to get your money
