  1. Did my own double DIN unit today - dead proud as it's the most electrical work I ever had to do. Took me a couple hours, but it's in and all working :) I now have a JVC KW AVX-810 headunit and it's pretty cool... Basically you get one of the cables off the amp (leave the other attached) and connect it to the bypass lead then the bypass lead connects to your new stereo's standard connectors. If I was putting in rear monitors and the like though I would have paid someone to do it too... I'll post a pic of how it looks in the morning, too dark now.
  2. You can use any site, when you want to put the pic up just click the button that reads "Insert image" when you hover the mouse over it, and paste in there the whole url (web address) for your picture on imageshack, photobucket etc.
  3. Usually around the 380-390 mark is when the light comes on for me... Think Ormi's supercharger and Stav's massive turbo have summat to do with their lower mpg than anything else
  4. :D It does, Rory... Think I got mixed up by the mention of the side skirts as they are part of the TRD kit as opposed to the TTE (Aero) kit...
  5. Guys, Jason that does these doesn't drive a Lex any more, so you might not see him about here any more - perhaps the mods might get him direct though. I have my sport dials, so I'm happy anyways :D
  6. Looks good TF! I like the style, always preferred a car to look about as standard as possible with subtle changes to make it look better and that's what you've achieved - 2 thumbs up :D
  7. Those look very good :) Look forward to the pics of the wheels on the car!
  8. I can confirm that, having picked mine up last Wednesday from Ormi's work:
  9. Rear cluster from Lexus costs about £55 - I think. There's a thread in the for sale section, Ellz is selling a set of rear clusters in it. If they've not been bought yet you might get them there?
  10. Petrol, don't expect more than 30mpg at most, insurance will vary wildly wherever you go, so try the usual sites like gocompare, add in directline, avivs (since those two aren't on the comparison sites) and take the best you can get to sky insurance and adrian flux. See if one or other of those can beat it. Some altezza parts will be fine, some won't - bear in mind the engines are different depending on model, but the body parts should be the same in most cases. As for comfort as a daily driver - I've driven nothing better in 14 years of car ownership...
  11. This is the most polite fight I've seen in ages. Pass the popcorn.
  12. Just ordered some :) Course that means I'll likely have to wash the car myself now!
  13. Which bulbs? The speedo etc? Or are you looking change all controls (diff colour for example) or just to replace one that's gone?
  14. Grill/Bumper clip part number is 5211753010 direct from Lexus, cost a couple quid when I bought some last year...
  15. Agreed. Not much use under 40mph though. Do you get a greyish smear/film when you use wipers in light drizzle? Fraid not... The rain just sits speckled on the screen until about 50mph for me, after that the momentum of the car has it streaming off the screen. If I'm staying under 50, then I just swipe the wipers manually once in a while but there's no film left or anything - perhaps you need new wiper blades?
  16. It was quite a hard yank I had to give the bar to get it to come off when I was replacing bulbs a couple months ago. I was worried about breaking it too, but you just have to really go for it :)
  17. Sandwich looks great, what was the filling? Heh looks like a good job done too by the way
  18. Rainex is awesome stuff and means half the time you won't need to use your wipers at all... I was doing 70mph without wipers the other night on the A720 in the rain and the only reason I knew it was raining was I could hear it hitting the car...
  19. Some of those pics are great, especially the ones taken later on in the day :D
  20. You might want to read post number 4 in this very thread... It's the one right above yours.
  21. Had a quick look for you and here are a couple of links to check: RX400H Battery Don't leave lights on
  22. Afraid not, though I seem to remember someone posting up that they had battery problems in their RX. Vague memory at best though - stick flat battery in the search facility and see what results you get - I'm sure someone had this problem and looked into it in a fair bit of detail...
  23. Hi, welcome to the club... If it's under warranty get it back to the dealership to be checked/resolved - ask about a higher capacity battery while you're at it...
  24. Within the snapshot you've taken, use a tool like photoshop or gimp and cut a copy of the M from Temp, the O from Audio, the D from Dual, and the E from Text. A minor bit of resizing and you can create a picture of the word Mode in the appropriate size. Use that as your template, job done :)
