  1. Just sorry for you that you have to lift it manually, life can be so hard :)
  2. I will follow up on this, Brian. Many thanks indeed. Hi Pepe, give this guy a call, he breaks ls400's and is the best ebay seller I've ever dealt with, and a very nice man as well. His name is Kyle 07769355594
  3. This comes up a lot, in fact it came up just a few weeks ago. It seems to be a seasonal thing that affects most cars but doesn't last for more than a couple of weeks, no idea why though. I got into my Vauxhall this morning and the condensation was literally running down onto the dash, but I know in a couple of weeks it won't do it. Very strange.
  4. I did that the other day Just jumped in and went for a drive. It's lovely to drive Girlfriend likes it cos its comfy however hates it because it is boring !!! Your girlfriend isn't Jeremy Clarkson is she? Because he/she thinks it's boring as well.
  5. Well done, all the others are as common as Micra's, well almost. You've got yourself a rare, and in my opinion, beautiful looking car!
  6. I would still have gone to see it. With all the reflections etc from a photo it's hard to get a really good idea of condition, nothing like seeing a car in the metal and rubbing your hands all over it.
  7. Going back that far hows about The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. I still play their albums regularly in the car. Let's face it Mike, we're old, but then again, just think what the young ones have missed. I bet there's not many here that have heard Mick Abrahams playing live in a pub in North London, sitting next to a posh girl from The Ridgeway in Enfield (I wonder what she's doing now, married to a doctor I suppose).....
  8. As the LS also has a cassette player I'm able to listen to an Elmore James tape I bought for 99p As we're owning up and not being embarrassed about our taste, I've just got into the American band Sixpence None the Richer. Not the chart stuff they've put out, but album songs. Highly underrated in this country, just as All about Eve were in the eighties. I've also treated the Lexus sound system to Blodwyn Pig!
  9. I have to say, if I was in the market I would have gone to see this one at least. No record of a cam belt change etc could mean getting it for less than 2K, especially as it says ovno. I didn't want to marry the guy who sold me mine, but nearly 10,000 miles later I'm glad I made the effort to drive from Sussex to Birmingham to see it. Plus I love the colour combination of the body and leather.
  10. 99k! Its not even run in No, the year is 99. Now it's done 103K so it's almost at the end of its life, woe is me!
  11. Hi Hugh, welcome to LOC. I agree with the comment, that as the last of these cars were made in 2000, it may be hard to find what you're looking for, especially a mint one with low mileage. I bought mine in September last year with 94K which I consider low for the year (99) so I guess it depends on what you consider low. Phil
  12. Well mine came with the car so I'll keep it, and probably transfer it when I next change, simply because it will always be worth something to someone, even though it's only about £400. Personally, I wouldn't choose to buy one, and my wife really gets wound up over them!
  13. mine works fine it would get you where you want to go just a bit long winded to set up,i tested it on known routes, its been ok but some places i go to don't exist on there but.back in 1998 it must of been a magnificent piece of kit What I find with the Lexus sat nav is that instructions when leaving motorways for instance give me more info than my TomTom. Shame it can't be brought right up to date.
  14. Interesting reading the comments on the sat nav. I have to say, in the year plus that I've had this car the sat nav has been excellent. I can only assume the previous owner updated it. Obviously it can't accept post codes, but that aside I find it really good.
  15. Excellent. There is an old Top Gear video on YouTube showing the same thing with the Jag Merc and BMW. Lexus comes out on top of course. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Y-Gdz6N-dU
  16. It'll teach me to behave in the future....I think. My mate has an Audi which really grips the road, but feels like its constantly driving over a cattle grid, so I'll stick with my slippery rear end and smooth ride.
  17. 181000 with full service history Still young then! I noticed when the dealer had it up for sale he never once put the mileage on the listing, that always really annoys me.
