  1. if you compare a photo using genuine ink and non-OEM you can see a difference but for normal use they are fine, although I would stay away from refils.
  2. did you check the gaps on the new plugs? Maybe one or more of them didn't have the correct gap. Why did you go for a colder plug? Do you have mods?
  3. They all do that a little bit due to the small capacity battery fitted as standard however it does sound like your battery needs replacing. If it's the original battery then I would certainly get a new one.
  4. How old was the LS400? They used to has separate alarms/immobilisers which like any third party alarm can be bypassed. All new Lexus vehicles (from 1998 onwards) have immobilisers built into the engine ECU, you cannot bypass them and it is also difficult to defeat them. The LS430 is continually voted the most secure vehicle in the UK.
  5. It has a diagnostic socket but it isn't ODB-II compliant. They use the standard connector because OBD-II is used on export vehicles (e.g. IS200) so use the same part. OBD-II isn't a requirement in Japan, unlike the US and Europe. As the 4 cylinder engine in the RS200 isn't exported there was no reason for Toyota to rework the ECU to be ODB-II compliant.
  6. change the fluid and make sure Toyota T-IV fluid is used is recommended although it sounds like the fluid is draining out of the torque convertor when stationary. How are you checking the fluid level? The vehicle should be driven for at least 15 minutes, move the selector through all positions slowly and back to Park and then check the level, whilst the engine is running.
  7. They look real, Philips BlueVision Xenon bulbs.
  8. SE's also have the Adaptive Front Lightning. don't think they did in the first year. Also has the SE always had the power tail-lift?
  9. it's easier on the IS, well at least no more difficult.
  10. did they tell you what the error code was? Make sure the petrol cap it tight - you should hear 2 or 3 clicks to know it's tight enough.
  11. Raz I suggest you read the forums T&C. Putting ***s in the middle of words to deceive our profanity filter is against the rules.
  12. Exhaust should last 10 years+, most dealers have never changed one on an LS unless it has been physically damaged.
  13. Welcome to LOC I would recommend you post your question on the US forums, the RX 300 didn't appear in the UK until 2001 and the climate operation may be different between the US and the UK. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/
  14. Yes I meant on the series II. lexvirgin didn't state which unfortunately.
  15. I should have said GB rather than UK. Lexus GB vehicles are 10k intervals, I guess NI are under the control of Lexus Ireland?
  16. I noticed mine was at minimum the other day, not had time to look into it further but I will start with the radiator cap and look for any leaks around the engine bay.
  17. 802.11g is only 54Mbps, there is no 108 standard yet. 802.11n will be out next year which will be high speed (something like 100 - 300 Mbps). Although 802.11g is 54Mbps the actual throughput is around 22Mbps so your 108 connection may give around 44Mbps in real life. Your download speed of only 100Kbps doesn't sound right. Although the wireless connection will add a little latency you shouldn't really see a differnce with Broadband speeds. I get around 200Kbps download speed using either my 54Mbps wireless or a 100Mbps fixed connection. Possibly you have interference from other wireless devices, try changing the channnels being used.
  18. they should just fix the bugs in the software rather than keep messing with the user interface (poor though it is).
  19. service intervals vary country to country. In the UK the interval is every 10k miles, intermediate then full cycle.
