  1. are you saying it won't come out of 1st or you just cannot get it into 2nd?
  2. good luck :) Not sure if you will have to drop the engine or not, it's very difficult to get to the rear half of the engine.
  3. it's located to the right of the spare wheel bay in the boot. I cannot remember if you need to remove some trim.
  4. the whole exhaust is slightly different on the series II however the cats are mainly in the same place. The precats are on the exhaust manifold and the main cat is on the downpipe/first section, just under the vehicle slightly back from the engine bay. The system won't let me upload a file so PM me if you need a diagram and I can email it to you.
  5. does it come from both speakers? Sounds like you have damaged the speakers.
  6. Dealers will offer poor trade in on yellow as they will say it restricts the number of people interested in it. Then when they sell they will over price the vehicle and justify this to potential buyers because it's a rare colour.
  7. you would need very high temperature paint if you wanted to paint the back of the pads.
  8. So the IS200 is superior? :D , no. The MAF sensor gives slightly inaccurate air readings when dirty, the MAP sensor does it all the time :winky:
  9. it does sound like air in the coolant rather than the aircon. It get it in my vehicle since the coolant was changed at the last service
  10. have a look on ebay, they come up now and again.
  11. there are procedures to turn off an airbag warning light. You also get the same issue if you disconnect things in the wrong order etc. Here is an example for a Supra which probably would work on a series I GS http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/airbag_light/airbag.htm What GS do you have?
  12. disconnect each connector and check for water, spray in a little WD-40
  13. There isn't an option to do this from your dealer. Disconnecting it isn't recommended as you will produce error codes/warning lights. Toyota never allowed you to disable the airbag in the past for safety reasons - people forget to turn it back on again and there is always the remote possibility of the airbag deploying even if it is disabled, however they do allow you to disable it on newer vehicles so their view must have changed.
  14. There are plenty of people who wouldn't purchase a vehicle without full dealer history and the resale value will be reduced. However as you aren't planning to sell for a few years the savings in servicing costs will probably more than offset the drop in re-sale value.
  15. this really doesn't give you much information but you can check the last owner change is correct: http://www.rac.co.uk/web/carbuying/vehicle_data_search/
  16. I don't think they are different for 1999-2000 models but you would probably have to ask your dealer to check the part numbers to confirm. The 2003+ models are different to the standard models.
  17. They can be new units for the newer style or refurbished ones.
  18. A colour code should be a specific colour. I would check with your dealer not a third party.
  19. you can chip it but costs alot of money for little benefit unless you are changing the exhaust and intake and wish to make the most of them. The GS should be smooth anyway, a chip won't improve that.
  20. Thanks but I cnnot work out what will work and lexus wont tell me Original part no. 08664-00920 year2000 v1 Lexus want to sell 08927-50882 year 2006 On ebay 86271-64011 year 2004-2005 v1 Can anyone help I would like to buy from ebay but will it work in 2000 rx300 ?? there are two or three different parts numbers, two on the disc and maybe a different one on the box. You need to compare the same number and they should be very similar. e.g. 08664-00920 and 08664-00923 (increments by 1 for every new release) If the numbers are completly different the disc may well be for a different generation of the nav unit and would probably be incompatible.
