  1. I don't believe there are any convertor cables available for the IS/Altezza.
  2. The GS300 doesn't really have the power to spin the wheels that much :P
  3. Potenza what? Pontenza is a range of tyre. Some of the range are complete rubbish like to RE030 fitted as standard to the GS range. I guess you mean the top of the range S-03? They are good but having had both the S-O3 and Eagle F1 I think the Goodyears have the edge and the reviews on tirerack seem to suggest many others feel the same way.
  4. You need to use a blow torch but you should be careful not to get it too hot or to damage the wiring. Do a google search you should find some suggestions.
  5. Are you sure it is a Toyota option? I think it is an aftermarket mod. You would have to run a wire up from the side repeater into the door and then into the mirror. I don't think a dealership would do that. Warranty is only a problem if they can prove the work done has caused the fault.
  6. cambelt depends on age. 1998 models have a 9k mile service schedule and a 63k cambelt change. 1999+ have a 10k mile service schedule and 100k cambelt change. Nav is an option on both the SE and sport
  7. It isn't a common problem but the throttle body, MAF sensor, idle control valve and TPS should be checked/cleaned/adjusted every now and then to maintain optimum operation.
  8. I take it you removed and cleaned up the slider pins?
  9. A MAP sensor is not affected by dirt in the same way a 'hot-wire' MAF sensor does so no need to clean it
  10. Only the 200s, although it can never hurt to check the condition of the belt now and then on any engine.
  11. That is the throttle position sensor and something that can indeed cause poor idling.
  12. There won't be an "S" because Lexus stopped using that 4 years ago. There will be the IS250, IS250 SE and IS250 SE-L
  13. Maybe lexus should revise the 100k interval ? ← Possibly but the belt will last 100k if it isn't allowed to move. Hopefully Lexus dealers are checking the belt condition earlier because they should be aware of this problem.
  14. You need three wires or the extension will not ring out, yours work cos you wired them all. You can use 2 wires if you're stuck but you need a master socket on the extension with a ring cap. ← If you have DSL and are using filters on each of the sockets then you can get away with only two wires because the filters have a ring capacitor built-in. In fact the DSL signal will be improved if the RING wire is disconnected.
  15. you are not meant to adjust the idle speed. The ECU should take care of it. Sometimes you need to let it idle for a period of time for it to adjust. If it doesn't then there is another problem like a dirty MAF sensor, throttle body or idle control valve.
  16. Have a look at this thread, half way down Guy has posted the procedures: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...hl=error++codes
  17. It's not difficult to be better than BMI! You will always find somebody who doesn't like an airline. A friend of mine recently flew with Air France and would never fly them again.
  18. 75k is fine. Just check ball joints etc. for wear as they can go from 60k upwards. Cambelt is due @ 100k miles.
  19. Same as me. We mainly flew Business Class, got down graded a few times but also upgraded to 1st class :)
  20. Maybe part of the fuel usage on the Turbo is due to air/fuel ratios being set up correctly with an ECU rather that the standard Toyota run it rich settings?
