  1. They cannot be replaced without removing the hub assembly as far as I know. Not worth the hassle, a lot of people end up just cutting them off if they fit bigger brakes. Although I opted to modify mine to keep the air scoop.
  2. How much were they for a full set? As I don't think you can buy them in pairs and I don't need the rears because I have a TTE rear lip.
  3. If I can get that much for them I might have to hurry up and find some 17s so I can sell my Aeros. lol
  4. Bump, could really do with these soon as my car is getting filthy without the sideskirts :( Are they still available from Toyota/Lexus?
  5. Yes the USDM version does have a deeper rear bumper, which is why if you ever buy an IS300 exhaust that has come from the states (like I did) then you will notice that it sticks out past the bumper about an inch. You also have to be careful if you want to fit rear lips that have come from the states too.
  6. I got given this watch for free by my boss when I got the car as he thought he recognised the instrument cluster... Ended up selling it on eBay for £100 to a guy in Malaysia!
  7. I think they seem to be getting cheaper because as has already been said, they just last so long that whereas another make of car would be on the scrap heap by now, the IS200 is still going strong so there are a lot of high mileage or just old models going for very cheap. But the lower mileage ones don't seem too be doing too badly, although they are dropping too because they just aren't an economical car.
  8. Before you get too worried, take the negative terminal off the battery for 30 seconds to reset the ecu. This will get rid of any old errors/flashing lights for things that may not be a problem anymore
  9. I would expect it's because the IS200 is rear wheel drive, and the 307 is front wheel drive they behave differently
  10. I think you are probably just imagining problems that aren't there. Wet drain covers will be slippy in the wet, so the wheel that goes over it probably loses a bit of traction and gives a weird feeling through the steering.
  11. when the traction control is on there should be no lights, but when the wheels slip the picture of the car slipping appears on the dash. But if the traction control is turned off it shows 'trc off' on the dash, but if the wheels spin the skidding car does not appear.
  12. I already had the Greddy Ti-C cat back, and was looking for an OEM exhaust so i could put it back to stock. All done now though, thread can be closed.
  13. Looking for a pair of front mudguards, I need something to put on my IS200 now the skirts are gone. I only need the front ones, and they need to be in good condition i.e. no broken mounting holes.
  14. Can't the deadlocks be deactivated with the key? So if the battery goes flat, you can still physically unlock the drivers door with the key, unlocking both the deadlock and regular lock on that door? Or does it need battery power to disengage the deadlocks? Also, are you sure the double press disables the alarm? Because I double press mine all the time, but the alarm light still flashes inside? Nope, the deadlocks aren't physically connected to the key holes at all so they can't be fiddled with. They are totally electronic and can only be controlled with the buttons on the key. I'm not 100% sure on the alarm disengaging, but I thought the little red light was for the immobiliser anyway? Or maybe it's different on some cars.
  15. 1. As above, no memory function but fully electric and heated. 2. I wouldn't bother with that for the hassle it would take, and I'm not even sure it would be possible. 3. Yes, some versions of the IS200 came with HIDs as standard, they still use a reflector in the light unit, not a projector. But the reflector is angled differently to provide a more flat cutoff for the HIDs. They also have the ballast moulded into the bottom of the headlight unit. 4. The boot can be opened independently with the button on the key. When locking the car, the first press of the button will lock the doors and set the alarm. But if you press it again within about 5 seconds, it will disable the alarm and engage a set of deadlocks which cannot be tampered with from either inside or outside the car. So beware, because if your battery goes flat and the car is deadlocked...you're not getting in easily. lol So just bear that in mind if you ever leave the car sat while you're on holiday or something.
  16. 2001 - 2005 IS300 Definitive Changes List <<< Click
  17. I put it down as IS300 and nothing else follows after that but guess what that brings my insurance down because they dont know its a Compact Sport car which has a Supra engine and once you drive one you forget it only has 210bhp :D so i save money on insurance because Lexus did not make it obvious but can have fun just like an S Line Audi driver whos paying more on thier insurance just because it has been made obvious by Audi as a Sport model :D cool huh ... I'm sure after 13 years of it being on the roads the insurance companies are well aware of what it has under the bonnet. lol
  18. I think the discussion on LSDs has run it's course...lol The fact is, a Sport model is different from a sporty model. The difference being is whether a car is sporty or not is down to the personal opinion of the driver. However unless stated on the V5 or by Lexus, no car that isn't officially designated so, is actually a Sport regardless of the installed trim level. What do you put it down as when you insure it? Because if you put 'IS300 Sport' then they could invalidate your insurance because you've provided false information.
  19. The IS200 Sport came with an LSD, but it is not the only version of the IS200 which came with one. The same applies for the IS300. However unlike a conventional LSD, the Torsen LSD as fitted in the IS200/IS300 does not mean both wheels spin the same direction when you turn them by hand. Because the gearing in the Torsen LSD only works correctly when it's under load (acceleration during driving) it will not show signs on being an LSD when in the air. Also make sure you never get your back brakes dyno tested with a Torsen LSD as they don't like having negative forces put on them. There is a chassis code designation on all the cars with an LSD fitted, but I can't remember what it is, try the search feature and you might find it somewhere.
  20. I said literally those exact words yesterday when talking about the IS250 styling! lol I'm looking at upgrading to an IS250 soon, and I can't help but think the IS200 is still the better looking car after all these years. If it was a choice of both cars with zero miles, it would probably be the IS200 again. But they are all getting on a bit age and mileage wise :(
  21. If the headlight lenses are looking a little misty there is a really good thread on here somewhere which shows you how to get them looking good as new. And if you can't find the thread it's not a hard process, you just clean them with a claybar, wet sand them with very fine grade paper and then polish them. You'll be amazed at the difference it can make, and at a fraction of the cost of new units :)
  22. Thank you very much for that, very helpful :) I don't think my budget will stretch to a MY2011+ model, so I'll have to find myself a pre-MY2009 model and probably end up fitting the GFX kit myself at a later date, as that will make finding a model with a spec/interior I like much easier. Thanks again for some very useful posts!
  23. Goodness this is getting confusing now...lol Sorry when I said wider front bumper I meant with the F-Sport corner spoilers fitted. Right so from what I understand, and forgive me if I'm wrong as 1st gen IS's are more my area of expertise. :) F-Sport addons can only be fitted to 2011+ models The 2009post-facelift - 2011pre-facelift models are a sort of no man's land? And the GFX kit will only fit 2006 - 2009pre-facelift models (basically up until the SR stopped being made?)
