  1. Yep they are all exactly the same as far as I know. The only difference is that the sport models had a stainless steel tip.
  2. I certainly wouldn't buy new ones as the same thing will happen to them too. All you need is a clay bar and a bit of polish and elbow grease. 'Search' is your friend... http://www.lexusowne...=1
  3. Really you're probably looking at a couple of hundred because of the number of characters, and that still relies on the potential buyer having a Lexus. £80 registration fee has to be taken into account too. I've been looking for a short number plate for my new bumper actually as the cutout for the plate is for a Jap spec one, but I want to just put a short oblong (which either requires an illegal font size...or less characters) in the recess instead. So I might be interested...
  4. Right, finally managed to do some more work on the bumper as it's being sprayed soon. I haven't worked with carbon since college but I think it went okay. If I could do it again however, I wouldn't have bothered going for the pre-preg cloth, as it kept trying to unstick itself on the inside edges because it didn't like being folded back on itself. Here's a few pictures I took along the way. First job was to removed the lip along the back edge of the centre bar, I used VERY course sandpaper for this as the final finish wasn't important at this stage... And now with the lip removed... Black resin basecoat applied, had to leave this for about 4-5 hours to go tacky before applying the cloth... Carbon cloth laid in place before I started pressing it into place... And after the first coat of resin top coat... Going to go back into work tomorrow to make sure it hasen't destroyed itself over night, and give it a quick sand and a 2nd coat of resin before I polish it up. :)
  5. It would involve a fair bit of cabling, but you could splice them into the interior light circuit so they come on with that? Although they would go off again after the same delay and not stay on for ages.
  6. There was a picture posted up of an IS200 with very similar Merc wheels before, and it was a bit of a marmite respone. lol Some hated it, some loved it, but it's your car at the end of the day :) As far as fitment, the rears will be fine. The fronts will fit, but will be tight. Not sure on lowering though.
  7. possibly because the Sport is lower and doesn't have enough room between the tyres and arches to take into account for the sag while towing? Can't think what else it would be.
  8. So basically it's someone joining the Lexus Owners Club to advertise their own Lexus site...
  9. I'm actually in need of a windscreen replacement soon too, my crack just happened out of nowhere because of the heaters on an icy day. But I've been putting it off until just before the MOT in a couple of months so the weather is better just in case it does leak. Are you not fully comp? Because Admiral will supply and fit a new windscreen for £90 on my policy. Although I imagine that would be a Pilkington one, however I am going to insist they fit an OEM Lexus window, after all I have insured a Lexus, so I expect them to fix it with Lexus parts.
  10. I've got a TTE bumper for sale here if you're interested? http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=75148&st=0&p=767379entry767379
  11. Yep, self adjusting as Ormi said as far as I'm aware. The service manual only says to inspect the clearance (can't remember the interval) but not to adjust them.
  12. Also lots of people who feel the need to leave sarcastic comments on 6 month old posts too by the look of it...
  13. That's what I thought too I think there's a difference between 'clean and slammed' and 'VIP'. VIP means not cutting any corners, expensive parts everywhere, curtains, tints, probably air suspension etc. As you said, getting proper VIP parts into the UK is mega expensive which is why people don't normally do a proper VIP, they just lower it on wide rims and tidy up the interior/exterior. Good work so far though.
  14. I've been looking on eBay for them, you can get them from the US pre-JDM'd (black inside) for good money. And the IS300 doesn't use orange plastic in any of the pictures I've seen, just orange bulbs.
  15. Trust Lexus to be different, wonky locking rings, positive and negative on the lights wired opposite to the norm, whatever next. lol I've been considering getting a set of lights off an IS300 (because they had HIDs from factory) Although it requires some small modification to the fender I think, but nothing visible. That way I keep the OEM look and get a flat beam pattern :)
  16. I'd check that the alignment is okay before you spend any more money. Even HIDs won't make a difference if they are pointing straight at the ground. Also I'd steer clear of the anti-glare bulbs. Because Lexus attach the locking ring for the bulbs about 1/4 turn different to most manufacturers so instead of cutting off the light going upwards, they block out the light going sideways so you just end up with a strange square shape of light in the road which doesn't illuminate anything to the sides. I sent mine back and got them to replace them with normal bulbs which are fine.
  17. If the lights are brand new and they are still rubbish I'd say there's something wrong with your car. I've got HID's now, but I could see fine with the standard 60w halogen bulbs. My guess would be maybe your car has had a bump somewhere along the line and put the light mounts a long way out of line. Take it to a garage and get them to check the alignment before you spend any more money on it.
  18. The sounds is fantastic, but I just don't think it suits a standard looking LS400.
  19. I've never seen an OEM steering wheel in carbon fibre. And they all come with airbags as standard. They are all leather, the only difference is the colour I think.
  20. You've got two options with OEM styling kits. There's the TRD lip, which just stick onto the bottom edge of the OEM bumper... Or there is the TTE bumper, which is a whole new replacement bumper...
  21. I think that's a very important point actually... Because if your computer controlled car senses a crash and makes a 20 milisecond decision to brake to save you. You're still gunna get hit from behind by the guy who's still only got human reactions on his side.
  22. Here's mine in white. Make sure you use SMDs not LED, as they give much better light spread. And it's about a 20 minute mod, just 6 very easy to find screws and then twist out the bulb holders
  23. I've never had a service that includes a diagnostic check unless you specifically request it. The mistake you made was 'assuming' Lexus would do it inclusive, when all you asked for was a thorough check. They are mechanics not mind readers.
