  1. I fitted a 7" touchscreen in my nav housing, althoug I've since sold it. Not particularly hard to do, you'll need a power feed, video out, and USB lead. What would you be connecting the screen to?
  2. Just any normal spray paint from Halfords will do. Rub down with wet and dry, primer, then paint. Simples :) And the mistake a lot of people make when doing this is trying to re-seal the lights with the old glue. While it's still soft, scrape out all the old sealant. And then apply a new bead around the edge before you put them back together. Make sure it's one that cures hard though. As normal silicone sealant will stay soft and rubbery and just won't work.
  3. I'll be changing my bumper soon, and the new one doesn't take the normal foglights. Do you know which version you have? The newer ones were H3 bulbs and the older ones were HB3/HB4 I think.
  4. On the newer cars they have to dim when the sidelights are turned on, as the newer LED DRLs are much brighter than the sidelights and would dazzle people at night. But unless you have very bright DRLs it would probably be fine to leave them on.
  5. Have you actually taken the dashboard out to check this or are you just guessing?
  6. As above, buying a car without even driving it is pretty silly. If there is actually something wrong with the suspension, I don't think a fault code would show up unless it was electronic. What you should have done was asked them to check the suspension if you know there's something wrong with it. And again as above, if you thought there was a problem surely taking it back to get it checked before the warranty period ran out would have been top priority?
  7. That's the same product I ended up at when I was researching piggybacking mine. I've been told that it can actually be wired up to control the VVTi as well, so it does all the air to fuel, ignition timings and VVTi too. So it's the equivalent of having a piggy back and a CamCon at the same time. Although they haven't tried it, they contacted UniChip who said it could be done. But I decided to wait before trying it untill I had my induction kit and exhaust fitted, which I have now done, so I might look into it again.
  8. I take it you mean the midpipe? The one that connects to the backbox? One box is a silencer and the other is a CAT, so don't throw it away as it will be worth a few quid in scrap. But also bear that in mind when looking for a new one as they may not be cheap, on the other hand the seller may not realise there's a CAT in there and give it to you for a bargain price
  9. Yes that will require a set of ballasts for each pair of lights. So 6 in total for his setup. And you can get them in most colours on the light spectrum, yellow, white, blue, pink, purple..take your pick. If you want to be really funky (for show use only) you can get them in ultra violet I think, so you can make anything white in a 200m area infront of you turn purple :o
  10. They can be piggybacked yes, although the results are still not massive. I know some of the american IS300 guys who have used the SRT chip that comes with the SRT induction kit have to wire the ECU relay so it resets itself every time the engine goes off to stop it tuning out the map of the chip.
  11. All that is, is a variable resistor in a box that give a false reading to the IAT (inlet air temperature) sensor. There is no way it will give you an extra 40hp on an IS200. lol
  12. As the guys above have said, I'd be sceptical about whether this is possible. Although I'm sure I read somewhere that it's not that the IS200 ecu 'can't be re-mapped' its just that because it's an intelligent system it will just learn new paramaters back over the top of the tune so it will 'wear off' the more you drive. Would be interested to get a dyno done right after remap, and then another one in a couple of weeks.
  13. Both links are working fine for me. Have you tried your local scrappy?
  14. The other bits will probably be hard to sell, and if you do they won't be worth much. But just the motorised housing on it's own can sometimes sell for over £150 so you got a fantastic deal even if you just throw the other bits away! :)
  15. Cheers guys :) Replied to your PM nizan. And definitely have a go Jeza, it's pretty easy to do. And if all else fails I can always make you one :)
  16. I guess it might be okay if you were putting the old springs on a new damper, but you shouldn't really change just one spring as they don't all settle the same amount. Just realised something aswell, I have the sport model so my suspension is 15mm lower than standard. And I don't think your model has the lower suspension?
  17. If you definitely want them I'll see if I can get mine booked in for the suspension change on saturday, £70 for the pair including the springs? So it's just take off the old ones, bolt these on. Will save you money on labour time as they wont have to mess about changing springs. And I can't comment on the reliability of non-branded shocks, could be made by anyone.
  18. Lots of places miss out a decimal place on mileage to bump their adverts up the listing unfortunately.
  19. I doubt very much that it is actually a genuine Lexus part. And you should always replace left and right components on the same axle when changing suspension parts or it will make it unbalanced. I would offer you my factory shocks with 40K on them, but mine are still on the car until I fit my coilovers and I take it you need to change them pretty soon for the MOT?
  20. Honestly, the only different is probably the colour. Won't make any different to performance whichever one you go for. :)
  21. Very slightly better economy, and a bit more engine grunt after 3K RPM that's about it.
  22. I'm from near Oxford, but it would be easier (and probably cheaper) for me to just post it out to you if you want it.
  23. Just had a look at the one I've got sat here and you are correct. I never realised that! So you'll still need to find a new cap Jimjam, but I've got a spare actuator sat here.
  24. Just so you know, that picture in the first post is of my wheels after they were refurbed earlier in the year, and it's not a standard finish. I asked them to use satin lacquer as I thought the glossy silver looked cheap. They even said they could diamond cut the entire face of the sport rims...which would certainly make them rare.
  25. If they snapped the top off the actuator you'll probably need a whole new one, and Lexus will charge you a fortune. They still go for about £60 even second hand! I've got a headlight washer unit left over from when I changed my bumper ages ago, not sure which side it is though, so I'll double check and let you know.
