  1. How did they take it off? I guess steamer might be safest. The dirt line on the IS is very prominent due to motorway tyre shine sling from valeters!
  2. seen that one but no one has actually mentioned how they did remove them.......if they did at all........
  3. OK listen carefully - Ivory seats get grubby but you won't know how bad they actually are until you clean them with some strong stuff. Get yourself the dodo juice leather kit or Dr Leather Advanced Cleaner - they've beaten everything in the comparisons I have done. Their performance is the same but sometimes dodo juice is hard to get hold of but is better value for money. Now - you can clean the leather and just leave it - modern leather has a protective coating on top which doesnt need conditioning - a conditioner will make the seat softer but will attract more dirt. You want a sealant - like the one in Dodo Juice leather kit which protects the leather, not conditions it. Gliptone is only good for periodic cleaning ie every 3 months or so. Dodo juice can do this too but you can leave it atleast 6 months before doing it again as they wont get as dirty or will wipe off with a damp cloth due to the sealant
  4. As per title, has anyone removed it? Its got black dust underneath it and looks like a massive scratch! Not to mention, its slightly yellow :O Anyone managed to remove it and got any stone-chips there at all? If so, what did you use - hairdryer, steamer or heat gun? Thanks
  5. Kind words Dean! Hmm, Ill be honest though, although I like that the paint is white to a point where it makes other cars look yellow or blue (take note Audi - Glacier white is blue, not white), I don't think it looks as nice overall as the Arctic Pearl or Sonic White!
  6. Orders are being taken in October so I think they'll release the price on, or soon after the 15th of September
  7. RX 450h has been improved in almost every way. Quality of the interior, quality of the exterior panels, gadgets etc. Sound deadening is superior to the 400h and it handles better. The 400h is more comfortable with serious waft ability but rolls around in corners. The 450h has a better balance imo. Both should be reliable but the 450h would be more so, mostly because it's younger so less chance of perishable items going eg bushings
  8. But Lexus pricing seems to be based on performance for the NX. Example - NX200T is faster and costs more. RX200t will be slower than the 450h so should be cheaper. A £40k RX would most likely be an SE version with higher grades being more expensive but itd be a good way to take sales. If you think logically, an RX200T would make zero sense at an equivalent or higher price to the 450h. It'll be slower and will guzzle more fuel and have greater road tax so putting a premium on it would mean no sales whatsoever. With the proposed pricing, private buyers who don't drive much may opt for the 200t to save some cash from the beginning
  9. Although to be fair Lexus Scotland said the RC 300H has exhaust tips lol. I've never seen a Lexus hybrid with visible exhausts!
  10. Essentially this is how it should go and has been for me:1) car taken off truck 2) stickers and plastic taken off and transport wax removed 3) full inspection carried out 4) fit wheel centre caps, wheel locks etc etc 5) PDI - valet and whatever else. Should be checked after valet and before being given to the customer by salesman You can reject the car. They either have to replace the car or fix the issues
  11. Yes it is. Worth noting that the F sport NX is close but RX200T is most likely SE spec at £40k with F Sport probably about £47k. The 450h is starting at £45k so that will be the SE too and F Sport is £53k according to them. I doubt they'd give a dodgy price. Any chance the £70k Leeds price is an extended wheelbase version that Japan is getting?
  12. Lexus dealers are the best in the UK though. Go to another dealer if you're so unhappy with the current one.
  13. I guess it all depends on the dealers you use - everytime I have got my car its flawless - no new scratches or marks on the interior etc. If its some irreparable damage, id be asking for a new car though
  14. Not too sure - for a company with almost a century of heritage Jaguar is still lacking. Lexus is just over 25 years old so they're doing pretty well, all things considering. Jaguar works out quite expensive, I specified an XE R Sport and it was about the same as the IS. However, when you consider the Jag is petrol only, and the IS is a hybrid which costs more to produce and has a better quality interior, it makes sense. As the for NX spec options, they are odd but Lexus seems to add different options and trims each year which I think the NX will probably get. For example, the RX F-Sport was available with only black interior in 2012, in 2013 they added the red interior option as well as the Advance model and TPMS became standard fit so I think the NX may get that sort of treatment too. £35k would be for a base model though, the top of the range model will be atleast £45k with the high performance engine being £50k+
  15. Apples to oranges mate. F Pace is considerably smaller than the new RX. It's about the same size as NX and it'll be starting at £35 - £39k so it'll be more expensive than the NX when loaded. If its coming with the same quality of cabin as the XE (which it seems to be from the spyshots), I wouldn't consider it as the NX cabin quality is very good in comparison. Besides, Jaguar's should be cheaper - no import duties or anything like that for them JLR still have issues which is off-putting. I have a friend with an Evoque, literally said he regretted it, not because of the drive or anything like that but the fact that it always had things going wrong with it. The good thing is, he sold it for only £3k less than he paid for it after 2 years. Anyways - another one:
  16. Sheesh that's seriously bad. The one I got is 2 years old and doesn't have that sort of stuff
  17. If you put postcode in, it should come up with a page to put a house number in if applicable
  18. Yup new RX is on the list but will have to see it first! I like the look but depends on the spec and of course pricing is an issue! I've told her to park it a foot away from the kerb lol. Luckily she doesn't park on roads, mostly in supermarket car parks (she takes my car sometimes - I dread it but it hasnt been dinged yet!) so not many kerbs to be afraid of!
  19. So here are the photos! There are some light scratches and swirls Ive noticed so will need to give it a good polish once I get the time! You'll have to click on the pictures to see them properly as some of the edges are cut off in the thumbnails
  20. I set off at 3:45pm and got there at 6pm. Only 70 miles too! I'm going to have a play with the settings after washing the RX lol
  21. So I collected the IS300h F-Sport yesterday! Its 2 years old, being an early 63 plate but only has 10k miles on it! Its from Lexus Chester who made the whole experience very painless so hats off to them. The worst part of the experience was actually traveling to collect - it took 2 hours just to get to Chester and it was only 70 miles away - M62 is so 5hite! On the way back the car took us straight through Warrington - no idea why, bit of an awkward nav system compared to the RX450h but Ill play with the settings and see what I can do. Ill post pics later on today! Just one question though - is there a way to get the indicator beeps to become louder? They're so quiet that sometimes I can't tell that they're on - not to mention the indicator stalk (different from the RX450h) which I'm still getting used to.
  22. They also just said the RX450H F Sport will be £52995 after a conference on Friday. The current RX is £500 less for every model and of course the RX200T doesn't exist for the current generation. £52995 would certaonly be impressive - regardless, I think I'll grab a demo in 3-6 months. First ones are coming in January according to them
  23. Hmm ok so Lexus Scotland have just told me the price of an RX200t is £39995 and RX450H starts at £44995!!!!?!?! They answered my post on Facebook. Everyone van see it so I highly doubt theyre making figures up Lee that's good advice actually. Just grabbed a 2 year old IS300H F Sport with 10k miles on it in White with Red leather and premium nav for £24k!!! Lmao that cost someone nearly £40k when it came out
  24. My dealer has sealed lips on the price - I said Im not paying anything over £60k for an F SportI'd be surprised if it's in high demand. Most people can't afford £70k outright or £900 a month payments. Guess we will have to see if they release the price officially on 15th September lol You don't see many £70k cars on the road at all The LS is £75k and they're having to give £10k discounts just to sell any lol
