  1. NX Premier registered March 2015 should have a value of approx £32-35k trade in atm dependent on condition, that's what I've been told anyway. My RX with ML and tracker is 3 years old, only worth £26k - nearly 50% hit LMAO should have got an F-Type
  2. Just my views lol - Id get fired if I was a salesmen - id be claiming the spec sheet for the NX is all wrong and that the CT stinks ha!
  3. I just realised how much I hate the front end on the Luxury and Premier versions and also how much I like those wheels - Ah well, F-Sport for me.
  4. I had similiar views to you before my wife got the IS300h and I drove it back on the motorway from Chester. First of all, I think the IS250 is a smooth engine and refined with the 6 speed gearbox, however, there isn't much between the IS250 and IS300h in terms of smoothness. In fact, it is easily arguable that the IS300h is smoother due to the CVT which doesn't shift at all - the IS250 6 speed can get hesitant when asking too much of it. I would also say that refinement of the IS250 is less than the IS300h and that is simply down to the electric drivetrain - completely silent when driving along at low speeds in town unless you brake, but even then, its not obtrusive and it almost sounds like you're going to the future. In terms of repairs, the IS250 actually costs MORE to service due to extra cylinders and some other stuff. Lexus Bradford quoted me £990 for 3 IS250 services and £750 for 3 IS300h services (both were 20,30 and 40k services). Essentially its £240 over 3 years which isn't much but even if you drive 5k miles a year at the claimed MPG figures, it would make a £200 difference in petrol costs and a further £215 cost in tax annually. Therefore over 3 years you lose £1485 and 5k miles a year is very low! Not to mention, the IS300h holds value much better for a few reasons. Firstly, its being replaced by the IS200t and when a new model comes out, a car will always lose value as its no longer desirable. Furthermore, the running costs puts it out of reach for people who drive even 10k miles a year and as a rule, its not as desirable as the IS300h in the current times. I wouldn't worry about reliability, Lexus hybrids are insanely reliable, may even be more so than the IS250 which has carbon build up problems. One odd thing I found was that insurance price is more expensive for the IS250. I was rather concerned as there's hardly any difference in claimed power output and 0-62mph times and phoned the insurance company who stated it was down to the car having a V6 and being "rare". Take that how you will but I thought it was just a way of making money personally. In terms of driving, the IS250 is good but i'd say its the IS300h which wins and that's simply because of the instant torque. The IS250 IMO is weedy, the torque is too low and you have to rev its guts out to get it to shift anywhere (causes it to actually become less refined than the IS300h as it ends up being quite loud ALL of the time when you do that and fuel economy goes to about 18mpg). In contrast, the IS300h has plenty of instant torque to get it moving and mid range power is immense (the quoted 0-62mph times dont show this). It genuinely gob-smacks people with faster cars (Audi A5 3.0l TDI and Merc C250 CDI). I would also say that the IS300h is a better balanced car. Although it has more weight in total, more than the 250 at the rear, it helps offset the nose heavy front too which you only really noticed when pushing the car on B roads.
  5. Nice pics but that interior looks horrid! Two different shades of brown that don't necessarily go well together. Should have just stuck with black and tan. However the cream seats with brown dashboard look great on the Lexus Europe configurator. Personally I'd still be going for red.
  6. You may as well get a new A8 with £20k discount off a broker lol
  7. Worth calling Stockport too. Thats where my car came from and well priced. Think they were 2nd in the whole country this year.
  8. Holy heck. £2500 discount already?! RX is in very high demand! Ha. £4500 sounds reasonable asking. I got £5.4k in 2012 but tbf it was just a facelift and not a new model. Id probably only get about £25k tops for my RX but it's cost to change I'm worried about :(. My head is saying ex demo this time. Manchester tried selling me an RCF for £49k with 2k on the clock and only 7 months old. I was pretty surprised. It's more than £10k off new
  9. There were buttons in the rear for heated seats in the back in the new york knew. They also reclined automatically and BSM is already available in the mirror. They were also electric. Lexus crested parallel parking assist in the LS460 but got rid of it. Tbh all the current systems are rubbish. They take the car at silly slow speeds. It's faster to do it yourself. Soft close doors I don't understand. I like a nice thud. Honestly, the RX is VERY well priced. It cuts competitors by £5-10k spec for spec
  10. You cancel the old one and take a new one up wherever. How much is Stoke talking? Manchester have the RX coming in before Stoke do
  11. Town driving is more stressful than motorway driving due to taxi drivers lol. I find motorways are the easiest part of driving, but then, I do mostly drive in the third lane
  12. I have both gliptone and dodo juice supernatural leather cleaner. Have to say that gliptone is only any good for maintenance and although dodo juice is more expensive, it's well worth it down to the cleaning power alone! As for the seats, no issues I can see and no faded areas so I think the dye was definitely coming out of perforations rather than the face.
  13. £325k? Thats wrong, the car costs around £100k in the UK. Also, the car was leased, he has been charged with criminal damage of someone elses property.
  14. Couldn't go wrong with either. Id pick one based on your needs and what you want in a car after test driving.
  15. Its probably something they will implement in the future like they seem to do on all models each year
  16. 27PSI is way too low and I can't see any manufacturer recommending those sort of figures. The Lexus IS has 36psi figures and the RX has 32psi so I would expect 32psi on the NX too. Having said that - Mine are almost always pumped to about 37psi with no middle wear. I guess the tpms is better than nothing at all - I know that on my previous cars I was a bit lazy in checking pressures and I think it only became standard on the RX in 2013 so I missed it
  17. Frankfurt Motor Show today: New Metallic Black if I recall correctly - Graphite black or something along those lines. Looks sharp IMO.
  18. What you need to be careful about is walking away from car and at a distance locking it from the remote - in the above situation you may be unaware that it didn't lock correctly. I just look at my mirrors to see if folded
  19. Did you ask him if he would paint in a 'House of Kolor' paint for less than £200 ? The guy resprays very high end cars. No taxis in this place. Build up of paint on edges is down to poor technique, not masking. Besides, I'm wondering how this is a SMART repair. The area is way too big if you're doing a whole bumper
  20. My IS is 3 stage pearlescent mesa red I doubt a decent bodyshop would prep & spray it for £120!! The smart repair would have been nice finish he just didnt prep it properly. Doesn't matter. Paint cost is pretty much the same anyway regardless Not sure I agree about the paint cost. When they did mine they showed me a pretty small paint pot which had one of the constituents which makes up the Sonic T colour. It has some tiny fragments of glass (I think), and a special name which was important at the time but isn't now so I've forgotten it . He said it was really expensive compared to other paints. It could have kidology but he had no reason to over egg anything for my benefit. Like I said, its not the actual paint that costs more - hence why Lexus don't charge different rates for Metallic colour or Pearl colours. I think the most expensive paint job are the Sonic Red, Azure Blue and Sonic White colours. Compared to Solid colours, yes, pearl's are slightly more expensive but not by much, its a common myth. The only reason the actual job is expensive compared to solid colours is because there is more labour involved.
  21. I dont find the pillars too big in all honest - probably because the ones in my RX are twice the size of the IS ones hehe :P And actually, Ive not turned off the car on multiple occasions so you're not the only one. I usually look at the mirrors to see if the car is locked and I have definitely turned round and seen them open, at which point I walked back and turned the car off. Its usually when I'm talking on the phone in the car (in a car park dw) and then I just open the door and get out without switching it off!
  22. Lexus Europe already have a basic configurator. here is the link http://www.lexus.eu/car-configurator/?RX/submodel Nice to play around with it I guess lol Lexus Europe have also released some images and Videos - the Black RX450H F-Sport is LUSH!! Im seriously considering black now! Also, it appears the RX200t has a 0-62mph time of 9.2s (same as the NX300h) but I'd expect it to feel livelier and fuel consumption of 7.9l/100km = 35.75mpg. Emissions are 184g/km of C02 as per Euro 6 so tax will be £225 for this model. However the NX200T has a 0-62mph time of 7.3s as stated by Lexus Europe so here in the UK, you can expect the RX200t to get to 62mph in 9s flat in the UK which is OK IMO. Fuel consumption is also rated higher there than in the UK so UK mpg would be about 33-34mpg combined for the 200t. We already know the UK price at £39995 starting for it. RX450h is 0.1s faster now, at 7.7s. Lexus Europe figures for hybrids are identical to the ones in the UK so we can expect it to remain the same as there. Fuel consumption is 5.3l/100km which equates to 53 UK mpg. Expect that to reduce slightly to about 51-52mpg going by NX300h fuel economy discrepancy in UK and Europe. Just to make it completely clear F-SPORT models are rated at 5.3l/100km so expect the same 51-52mpg! Emissions for the F-Sport is 122g/km which means road tax is reduced from £135 to £110. There will be a model which will have 120g/km meaning tax of only £30 - prices start from £44995. Minimum turning radius remains the same at 5.7m at the tyres but Im assuming turning radius at the body will be slightly more than the current 6.1m
  23. Honestly depends. I drive 10k miles a year and motorways albeit short journeys, about 10 miles takes a toll on protection. I use Soft99 Fusso. It's advertised as a wax but lasts 6 months or so on bare paint with 2 coats. I like it to bead tight so I usually remove at 6 months before its actually dead so should do more. I like how it goes on wheels without fuss either. I do keep sonax BSD handy though just in case!
  24. Can I have his number? Please!! The front bumper would have to be removed and fittings taken off running lights ect, not masked up, flattened and sprayed, a bargain if that could be done for £120. The rate stone chips are growing on mine it will need this soon. The Smart repair insurance is an insurance so peace of mind if a numpty opens a door into it ect Ed. Overdrive in Batley. Google it :) however I'd say it'll prob be very expensive by the time you bring the car up here and back again! Tbf labour is cheap in Yorkshire cos we're tight. In all honesty, taking bumper off and fittings is expensive and that's what you'll be paying for, however, it's not really necessary as taping up is usually sufficient for front bumpers.
