  1. Well £70k is the top of the range Premier though so other versions are going to be cheaper. Im predicting the Luxury version to be about £60k. However, I wonder what the 200t pricing will be! NX200t is slightly more expensive than the 300h, due to more performance I think. The RX450h has more performance than a 200t so Id expect the 200t to be about £3-5k cheaper I guess you could go to Porsche but no Porsche SUV looks as good as that RX - period! Actually, I think its the best looking SUV in the segment - bags of presence!
  2. Hmm torque steer is no worse than the NX. Even then, it's only when you're pelting it on the motorway or something. Hasn't really been an issue for me, Im used to cars with very heavy steering so its no problem for me to hold onto the steering wheel a little tighter. Lexus employees already been to Austria and agree the new RX is miles ahead dynamically compared to the 3rd gen. Quality of the interior is on par with RR. Should be good to see for myself but I doubt they'd just make that up and disappoint customers. The 200t is an interesting proposition. Should be plenty quick at 8-ish seconds and that torque figure is identical to the RX350 so will feel quicker. Add weight savings and a cheaper price and it may even be the pick of the range?
  3. Damn..... One thing keeps coming back to me and it's that price! Id pay up to £60k for new F Sport but £70k is £10k more!!!I've just paid £15k in fees and accommodation for my son at Uni too last year!! Got another 4 years of that to pay :/ Essentially that means I'm probably getting an ex demo
  4. The Dunlops are good tyres albeit expensive at £71 a corner without fitting These are pretty good: http://www.tyreleader.co.uk/car-tyres/hankook/ventus-prime-2-k115/215-45-r17-87h-93172 Bear in mind that the Dunlops are superior tyres and are very quiet with great grip in the wet and decent fuel economy ratings. If you are willing to spend the extra money then you can't really beat them
  5. It's dual zone. Passenger and driver only.On a side note, when is the brochure being released to the public? I thought it was beginning of August yet I haven't got anything
  6. Good job! How did you find the car? Ive been looking for a while now and ive never actually seen one on Autotrader, ebay or pistonheads like you've bought! I feel like im probably not looking enough! It was purely on luck I think as I just went on the auto trader and it was the only one with that spec writhing a 70 mile radius and also just happened to be in white and the only one I saw not at a Lexus dealership. He also said a guy came in the day after me to buy the car so feeling pretty pleased Looks like I have to wait until next Tuesday to pickup as the car is booked on by the garage for the hybrid health check on Monday and also to take a look at the nav screen. Just had a call from the garage and his nearest dealer which is hull have said to him they've had a few in for the same reason. So hopefully that's going to be a good sign of warranty replacement. Just a bit dissappinted I've got to wait a whole week before I can pick it up. I've also got to say a little mention about the garage who has just picked up on the tyres are getting a bit low on rubber and because we both missed it has offered to meet me in the middle for all four tyres changed at £50 a corner which I can't grumble with as for even mid range 18" tyres I'd be looking at at least £85 a corner. I can say I'm very happy with the service from the garage selling the car Make sure you get the wheels checked out once the tyres are replaced! Low profile tyres are a PITA to change so tyre changers tend to scuff them up a lot!
  7. How do they wipe buddy? I guess its time to change mine now and they have the 26" and 22" ones for £15 including shipping. Works out the same price as the right side refill! :O
  8. Good job! How did you find the car? Ive been looking for a while now and ive never actually seen one on Autotrader, ebay or pistonheads like you've bought! I feel like im probably not looking enough!
  9. Yep - Im going to see what that new Caviar colour looks like and the red but Im sure ill probably get another white one! May go for the Premier this time but I like those wheels and theyre only available on the Luxury version! Aaaah Decisions!
  10. Yeah youre right. They have thousands in their used car and only give £500 off them. Standard practice for all UK Lexus dealers I think as ive enquires with quite a few and they won't go under £500 unless you really hammer them but it takes a good 2 weeks of negotiations. Their px prices are also ridiculous. Theyve consistently offered me less money for my wife's car than BMW, Audi or Mercedes
  11. Yes that is a good deal! I'm looking at a white with red IS300H f sport and the cheapest one is £24.5k with 10k on the clock. I've had a word with them and they're refusing to budge under asking price too so I thought stuff it, ill wait until something else comes up or until they give me a ring (which they always seem to do if the car sticks around for more than 2 weeks)Lucky bugger haha The Lexus dealer can't charge you anymore than £645 mate. Which dealer is it?
  12. What you say Gang, about taking a break is "spot on ", but it seems that a lot of people simply ignore the advice. I drive to and from Andalucia twice each year and rests stops are imperative, both to freshen up and to have toilet breaks. The drive you are taking seems wonderful, so please do let us have a full report in due course. Regards John I only tend to take 15 min breaks after 300 miles - seems to work for me so I dont think a Tesla would work for me, especially since I only did 200 miles before running out of juice. 2 issues - you can charge up to 100% but Tesla don't recommend it - they say 80% which gives you 264 miles theoretically but I only did 210 odd. Charging is frustrating at home - its dreary slow - Id rather fill up with petrol as my RX does 340 miles on a tank. The closest supercharger is in Leeds which is 7 miles away. I guess that will change when the 68 mile/h home charger comes out this year however. Ill be honest - I think the Tesla looks rubbish - I dont really see what the hype about the look is all about - I dont think it looks good at all from the outside - almost 1980's stretched VW beetle look Ill also say that its quite unreliable. Few things which I noticed - screen froze - major PITA as everything works from there. Sunroof wouldn't close and showed closed on the screen. Handles didn't open once. Also, the brakes stick a lot (due to being huge) in cold wet weather. And i wasn't too impressed with the interior quality - just didn't feel £50k worth, maybe on par with the IS but definitely not worth the price tag and I wasn't too keen on how everything is on show in the centre console eg the USB sticks, everything you put there rolls about etc etc. I think the only Lexus which has exposed USB sticks is the CT! And as for the price - its not just £58k though is it - you start putting options on that thing and the mid-range 85D costs circa £80k
  13. There aren't many cars that don't look good in black. The new RX looks pretty good in Sonic White though!
  14. You think thats bad? The other day I saw a 30 year old -ish woman park on double yellow with a disability badge and she was clearly NOT disabled. It was probably her father's or something She parked pretty close to the car which was behind her so I went and parked on the double yellows in front until the parking sensors went beep and I was only about 10cm away (parking space was so tight) - stuck my Doctor On Call badge on the dash and went on my home visit - safe to say she couldn't get out and was sat there waiting for me to come and move my car LOL She opened her window saying "why did you park so close - been here for 10 minutes waiting for you to get out" - I just said "serves you right - that disabled badge isn't yours you shouldn't be parking here" - she didn't say anything!
  15. Like I said - BMW X3 20d can manage 45mpg average - on just A roads and Motorways it may be touching on 48mpg in M-Sport guise and that's got some seriously beefy tyres and its not exactly short of performance like the NX. When a 3.5l Lexus Hybrid can do 35-38mpg I cant see why the NX can't do more than 45mpg (lets just say not many owners are seeing above 40 mpg anyway) The IS can achieve 56mpg as shown by whatcar and 60mpg as shown by Motoring research. If driven normally itll get 45mpg in my hands so the NX is seriously lacking somewhere - especially since I had the Premier - again - beefy tyres at the rear and I dont exactly drive slow
  16. Not when you consider the RX450h does 35mpg on motorways in Sport mode with 5 people so basically you're trading 7mpg for 100 less hp, less weight, 1000cc and 2 cylinders less and skinnier tyres. And the NX refinement doesn't really come close to the RX either. It's a 10 mpg difference but Martins 45 mpg was an average not a motorway figure, realistically, how much would you expect a 2 tonne petrol auto a wd to achieve? I think few similar size diesels would achieve an average of 4 mpg. I was referring to motorway mpg only. If I used an average I'd be at 38 or so mpg. NX kerb weight is 1895kg in F Sport guise. RX comes in at 2205kg! Realistically with that huge 300kg difference, smaller engine and running narrower 225 tyres I'd be expecting atleast 50mpg. Considering the huge performance deficit, the NX doesn't really return much in terms of economy or refinement as it gets pretty loud at even half throttle. The 200t I tested did 33mpg average. Id rather take that if it had the right spec The X3 20d manages 45mpg average but it has some serious shove (although it's rattles) which the NX can't match. Why they didn't go for the IS powertrain is beyond me - I doubt it'd affect fuel economy much

  18. I wouldn't put it on an IS300H either way. It'll ruin the refinement. Can't see why it wouldn't be good on the IS250 though or the upcoming IS200t
  19. I think the CT FSPORT looks horrid. I don't mind the luxury and Premier though. They look smart-ish
  20. Ok so today was a trip to ligh****er valley. Set the cruise control on at 70mph as I wasn't in a hurry. It works about 60 miles for me so 120 miles in total 3 adults and 2 children in the car in normal mode + a heavy picnic hamper. Managed 35.4 mpg :) I'm going to Gloucester for a wedding in 2 weeks. It's 340 miles in total so will post that up too
  21. I've seen a Red on Red GS300h. Loved it would definitely buy if I wanted that sort of car I think the CT generally looks crap lol
  22. Just a facelift then I guess. It looks good in Blue but the white looks odd. Would love to see it in Crimson Red though or Orange
  23. However it could be that Lexus have removed it from the F Sport thinking it may be unneeded as the F Sport has the new digital speedo I'm sure Lexus removed options from the IS when the 3rd gen came out too
  24. No they dont, but considering its significant wear - it simply can't be just wear and tear. If they were clever, they'd just call it a day and sort it out - otherwise things can go to watchdog etc and Lexus definitely doesn't want that.
