  1. The only difference between the NX300H and the cars you mention is that the other cars have ALOT more power. A 2.5l 4 pot is never going to be as good at hauling a 1.8 tonne vehicle as a 3.5l V6 is and has to work much harder resulting in lower MPG
  2. Can't say it's any worse than my wife's current C220 CDI in terms of throttle response and the Merc has an overly aggressive traction control system too so no surprises. I did floor the IS300H in a corner in Sport mode and it did a nice flick in the rear end and the traction control got it back in line so can't complain. If it was a BMW I'd have wrapped it round a lamp post me thinks
  3. Guide is up for the exterior should you choose to read it. May self destruct in 5 seconds :P
  4. I'd like to think so! Regrettably I have kerbed an alloy and of course, stonechips and leather wear is inevitable! Stay tuned for the updates. Interior section coming soon!
  5. Update - new hyperlinks for easy navigation. Interior section will be coming soon and I will be making changes throughout Last updated - 19/10/2015 Thanks to bluenose1940 for egging me on to get this finished! Rayaan's Guide To Detailing Your Lexus.pdf
  6. Im just in the process of writing up a detailing guide which may be helpful for you. Ill post it up in the Detailing section. Basically the process is wash - clay - polish - wax. If you have clay already, just use it with diluted car shampoo. If not, Id recommend getting the G3 clay mitt, makes the process much faster. A quick beginners polish is Autoglym Super Resin Polish. Personally, my bottle went runny so I got myself some Autosmart Platinum which is great! Any wax of your preference will do. Polishing brings out the shine, wax just protects the paint from bird bombing etc etc
  7. RRG generally get very favourable reviews here. Stockport, Bradford and Bolton are good. Whenever I've been to Manchester they have also been good. The photographic evidence you mention is for Lexus UK to do their own checks as they pay the dealership for any work carried out. Therefore, a dealer could technically just vouch for any customer damage ie a smashed side mirror to fork out extra money from Lexus UK which is why they ask for it. Not the dealers fault on that one.
  8. Yep does look good but I also prefer the F sport. I'm not too fussed on the Premier kit as it just annoyed me. Too many bing's and flashing lights with RCTA and BSM. I find they distract me more The ML needs tweaking a lot. I tend to leave mid where it is and stick both bass and treble up. Others have suggested moving the balance more towards the rear so it sounds natural. Some sources such as USB also sound better than others I'm not too fussed about the exhausts. Just something extra to polish! Much easier to dress the plastic diffuser My RX lights are all warm apart from the reading lights which I prefer. It feels more comforting imo with warm lights
  9. Yep pretty noisy. Having driven the NX300h I was also disappointed in how noisy it is at full wack, especially since you have to do that more often with only 195hp! Perhaps they should listen to Johnny's suggestion and go for the ZF or perhaps the Aisin 8 speed instead!
  10. No news of an Advance Plus IS300h. First place you'd find out is the Lexus UK Blog.
  11. I guess it depends where you live. London or Manchester might not be a bad place for the NX300h as hills are few and far between. Yorkshire on the other hand is a different story! I guess many people only find out when they have bought the car already as most dont tend to go on hills on test drives.
  12. I don't know. I've driven the NX300H and a lot of other cars including the CT. I had no issues with the CT going up the hill, or my previous RX300 or even my RX450H. The IS300H is fine too. The NX300h is an odd one, it has to rev alot to get up a hill. I was literally flooring it and it just gets tiring. Reminds me of my son's friends Fiat 500 which has trouble getting up a hill. Recently been sorted with software change.
  13. My whole rim is exposed after kerbing. No corrosion after 3 years here. Then again I never had any on my 04 RX300 either
  14. Hmm come to think of it, my 2004 RX300 had no trouble getting up hills and it only had 201 hp. However, it did go to a lower gear on hills to help pull the car up. With CVTs there's no gradient sensor so you have to modulate using the accelerator pedal whereas in my RX300 it'd automatically go to a lower gear if it thought the car wasn't going to get up
  15. Yep. Still as day one. My car is garaged though :). No noises yet. Mine are actually over 3 years old now. Probably change them when they start wearing out
  16. Agree with comments about high volumes - I usually listen at 35-40 and the clarity is unbelievable. The details are lost at volumes under 35 and it really does come alive when pumping the volume up
  17. Exactly my point! F-type Jag's and RR Sport's hold their value very well for how much they cost to buy in the first place, as does the M4 to an extent. The RC-F has taken a pretty big hit even though there are only 200 destined for the UK in the first year. There are 30 or so on the Lexus used website which only leaves another 170 left, some of which are probably in the showrooms and some of which are unsold.
  18. Dealer told me it was already on the boat when they were looking for stock but no one had ordered it so they bought it. UPDATE - Dealer phoned me today as I asked why it wasnt in the brochure. Turns out the car has a custom interior and is not going to be available in the UK. Somehow this one just ended up here but no idea who's it is LOL.
  19. Hmm that's weird. I was told it was just ordered 1 month ago :/
  20. Yep you can see it on the 2nd picture on the a pillar. It wasn't available in April. Apparently this is the first one in the UK in this colour combo. I noticed the tyres were Dunlop SP Sport Maxx and not Bridgestones
  21. That's why I said before, the cheapest way to own a car is to get the finance contribution and then pay it all off after 14 days. With the finance contribution, it only works out cheaper if you have 0% finance, otherwise you'd get a £1k discount and get charged £3k interest so then youre worse off by £2k
  22. Trust me its power lol. It just doesnt want to go up the hills! You have to be at halfway on the power band to get any real go
  23. Could try it with heat proof gloves but then you wouldn't know if it's hot would you? LolI know a guy who tried feeling the heat from a stuck caliper on his cheek. Got his face stuck to the wheel and a permanent Audi logo on his face lmao
