  1. Hi all, I want to delete a couple of contacts from the phone bit on the ICE but the 'delete' button is greyed out. How do I do it? Also, I can't seem to delete my call history for the same reason. Any ideas? Thanks, Alan
  2. I think their recommendations differ depending on model. The choice I get for my GS are different to what they recommend for my IS. I also think their prices are very comparable to independent tyres companies. And every time I've had new tyres put on they've done a health check and valet. However, I've become disappointed as the last time they failed to give me a tin of sweets!
  3. I had Nexen's on my IS and when I changed two of them at the Lexus dealer they replaced them with Nexen's also. Had no problems myself. Currently got Dunlop Sport Max on my GS and they are also very good and very quite.
  4. I had my two rear shock replaced under extended warranty at around 45k miles!
  5. If you have had the car regularly serviced by Lexus then you should have no problems with a claim. A water pump failing after 52,000 miles cannot be classified as 'wear and tear'.
  6. My default is set as: 20, 40 and 60 which seems fine to me.
  7. This is something that annoys me. In my old IS there was a TA button on the dash where I could easily switch the function on or off at will. In my newer GS I have to go into the depths of the ICE to do the same. I guess that's 'progress' for you!
  8. I've set the sensitivity to the second setting. Works well for me there. The other positions are either too sensitive or not sensitive enough.
  9. Regarding point 4, I drove a Mercedes once which had a really clever hold function. All you had to do was depress the brake pedal fully for it to operate. Much more user friendly.
  10. The recirculation button has another anomoly that the auto bit only seems to work when AC is on! My headlamp washers seem to operate every time I use the screen wash as long as the main beam is on. Just thought about another irritating thing. Why is there a green light on the rear view mirror telling me that auto is on? Almost as annoying as bright headlights behind me!!
  11. Whilst stuck in traffic this morning I thought I’d while away the time admiring my cockpit. Although most of it appears beautiful and logically laid out it dawned on me that there are a few anomalies and also some strange decisions made. 1. Why do some switches have a light on them whilst others have the light in the dash? For example, the BSM switch lights up but the auto headlight shows in the dash binnacle. 2. There is also a light on the auto wipers but not on the headlamp control. This is odd because if the lights aren’t on you can’t tell their set to auto unless you crane your neck to look through the wheel. 3. Why is the Parking sensor switch hidden away in the armrest? I don’t like it on most of the time but when I find myself in a tight spot I find them useful and it would be much easier to hit a switch quickly if it were on the dash. 4. Why is the ‘hold’ button hidden away behind the steering wheel? On the centre console would make more sense. 5. Why are the HUD controls also carefully behind the steering wheel? 6. What is the point of the headlamp washer switch? It only works when the headlights are on and if the headlights are on and you use the windscreen washer they clean the headlights anyway! Don’t the designers ever sit in the car, let alone drive it, to test the functionality of the switches? Yes, I know, I really ought to get out more!
  12. Although it wasn't the best feature I used mine occasionally in my old IS. It understood me when I wanted to change the temperature or select home on my the sat nav, for example. On my GS it seems to be a complete pile of pants! Doesn't seem to understand anything I say. There doesn't seem to be much info in the handbook. Does anyone use theirs and if so, how? And any tips to make it usefully easy? Thanks, Alan
  13. No vibrations at all. You can barely feel the engine kick in and most the time not at all. That's why I'm curious about your problem. It's not normal. I've driven other gs300h's as courtesy cars and they were fine too. You really must get the dealer to sort it as it's still under warranty. If the dealer won't help contact Lexus HQ and make a complaint.
  14. Hi Luigi, Have checked my car and get the message "Factory Standard. No updates have been applied". Have had a look around the site but can't see anywhere where I can see if there are any updates for mine. Can you head me in the right direction? Cheers, Alan
  15. Now there I think lies the problem! If you don't want your windows steaming up don't.........
  16. The first time I heard it on my GS made me think something serious was wrong. Now I find it quite endearing!
  17. "Not had it off in any car for years" I think that's the opposite of bragging!!!
  18. Um, didn't realise that they are semi permanent. I was hoping they just clipped on!
  19. Interesting that they sit over the B pillar. I was hoping they'd sit between the pillars.
