  1. Can I have your old knackered one if you plan to bin it? I'd like to take a peek inside and see what actually goes wrong. Seems like a common issue, if it's just some circuit wizardry then maybe I can do something?! Ideally would like to prep myself for this :D
  2. Rephrased, if you indent to lubricate as a primary function, WD40 is not the first thing I would go to.
  3. Eh, can't a detailer sort it with a proper machine polish aka a correction?
  4. Im 22 in the LS430 and on £650 F comp. Fleet insurance is wonderful. 18 on a 2004 BMW 330d cost £600. At 21 on a 2007 330i it was £650,all f comp.
  5. Indeed, you need this hooked onto a Hunter Alignment system. Then we will see if the tracking is ok or not more accurately.
  6. Blueprint are perfectly fine in the Jap market. They do the WP and TB kit. I'm just gonna do the job myself, cba with taking my car places.
  7. Have done, they said the factory bit. The dealer palmed it off to the factory.
  8. I haven't been impressed with Lexus rust warranty. Some stupid dealer when they took the car in took it on themselves to drill into the body work to mount the number plates. Now when contacting Lexus they told me this is done at the factory..so even though it left the factory with this ridiculous drilling and rust spreading around. they wouldn't cover it.
  9. Yeah you might aswell put the 1/2 hour effort using Autoglym SRP. It will cover up your swirl marks and add depth.
  10. Which guy did you have to pleasure to get them for free?? :D :D
  11. Ought to point, advised to replace the cotter pin with a new one, and calliper bolts with new ones. Both I didn't see the need to do but it is factory advised to do so.
  12. Well whenever I sell my car it's usually at my warehouse, so there's always the opportunity for them to see the ramp etc. Meh, this needs careful consideration as I also plan on doing the timing belt. I think the savings would take over the hit on the value. I personally don't have a problem with DIYd cars aslong as I can see the receipts etc.
  13. Interesting, Chris is that regardless of all the oil/filter receipts being present etc? Or does it only apply to, yes I DIY serviced it by lost the receipts.
  14. On my LS430 it has a full service history, the first owner had it serviced by Lexus and then when it came out of warranty, he had it done at his usual garage. The second owner had it done at Lexus. I have had it done at Lexus so far. Now coming up to my next service, would you look down on an LS430 if I had serviced it myself, the thing is, I am perfectly competent and have my own car lift etc etc. But it worries me that it will really affect my LS value. If I had receipt for all the parts from the local Toyota dealer. A service checklist etc and all filled in properly. Would you think twice or would you prefer it to be done by a dealer? For a major the cost is £359. Doing it myself would cost around £60 in parts, ( assuming major covers, engine oil, diff oil, air filter, pollen filter, brake fluid )
  15. I had a squeal coming so wanted to fix it, thought I'd make a video. Will be making more in the near future. Tips/comments welcome as it's my first video!
  16. You can go to your local toyota dealer and get 5l of Toyota branded 5/30 for £20...
  17. Yes, or at least replace the plunger and solenoids etc when having it LPGd.
  18. Rear drop link, trailing bush, top mount, spare tyre tightened down? Get it in the air with a nice prybar around the back.
  19. Indeed a pig of a job. Slap bang in that V. This gives a decent insight into taking apart a Toyota V8 manifold off. http://www.someguyinnevada.com/toyota-tundra-starter-repair-a-journey-of-discovery I'll be taking mine off some point in the next couple of weeks. I may film the job on a HD camera if you guys are interested. I am on an LS430 but it's going to be a very similar process to the LS400.
  20. Purely from a part number basis, the only other car it shares it with is a TOYOTA CENTURY
  21. Why don't you just have an LPG installer replace the starter? Mike I don't think he will do a 350 mile round trip to have a starter replaced :D
  22. You just say you want trade price,99% they give it without any follow up question.
